The moment his lips touched mine, I felt something inside of me awaken. It was an intense hunger and need like no other. I needed to be near him, needed to be kissed like this, needed to be much closer.

But more than that, something like a distant memory stirred to life. He wasn’t lying. This had happened here before, I could see broken images in my mind and I was positive that he’d definitely kissed me in this exact spot in the past.

But what did all of this mean? Was everything that I’ve been feeling for him all along telling me the truth? That would mean that we did have something and I wasn’t going completely insane.

That thought flew out of my head as his hand gripped my waist and his lips touched the base of my throat. I gasped as he continued to leave a trail of hungry k****s all over my neck.

He stopped above the sensitive spot right beneath my ear. I closed my eyes as he left a long sweet k**s there. “Do you know what this tattoo stands for Eden?” he whispered. “Do you know how much it tortures me every time I look at it?”

I slowly shook my head.

I’d found myself staring at the tattoo a couple of times, wondering how I’d gotten it or why. Now that he’d spoken those words, I was even more curious than before.

He lifted his head and looked me in straight in the eye. “Believe me Eden Cross, no one wants you as much as I do. I think about you every God damn second of the day. I think about holding you, kissing you, touching you. I think about doing things to your body that will make you scream my name. Every second that I’m away from you is more painful than a bullet wound. You’re the only woman I’ve ever wanted this badly and believe me when I say this, I’ll never want another woman after you. You’re it for me.”

I was left speechless. This was the last thing I ever expected him to say to me. After everything, after the way he’d avoided me, after seeing him with another woman. I never expected to ever hear those words from his mouth.

Before I could respond, he pushed my body harder against the Jeep and buried his face against my neck. I gasped as he nibbled on my shoulder before leaving a trail of k****s on my chest. “I haven’t been able to get the taste of you out of my mind.” He growled as he grabbed my breast in his hand and suckled on my n****e over the dress. The feel of the wet fabric along with his mouth pressing up against me was almost too much for me to take.

“Stop me now Eden.” He begged. “You’re the only one that can stop me now. I’ve been dreaming about touching you like this every single day since the last time I had you against me like this. You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to do this.”

His words only managed to turn me on further. It made me want him more than before.

I couldn’t stop him even if I wanted to. But that was just it, I didn’t want him to stop. Every part of my body was screaming for more, it was like my body fed on every single touch he gave to me. It held on to every one of his sweet words.

He g*****d and pulled my straps down, exposing my breasts to him.

“Do you even know how beautiful you are?” he asked. “Do you know how hard it’s been for me trying to avoid you all of this time? And then you show up with this God damn short dress and tease me, I couldn’t take my eyes off you the entire night. No matter where we are, you’re the first person I search for in a room Eden. I may try to hide that fact from you but believe me I do.”

“James!” I cried out as his free hand pushed my dress aside and grazed my panties. I felt sparks shoot out all over my body from just that simple touch. I held in a m**n as I felt myself grow wet between my legs.

“I tried to stay away, God help me I did.” He whispered. “But no one can resist you. You’re a walking temptation.”

He lowered his head and took my other n****e into his mouth and sucked hard. His hand slipped down between my legs once more and grazed my inner thigh, inching closer to the burning ache. I jerked forward and held onto his hair with a tight grip.

He paused right above my silky panties, his fingers just inches away and the wait was torture.

James buried his head in the crook of my neck and g*****d.

“I want to do so much more to you Eden.” He admitted. “So much more . . . but not like this. Not when you don’t remember me and definitely not here against this Jeep.”

I wanted to protest. My body was up in flames and I needed him more than he may know.

“Come with me.” He whispered as he let me fall from his body. “There is somewhere I wanted to show you for the longest while.”

I couldn’t catch my breath. He seemed to realize as he gently adjusted the straps in my dress and took my hand in his.

Did that really just happen? I couldn’t come to terms with anything.

We were both quiet as we walked a little distance and I was curious to know what he wanted to show to me.

“Close your eyes.”

I looked at him in confusion.

“Just trust me.”

I did as he said and closed it. He slowly wrapped one arm around my waist and guided me forward. We took about fifteen steps before he stopped me.

“You can open them now.”

I slowly did as he said and heard myself gasp as soon as the view hit me.

The bright moonlight shone right above the lake and it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. A silver of moonlight spilled all throughout the forest and I’d never seen the moon so big and close before. I continued to stare at it, for some strange reason, I felt a deep connection to the bright round thing.

“Do you like it?” James asked behind of me. I turned to look at him and he had a guarded look on his face.

How could I not like something as beautiful as this?

Before I could stop myself, I threw my arms around him and held on as tightly as I could.

I felt him stiffen a bit until his arms wrapped around me and pulled me closer against him. I smiled as I felt happiness and a sense of calmness wash over me.

“What the hell are you doing with my boyfriend?”

My eyes widened as Clara came into our view, standing right behind of us.

“Your boyfriend?” I asked, looking between the two of them.

“Why do you look so lost?” she demanded. “You saw us together and yet look how shameless you’re being.”

Her words struck at me and I felt embarrassment as well as hurt replace every other emotions I’d been feeling before.

I couldn’t believe this. After everything that just happened, now I found this out? I thought he’d said that I was the only woman he’d ever wanted like this. Then what was he doing with her?

Oh God, I was so stupid!

I pulled away from him, not bothering to even look his way.

“I’m sorry.” I apologized to Clara as I rushed away from both of them.

“Clara!” I roared. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

She looked up at me innocently, her eyes wide with fear. “You told me to act like we were in a relationship. I thought that you would want me to do something like this, to make sure that she stays away from you.”

I felt like ripping out my whole head. I wanted to be angry at her but I knew that I was the one who’d even suggested it in the first place. “I was stupid Clara. I was stupid when I asked you to do that for me. I should have never done that.” I explained. “Eden needs me. She needs me more than ever now and I’m going to make her remember me, remember everything. Just forget I ever suggested something so stupid. It was a mistake.”

She frowned. “Are you sure that’s such a good idea?”

“I know it is.” I said. “Now please, don’t do something like this again. Eden is your future Luna; treat her like that all of the time.”

She didn’t look happy but she nodded her head in understanding. “Yes Alpha, I’m sorry.”

I shook my head. “It’s my fault for suggesting it in the first place.”

Before Clara could respond, I was racing through the woods. Eden couldn’t have gotten far, even if she did reach as far as the Jeep, she couldn’t leave for I had the keys.

I found her just inches away from the vehicle and called out to her.

She stiffened but kept on walking despite my calls. I quickened my pace and pulled her towards me so that she was now pressed up against my chest.

“Please hear me out.” I begged as I searched her eyes. The look on her face completely scarred me and I knew that I would remember this moment for years to come.

Her eyes narrowed. “There is nothing you can say that would make this better.”

“Just let me explain . . . Please.”

She pushed against my chest angrily. “Explain what James?” she demanded. “Do you even know how hard it is for me to see you with another woman? Do you know how much I hate it? Do you even know? Yet you play with my feelings all along and completely lead me on.”

Her words made me feel a lot guiltier than before.

“I know. . . I know I’m stupid Eden.” I admitted. “Believe me, I know. But it isn’t the way that it seems, just let me explain everything to you. I would never lead you on. Please trust me.”

“It’s too late.” She snapped as she pushed away from me and started walking in the opposite direction.

I watched her go, my mind and heart racing.
