Episode 37

LUCY’S POV:

Eric was staring at my brothers and I in shock , probably shocked to see that I was still alive and breathing after leaving Ariana behind to finish me off , probably even more shock that I’d had time to bring my brothers along with me to help bring him down and see to it that his plan was a complete failure . His eyes narrowed as he glared at us , hatred pouring out of him in great waves before he let out a loud roar and shifted right before our eyes into a huge reddish brown wolf that resembled Ariana’s but was just a lot bigger .

He growled at us , his eyes moving from one brother to the next until they finally settled back on me . It was official , the wolf wanted me dead … nothing new there .

My brothers and I begun to circle his wolf , Ermanno was the first to attack sinking his teeth into Eric’s back , my brothers and I joined in right after , biting into different parts of him . Eric’s wolf yelped in pain as he tried to shake us off him but none of us were letting go … and we weren’t planning too until we were finished with him , none of us stopped not even when some of Eric’s pack members started to advance on us from all different directions . Suddenly , out of nowhere I felt a sharp pain in my bones , I let go of Eric unable to concentrate through the pain and looked around only to realize that all of the wolves on our side were experiencing the same torture .

What was causing this ? My eyes continued to scan my surroundings until they spotted a woman a little distance away from the battle . I froze , understanding what was happening now .

Marianne… The witch responsible for putting Austin under the spell !

She was Eric’s back up plan , that was why she was here . To help him if things went bad , it all made sense now , Eric truly had thought about everything for his plans to succeed this time .

Things weren’t looking to good for us anymore , she was preventing us from using our full strength , giving the enemies the upper hand . I watched in horror as Eric’s pack begun to attack us from all directions , my brothers as well as Austin and the packs were trying hard to fight back despite the pain infliction we were experiencing from the disgusting witch .

A loud powerful howl suddenly echoed throughout the night sky , I followed the sound and spotted a large black grey wolf in the air before he came crashing down onto Eric’s wolf …. W-what?

Surely it couldn’t be true , but it was … my father !

H-he came ?

There was a woman on his back and she quickly stepped down and faced Marianne.

Another witch , I silently thought .

How did my father know about this and how did he know we would need a witch on our side ?

The pain immediately stopped as the other witch used her magic to fight against Marianne’s spell .

Within seconds the battle field had turned against Eric and his wolves , with Austin’s pack and his allies overcoming them all . It was clear as day that Eric’s pack was going to fall and they were going to fall hard , I doubt any of them would even survive with the way Austin and my brothers along with my father were blazing through them .The scene around me was hard to look at , dead bodies and b***d tainting the ground and trees everywhere .

“How does it feel Eric ?” The witch who had arrived with my father shouted . ” To have your plans from all of these years completely fail right before you … you know what’s the worst part , you don’t even know that your daughter is no longer alive . How do you think Lucy escaped ? Yes Eric , Lucy killed her , your daughter was no match for Richard’s powerful daughter just like you are no match for Austin and his family .”

“This is payback for murdering my daughter in cold b***d!” The witch screamed at Eric . “Now your daughter is also dead and you’ll be joining her very soon .”

Her words seemed to strike a nerve in Eric for he suddenly turned to me , his wolf had a murderous expression on his face and before anyone had a chance to decipher his next move … he attacked me and did it the exact same time I felt a excruciating pain all over my body that most likely had to be another spell from the witch . I couldn’t move , just stand there and watch as Eric launched himself at me . As I stood there , time seeming to slow down with everything around me moving in slow motion … all I could think of was my baby … my baby … OH GOD MY BABY !

AUSTIN’S POV:

Time seemed to have stopped as I watched with horror and terrified eyes as Lucy was flung with a powerful dangerous force and landed against a large tree , I looked on in shock … my body immovable as stone as she fell to the ground completely motionless , shifting back to her human form. Everyone stood completely still for a few seconds until we all got over the shock of seeing the person we loved and cared about be thrown into the air like that and then within seconds there was chaos everywhere . Ermanno let out a loud roar and attacked Eric first , followed by his father and the rest of his brothers while James and Lucas along with Maya helped take down the witch on the opposite side .

Eric’s yelps and cries echoed throughout the forest as Lucy’s brothers and her father begun ripping him apart , all the other wolves involved in the ambush suddenly retreated at seeing their leader breathe his last breath . I eventually closed out all of the sounds around me as all I could see was Lucy bleeding and unmoving before my eyes , the sight was too much for my wolf and it made me feel like someone had just stabbed a knife straight into my heart and was twisting it in the most painful way possible . As soon as I felt my feet being able to function once again I quickly shifted back to my human form and made my way to her side as fast as I could .

“Lucy.” I whispered , gently moving her bloody hair from her face . “Lucy.” I said again , my panic growing the more I saw that she wasn’t moving not even a little bit .

I hastily leaned down and lowered my ear to her nose , her breathing was very faint … along with her pulse . I had to act fast but I didn’t know what to f*****g do to save her ! If I tried to take her to a doctor I didn’t think she would be able to last that long , her pulse was already too low .

I could feel everyone crowding and surrounding us … knew that all of my pack members would be able to feel my pain through the pack link and were probably feeling the strain from it all .

I felt someone approach us but paid no attention to it , unable to take my eyes off Lucy .”You have to complete the mating ritual Austin .” Lucy’s father told me , unable to hide the worry in his voice . ” It’s the only thing possible to save her , the strength of your love and the mating bond could help defeat the effects of both the witch’s and Eric’s attack .”

I didn’t need to be told twice , whatever I could do to save the love of my life I was going to do it .

I held Lucy near me , holding her head gently in my arms before leaning down as my pack begun circling us … stay with me baby , please . Without another thought I bit down hard on her marking spot , the sound of multiple howls of every single one of my pack members echoed throughout the forest for acceptance of their luna .

As my b***d injected into Lucy’s veins ,sealing us together and fully making us one I could feel the mating bond strengthen as our minds , heart and soul connected and became one . Each shock of heavenly bliss was stronger than the last , the bond filling my wolf and I with never ending contentment and satisfaction . I would never be the same again and I was happy of that fact for it meant I truly belonged to Lucy now just as much as she belonged to me . I was finally joined to my other half , the piece of me required to finally be complete and it would have felt amazing if she was awake when it was done and hadn’t been unconscious and bleeding in my arms .

The pounding of my heart was so loud that for a minute it was all I could hear as I waited for Lucy to regain consciousness . After a few minutes of waiting and nothing happening the tension amongst us begun to rise , my body turning cold with fear and anticipation .

“I love you.. ” I whispered .” I love you Lucy , please I beg of you … please wake up for me .”

I felt my body turn to stone when nothing happened , the life draining out of me as I realized with horror and dread that the mating bond wasn’t working , everything around me started to spin , my own body turning against me .

WHY WASN’T SHE f*****g WAKING UP!
