The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 53

Cassius’s POV

I growled lowly as my mother shoved me out of my room and slammed the door. I stood for a moment wearing only a pair of silk boxers. With a sigh, I jogged to the other end of the hall to my parents’ room. I knocked on the door, and my father answered it. He looked me up and down and then busted out laughing. “It’s not funny, Dad,” I grumbled at him as he let me step into the room.

Phillip was standing just behind my father and bust out laughing with him. “What happened, son?” My father said, trying to catch his breath as he and Phillip slapped each other’s arms.

“Your crazy a*s mate threw me out of my bedroom with only boxers on,” I replied with annoyance.

“You came out of my crazy a*s, mate,” My Dad lead me over to the couch. Jemma’s twin brother, Iain, was sitting with her son Nick while eating donuts. Iain and Nick were watching cartoons.

“She wouldn’t let me put clothes on,” I turned to my father.

He shrugged, “You guys are running behind, and you know how hyped up your mother get for these things,” He explained.

“I was comforting Jemma,” I sighed, “She was having morning sickness, and I was being a good mate and helping her through it.”

My father looked at Phillip, and they started laughing again. “That will get old fast, trust me, Cassius.” Phillip gave me a sympathetic look. “In no time, she’ll be cursing your existence.”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “I was just helping. Is that so bad?”

“No, son. The next six months are not going to be easy. Just remember one thing respond to everything she says with ‘Yes dear. Whatever you say, dear. Right away, dear.’ “

A pair of sweatpants hit me in the side of the head, “Dad!”

“Son, we don’t have to get ready for hours, so put these on. Looking at your half-erect d**k is disturbing me.”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “Why are you staring at my d**k, Dad?”

“Hmm, no wonder you got my daughter pregnant so quickly.” Phillip looked me up and down.

I covered myself and growled at him. “Okay, can everyone stop staring at my d**k?” I quickly pulled the pants on.

“What’s a d**k?” I heard Nick ask his uncle. I sat on the couch beside them.

Iain smirked at him, “It’s the grown up word for wiener.”

“Oh, d**k, d**k, d**k,” Nick chanted.

Phillip smacked the back of Iain’s head, “Iain, don’t teach your nephew naughty words.”

Iain rubbed his head and glared at his father. “He asked.”

“Your sister is going to kill you.” Phil sighed and sat on the opposite couch, picked up the remote, and changed the channel, which only made Nick cry.

“Grandpa!” He squealed. “I was watching cartoons.”

“Don’t yell at me Nicholas,” He gave the pup a look, which seemed effective as Nick just sat on the couch with his little arms folded. Phillip put the TV on golf.

“Oh geez, Phil put the cartoons back on,” I mumbled.

“No,” He stared at the TV.

“As the king, I am ordering you to put it back on cartoons.”

Phil lifted an eyebrow at me. “Are you really throwing your rank around to watch cartoons?”

“Uh yes, yes I am, Alpha.” He rolled his eyes at me, which reminded me of Jemma. I laughed. “So, that’s where Jemma gets it?”

“Gets what?” Phil asked me.

“That haughty eyeroll you just did. She does that all of the time.”

He just smirked and turned the Tv back to cartoons. “You pups watch what you want. Terry and I will play cards.” He mumbled and stood up.

There was a knock on the door, and my father opened it to a couple of omegas who pushed in carts loaded with food. “Breakfast is here, fellas.”

I was starving and began to pile a plate with eggs and bacon and sausage and potatoes. I sat on the couch. Phillip set a plate of eggs and bacon on the coffee table for Nick. The pup whined, “Grandpa, I want waffles.”

“You can’t have waffles every morning, Nicholas,” Phillips replied to his grandson.

Nick sat on the floor and folded his arms again. “Hey Nick,” I lightly nudged his little arm. “You know if you want to be a big strong alpha someday, you need lots of meat to build up your strength.” I smiled at him and took a bite of sausage. I sat on the floor beside him and pulled him onto my lap.

“Daddy says I have to be a beta.” Nick looked up at me with the same blue eyes as his father, but the determination in his face was all Jemma.

“You can be anything you want, Nick. I can sense that wolf of yours is an alpha. He won’t be happy as a beta.” He picked up a piece of bacon and nibbled it. “Good boy,” I smiled as the pup giggled.

“He is taking to you, Cassius,” Phillip remarked.

I shrugged at my father-in-law, “I love pups, Phil.” I laughed as Nick slid off my lap and began shoveling his eggs into his little mouth with his hands. “I have always wanted a lot of pups. Thinking like five or six.”

Phillip snorted into his coffee, “Good luck, convincing Jemma to pop out six pups.”

I shrugged, “I don’t know. It might not be so hard. She has an insatiable s*x drive that I can use against her.”

