The Alpha Bully
Chapter 56

Catherine's

POV:

Ace didn't know the reason why I asked him if he would like to meet up but he was excited to meet up with me. Black was his color. Everything black-suited him so perfectly.

He bend over and kissed my lips, his hand angles my head so that he could kiss me better.

After a while, he broke the kiss and smiled "missing me, my sexy Butterfly?" He questioned and I nodded my head.

I did miss him even though it was not up to 24hrs since we last saw each other.

"I do." He dusted my bottom lip with his thumb and smirked.

"I am here to tend to your need, Butterfly."

He pulled me up from the couch and raised my left leg, seeing that as a queue, I jumped on his and wrapped my legs around his torso, his hands stayed on my a*s while I wrapped my hands around his neck.

He bit on my bottom lip and I gasped, giving him the leverage to plug his tongue deep down my throat.

He broke the kiss after a while and I let out a loud breath.

My heart was pounding against my chest and my palms started turning sweaty. It was as if I was about to lose it. I shouldn't lose it. Not in front of him, not like this.

"Are you okay?" I wrapped my hands tightly around his neck and nodded my head. I needed the closeness just a little bit more. Just a little bit more.

He let me down on my feet and stared into my eyes, though he has mastered the art of deception, the ability to hide his feelings from people, it seems like since we got back together he has been showing me his true self one after the other. I could see the worries written all over his face.

He was worried for me.

"Are you sure, Butterfly? You look like you might cry." God. Why did he have to say it like that? How could his words move me to tears so quickly?

I lowered my eyes to the ground and bit my lower lip. I was trying so hard to hold back my tears but I couldn't. He placed his hands on both sides of my cheeks and lifted my face so that my eyes rested on his.

"You are crying." He whispered in a soft but hard voice.

Don't be this loving, Ace Hampton.

Please don't.

"Catherine look at me." He whispered in a soft yet serious voice.

Should I just tell him? Should I tell him the truth and relieve myself of this burden? Should I? I didn't know what to do, I was confused and helpless.

His eyes were scrutinizing me, calculating, trying to gauge my reaction.

Even if I told him that there was nothing wrong he wasn't going to believe me.

There was no way that he was going to believe me.

It just doesn't make sense that I started feeling emotional out of nowhere.

"It's your Mom." I finally let it out.

It was like a breath of fresh air. I felt as if a huge load was relieved from my shoulder.

I felt free.

"My Mom? What did she do? Did she threaten you?" He questioned me, his eyes darkened when I didn't say a word and he stepped back from me.

I felt a chilling, bone-cracking fear wash through me.

No. I couldn't let him leave just like that.

I wasn't going to let that happen.

I quickly grabbed his hand then shook my head.

I didn't want him to turn his back on me.

"If I hadn't asked, would you have ever told me?" He asked and I lowered my eyes.

He was right.

I probably would have been on a private jet fly to London by this time tomorrow while he keeps wondering what he did wrong and what led to my decision. "Ace," I whispered.

"Was this a break-up call? Did you want to break up with me if I hadn't asked you what was wrong?"

I was ashamed of myself. Ashamed of my actions.

Ashamed of how weak I was.

A strong guy like Ace doesn't deserve the bare minimum.

He deserves so much more.

So much more.
