The Alpha Prince And His Bride -
Book 2 The Alpha’s Forbidden Bride – Episode 17
The Blackners made it in such a way that they were completely separated from everyone else. It was like they had their own little kingdom, created by themselves. In order to reach, you had to be a supernatural. Humans wouldn’t be able to find this place and even if they did, they wouldn’t make it far. They didn’t like trespassers, and they didn’t care about anyone else but themselves.
“Damn, this grass is taller than we are.” Lucas grumbled as he helped clear through it with his blade.
He was right; I was beginning to think that we were lost. The Jeep had taken us as far as the track would let it, then we travelled on feet from there. We were advised to go in our human forms if we didn’t want to stir up trouble with the Blackners. I didn’t know how long we were walking for, but the further we went in, the taller the grass became. I knew that my wolf’s senses wouldn’t fail me however, there were people near, I could smell them. I was sure that my brothers could as well.
“I still think that we should have brought some of our pack members along with us.” Austin said as he pushed a branch away from his face.
“You heard what the advisors said, if we came with more men, they would see it as a threat,” I reminded him. “Besides, they’re near, if anything were to happen, they would come.”
“Guys,” Lucas said suddenly. “Are you seeing this?”
There was a massive stoned wall to the front of us that prevented us from entering. There wasn’t even a gate present, so the rumors were true.
“They weren’t lying when they said we’ll have to climb walls to get in.” Austin commented with a shake of his head.
Out of nowhere drones approached us and forced us to press up against the wall. We all stood completely still as the robot scanned us from head to toe.
“Do you think this thing is gonna shoot at us?” Lucas asked under his breath. “Nice droney. . .” he whispered as it came up closer to him just as a red light emitted from it.
“It’s not a dog Lucas.” Austin retorted.
After a few seconds the drones disappeared back into the kingdom.
We let out a breath and looked at each other. No one had warned us about that.
There were sounds coming from behind of the wall and it was only then did I spot four men at the very tip of the wall, staring down at us. They were all dressed in white shirts and blue jeans, each of them were young and probably around our age.
“What a surprising visit,” the one with green eyes and blond hair said. “Father would be rather excited to know that we have two of the very best alphas at our door.”
I knew of the Blackners but I didn’t know any of them personally. I had no idea who these men were but since he’d mentioned his father, he definitely had to be a Blackner.
They were clearly keeping track on us as well since they already knew who we were without us having to introduce ourselves. Or maybe, the drones may have informed them. Now I understood why it was there.
“Why are you here in our territory?” The man with black hair and blue eyes asked. He looked like the eldest of the four as well as the sternest. I assumed that they were brothers since they all shared a close resemblance to each other.
“We want to ask for a favor.” I answered. I had to squint against the bright sunlight in order to see their faces clearly and even that was proving to be difficult.
His eyes narrowed. “We don’t do favors for outsiders.”
“We’re willing to do whatever you ask of us in return.” Austin offered before they could turn us away.
The other two who were awfully quiet, turned to look at each other. They said something to the one that looked like the eldest and he narrowed his eyes at us.
“Climb up,” he finally shouted even though he looked unhappy with that decision. “We’ll take you to meet father. Once he hears what you have to offer, he will decide what to do with you.”
We did as he said, once we jumped down onto the other side. It was a completely different atmosphere. Unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Even the council didn’t have such an amazing structure like this one. The buildings here were designed in a modern way, made mostly of glass. Even the grass around each property looked different from the one just outside the walls.
“Keep walking.” The angry one growled. He didn’t look like he was happy to be helping us.
“Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.” Lucas noted with an amused expression on his face.
“Not the place to make your comments Lucas.” Austin warned.
I took a look around, everyone was dressed in white. . . Well the men at least, I hadn’t seen a single woman as yet.
They all had weapons wrapped around their waist. But the four men in front of us definitely had the most. They moved like they ruled the planet, they all walked with confidence and pride. From the way that all of the men around us stopped and bowed as they walked told me that these really were the Blackners and clearly the rulers of this entire place.
No wonder they kept to themselves. They would surely stand out in a crowd and not in a good way.