A low growl came from the alpha, “Mention my daughter’s s*x drive one more time, and I’ll rip your tongue out.”

“Yeah, seriously, dude, gross.” Iain sneered at me.

We spent the next few hours bullshitting and talking. My father and Phillip give Iain and I unsolicited advice about fatherhood. Then they told us stories about their antics as young wolves.

Finally, we were getting dressed in our formal wear. I put on my king suit, a black three-piece with a sash of medals on it. My father stood beside me in his closet wearing a similar suit. “Are you ready for this, Cassius?”

“Of course I am ready. I couldn’t ask for a better, queen.”

“Jemma will be a remarkable queen. I just know it.” My father mused, ” I was talking about seeing your cousin Felix. The last time you saw each other-“

“I remember,” I replied. The last time I had seen my treacherous cousin was at my own coronation. He had announced his son’s birth and bragged about how he was now the legitimate heir to the throne. He goaded me into a fight and wound up with a bloody and broken nose. I had to repress a growl as the memory faded. “I’ll try not to injure the a*****e.”

“Well, take it outside if you must. Your mother would pop a vessel if you got b***d on any of her decorations.”

“Is that what you think of me, Terrance?” We both turned to see my mother standing in the doorway of the closet, glaring at my father.

“N-no, dear.” My father stuttered, “I was just telling our son not to beat up his cousin today because we don’t want your efforts going to waste.”

She snorted, “Nice try. We are almost ready for you idiots. I have to go put my dress on.” She called as she disappeared again.

“Seriously, Dad? Throw me under the bus.”

He shrugged. “Better you than me. I still want blow jobs on the regular.”

I cringed, “Gross, Dad.”

We finished putting on our suits and then headed downstairs with Phillip, Iain, and Nick. We went into the men’s dressing room next to the throne room. I paced, waiting for the ceremony to start. Phillip and Iain stepped out as I agreed to watch Nick for a few minutes.

There was a knock on the door of the dressing room. I opened it to a blonde-haired man with violet eyes. “Elder Reed,” I greeted him.

He bowed, “Your majesty.” Elder Reed Moonraker was one of the most respected wolves in the kingdom. He usually presided over ceremonies such as this. He had served under my grandfather as his head warrior. Even now, he sometimes trained with my warriors, and like Jemma, he is a white wolf. “It will be my great honor to crown my great-niece queen today.”

I lifted an eyebrow, “It’s too bad she doesn’t know who you are.”

He sighed, “Well, her father refuses to reconcile with me, so I never really met her. She thinks she is the only white wolf alive right now. My nephew Phillip won’t let me talk to her.”

“Elder, you may meet with her after the coronation. I believe she wants to speak to you also. I can imagine her shock when she learns that you are her grandmother’s brother,” I said as the elder smiled.

“I would like that. Maybe I could get her to convince Phillip to make up with me.”

“Perhaps, “I said as my mother walked into the room.

“It’s time,” She said as she smiled at Nick. She was wearing a blue dress similar to the old one Jemma was wearing. It was less elaborate. On her head was the queen’s crown, which she would pass down to Jemma.

I picked up the king’s crown, sitting on a velvet pillow on a table in the room and putting it on. I adjusted it on my head as it felt heavy. My mother then clasped my hand and smiled at me. The door opened, and my parents walked out first. I looked down at Nick. “Come on, Nick. It’s time for your Mom to become the queen,” He ran over and grabbed my hand. We walked out of the room, and I spied Iain and Tiffany sitting near the front of the platform. “Nick, you see your aunt and uncle.” He nodded, “Go sit with them and be a good pup, okay?”

“Okay.”

I watched as he ran over, and Iain set him on a chair between him and his sister. Sighing, I took my place in front of my throne as my parents stood on either side. The doors opened as everyone in the room rose from their seats. I looked down the red carpet to see my queen flanked by her parents, strolling down the aisle. She was in the old coronation dress that generations of queens had worn. Her blonde hair was braided and resting on her shoulder. Her violet eyes sparkled as they met mine. For an instant, the rest of the world disappeared as I watched my mate, the mother of my children, my everything glide towards me and our future together.

Jemma and her parents finally reached the bottom of the steps, and I walked down to hold out my hand to her. I glanced at Phillip, “I will take it from here, Alpha MacKenzie.”

The alpha squeezed her hand and kissed her cheek, “Go, my daughter. This is your time to shine,” He smiled at her. Her mother squeezed her arm as I clasped her soft hand. Jemma looked back at her parents as I lead her up the stairs. I had her stand in front of the queen’s throne. I then turned to address the crowd. “Today, we will witness the crowning of the new Queen of Lycanis,” I gestured towards Elder Reed, who was standing off to the side of the platform. “You may begin, Elder Reed.”

I beamed proudly as I watched Jemma take the oath. I could sense a little uneasiness from her through the bond. Elder Reed removed the crown from atop my mother’s head and gently placed it on Jemma’s head. “I, Elder Reed Moonraker, crown thee Jemma Skye Fury, Queen of Lycanis.” He announced and stepped to the side.

I took her hand and held it up as the hall erupted into cheers and applause. I squeezed her hand as Elder Reed handed me a dagger while holding a chalice. I ran the dagger across the palm of my hand and dripped my b***d into the chalice. I gave Jemma the dagger, and she did the same. As our b***d mixed in the chalice, the wind picked up, and the room took on a silvery glow. I sensed Jemma’s alarm as she was now able to hear the voices of every single citizen of the kingdom.

‘Focus only on my voice Jemma.’ I linked her. ‘Focus Jemma.’ I could sense her calming. She looked into my eyes, and I brought her hand to my lips and kissed it. “I present to you all, Queen Jemma Fury,” I announced as everyone in the room except my parents took a knee and bowed to their new queen. I felt her uneasiness as everyone rose to their feet again. Her heart began to race, and I felt her hand squeeze mine. She was upset about something. ‘What’s wrong, love?’ I asked in her mind.

‘It’s him, Cassius. The one that has been haunting my dream.’ His voice sounded laced with fear. She managed to maintain her composure as we sat on our thrones.

‘Who is causing you distress, Jemma?’ I could feel my anger rising. Someone was making my mate tremble. She flashed me an image, and I looked out at the crowd to my cousin’s smirking face. ‘That’s the one that has been plaguing your dreams.’

‘Yes,’ She replied as we stood up and walked down the red carpet. She looked straight ahead. We had to greet the other citizens gathered outside of the palace.

‘That is my cousin Felix.’ I nearly growled. That rat bastard was somehow disturbing her dreams. No doubt the work of his witch of a mate. I would have to get to the bottom of it. But I had to wait. ‘Maria!’ I called to my delta through the link.

‘What’s wrong, Cass?’ She replied with concern.

‘Keep an eye on Felix and anyone that arrived with him.’ I ordered her.

‘On it, Cass.’

Jemma and I reached the balcony overlooking the courtyard and beyond. Thousands of wolves were crowded in as Jemma, and I waved to them. Both of us are hiding our fear and anger. The gathered wolves all cheered for their newly crowned queen. We then headed back towards the dressing rooms outside of the throne room. She would get out of the traditional coronation gown into something a little more comfortable. I went to wait in the other dressing room. I was met with my parents. They must have sensed my anger.

“What is wrong, Cassy?” My mother asked as I sat on one of the couches.

I was hesitating to say anything about Felix.

“Cassius, we can sense your anger, you know that, right?” My father said to me.

I took a deep breath. “Jemma has been having nightmares for weeks, and she keeps seeing Felix.”

They glanced at each other in silence. “Are you sure?” My father asked with concern.

“She said it was. I sensed her fear upon seeing him, and as far as I know, that was the first time she ever saw him while awake.”

My father blew out a long breath. “That son of a bitch.”

“How the hell is he getting into her dreams?”

“No doubt he is using that witch he calls his mate.” My father spat out. “What is that little s**t’s endgame?”

“Oh, you know, Dad. Felix wants the crown any way he can get it.”

My father stood up and punched the wall, “He’s not getting it. Jemma is pregnant with your heir. It’s over for him.”

“You know Felix. He’ll try something.”

“We need to get to the bottom of this, Cassius,” My father growled.

I stood up and placed my hand on his shoulder. “I already have Maria keeping an eye on him and anyone he brought with him.”

“Well, that’s a start.”

“We’ll speak with Grand Wizard Tuatha after the ball. See if he has any insight on Felix’s mate,” I added.

My father sighed. “Good. I taught you well, Cassius.”

I took off the heavy crown I was wearing and set it on the velvet pillow. I picked up a smaller, less elaborate one and put it on. The door of the room opened, and Ainsley stepped in. She was wearing a blue dress and had a tiara on her head. “Hey, Ains.” I smiled at my sister.

We all then exited the dressing room and met up with Jemma and her family in the hall. We would all walk into the ballroom in a procession. I looked Jemma up and down. She was wearing a shimmery dark blue dress that had a slit up the side on her right leg. It was a little low cut and showed off her ample breasts. Upon her blonde hair sat the smaller queen’s crown. It suited her. The Goddess knew what she was doing when she chose Jemma to be my mate. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her soft lips. She melted into me.

“Cassius!” My mother barked at me.

With hesitation, I released her and clasped her hand. “Are you ready for the ball, Cinderella?”

She laughed softly. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”

“Let’s go,” I replied, and we lead everyone into the ballroom.