I didn’t know how long we were walking for, but we eventually stopped in front of the most beautiful building I’d ever seen in my life.
It looked like a modern day palace. Made of the finest glass, there was even multiple pools on each side as soon as you walked in. Even the white floor was spotless and shiny beneath our feet.
We stopped in front of a large, black glass door. A red light emitted just like the one from the drones and the door opened as a robot voice spoke.
“Welcome, Sir Arthur Blackner.”
So that was the name of the eldest. His name sounded familiar and I believed I’d heard stories about him before. None in which seemed important right now.
“We have some special guests’ today father.” Arthur announced as we walked into a classy room with white interior.
I followed his gaze and found a man in a white suit studying us closely. His blond hair was cut short, like a soldier and his body was just as built as his sons. There was a tattoo on his neck and it was only then that I noticed that his sons also had the same tattoo on their chests.
“Arthur,” he said, his eyes never leaving us. “Call in Freya, let her bring some drinks for these men.”
As his son turned to carry out his request, he motioned for us to have a seat on the white sofa.
“We’ll stand.” Austin told him.
“What brings you men here?” He asked. His gaze was cold but still somehow welcoming, he seemed thrilled to have us here, unlike his son.
“We need a favor.”
His brows arched. “I don’t see why two of the very best alphas would possibly need our help.”
I clenched my jaw; I didn’t think I’d ever need their help either. I didn’t want to be here but I was desperate for whatever help I could get.
I would do anything to unite with Eden.
“We’re in a predicament. My mate is someone that’s pledged her life to the council. Her marriage with Hunter is already set. In order to defeat the council, as well as Hunter, I’ll need all of the help that I can get.” I explained as quickly and clearly as I could.
“Did you say Hunter?” he asked as interest sparked in his blue eyes. “There’s only one Hunter that I know of.”
“It’s the very same one you’re thinking about.” Austin answered.
He nodded. “I see now why you need my help. . . But why should I help you?”
I looked at my brothers before returning my attention to him. “We’re willing to offer our assistance to you in whatever way that you please. You can decide if you want it now or later down in life.”
He looked to be deep in thought as he played with a remote in his hand. I saw the moment that his eyes lit up as though he’d already thought of something that we could help him with.
“Before my son returns,” he said. “There is something that I want to discuss with you.”
We waited to hear what he had to say. Whatever it was, he didn’t want Arthur to know about it.
“Now, I don’t believe in mates for my children. They choose whoever they want to spend their lives with. My eldest son, Arthur, he already chose his woman.” He informed us. I wasn’t sure what this had to do with us but I let him finish. “However, she is barren. I want grandchildren to carry on our family’s legacy. As such, I’ll need someone to have his baby. Someone that isn’t tied down to a pack.”
“What does this have to do with us?”
“I want you men to find a young hybrid woman for me. One that could survive in harsh conditions and is extremely strong willed as well as a fighter. A woman that could pass on these qualities to my grandchild.” He informed us. “She should have vampire b***d in her veins as well as werewolf b***d.”
“You want us to kidnap this woman and bring her here?” I asked, appalled at his request.
“No,” he said. “The kidnapping will be quite easy for us to do. All we need you to do is find someone that fits the requirement. Remember, she mustn’t belong to a pack. It will be easier that way for us.”
Austin and I gave each other looks of discomfort; this wasn’t what we were expecting in the least. It was a lot worse.
“If we do this, you’ll help us?”
He nodded. “There is just one more thing that I want, something that I believe you men can give to me.”
My body stiffened at his words. What else could we possibly offer to him?
“So, you have a mate and I can tell that your brother there has one. . . But you,” he said as he focused on Lucas. “Did you find your mate as yet?”
Lucas had that playful look on his face like he always did as he threw a pen into the air and caught it. “Nope, I’m free for now.”
The man laughed. “That’s good to hear, after all, I was looking for a groom for my daughter.”
All the air flew out the room at his words.
The b***d drained from my head and suddenly, everything was hard to stomach.
Give Lucas away to his daughter?
Oh hell no!
