Episode 30

BROOKE

When we arrive outside a villa, there are many villas on the pack grounds but this one is bigger than all the rest, it is all on one floor and has a huge kitchen and dining room.

“We all come here to eat,” says Adonis as he comes to my side as I step outside the car “We treat everyone like family.”

I nod.

We head inside.

“There are nine bedrooms here, Daisy and you will share one if that is ok?” he says but we smile at him. It would be like a slumber party. I never had one of those; well I don’t think I have.

“Brooke, may I have a word?” says Joe who is standing behind me.

Adonis and Daisy take the bags and head to our room as I turn to look at Lou.

He smiles and walks to the decking, there is a frecking pool outside, a big one. I need to learn to swim.

I look over the bannister to look at the scenery that is before me as Joe takes his place to the side of me.

He sighs “Adonis told me all about you being abused by family members,” he says and looks at my arm with the cast on “I just mind link the doctor to come and take the plaster off your arm for you”

I look up and smile “Thank you” I mouthed.

Joe smiles “You are very impressive young lady. No one has a right to hurt anyone especially someone who is young,” he says but turns to look in front of him.

I can sense some emotions in him at the moment which are really too familiar to me.

He removes the cufflinks on his shirt sleeve and rolls it. He stretched his arm outward in front of me; I can’t help but look at it, a thick scar running from the wrist to the elbow joint. I look up at him with a stunned expression.

“My father used a silver blade when I was 14; he wanted to teach me a lesson for liking boys. He never understood me. He made my life a living hell. When I found Adonis, Adonis nearly killed my father due to what he did to me. His father took me in and accepted me as part of his family and his son’s mate” he says.

I run my finger along the scar; he shudders under my fingertips but doesn’t move them. I look up at him and mouth “Sorry that happened to you”

He smiles at me.

I move my finger over the scar on my neck as if a reminder of the rogue.

“I was attacked by a rogue when I was 5 and he gave me this” I mouth to him, he looks at me with sorrow in his eyes but I look away and show him my arms, they are full of all different kinds of scars from the monsters who did all this to me.

I look back at him “They used everything they could find” I mouth which makes him shudder but recovers quick.

I point to my back “I have more there too” I mouth.

I look back at the scenery and feel at peace. I close my eyes and breathe in the air. It is the first time I have done that since I got off the plane.

“Brooke, I know some sign language. Would you like me to teach you?” he says suddenly, I give the best wide smile I can muster and nod.

“Great, also,” he says and I can feel his eyes on me “I want you to know you can tell me anything and I won’t repeat it to anyone. But most importantly, you are safe here. I won’t let anything happen to you.”

I look up and for the first time, I feel at peace and also love, especially from a complete stranger. I smile.

I go straight into a hug with him which startles him at first but he soon hugs me back once he recovers.

“Well then, let’s get you to your room so you can rest up,” he says.

He takes me to my room where we find Daisy and Adonis in a hug.

Daisy has been crying as her eyes are glassy. I walk straight up to her and hug them. I don’t like seeing my friend upset. I know she is hurting.

Both men look on and we can feel some emotions but when we break away they both have composed themselves.

“We will let you both settle, have a shower. We will send some food to your rooms as you both may be tired” says Adonis.

Adonis looks at us with warmth in his eyes “We will get you back to the way you were and happy again, them mates should have their eyes and d***s checked” he says which Daisy burst out laughing and I can’t help but giggle.

Joe chuckles.

They both give us a k**s on our cheeks and leave. Daisy goes in the shower first while I sit on the bed.

I can’t help but feel so lost.

I don’t know who I am anymore.

“We will work on it together,” says Willow who is yawning in my head.

I smile. I think I’m going to love being here and it is the best place to work on yourself I think.

Not long after, Daisy comes out of the shower with a towel wrapped around her but the door knocks.

She looks at me; I was sitting on the bed reading a book that was left in the room.

Daisy opens the door and in walks a woman in a white coat with a big smile on her face, “I’m here about taking that cast off your arm and see what is happening underneath it”

I give her a wide smile; I have been waiting for this thing to be off.

After what seemed like ages, my arm is free. I have a small scar on the wrist where they operated on it but the rest of them are from the family.

The doctor smiled “It has healed nicely, now be careful with it and I would reckon to mend a nice warm shower.

I smile.

We said our goodbyes to the doctor as she left the room.

I quickly went into the shower as Daisy got ready. I wasn’t long in the shower even though it is the first shower I have had in years, it was amazing.

Once I got, Daisy was asleep on the bed, I can’t help but giggle at her.

I quickly dress into something and climb into the bed next to Daisy.

I grab the book I was reading earlier, it is about all the different types of shifters in the world “Hey Willow, do you think we could be in here?” I ask her.

She lets out a yawn “Maybe, we will have to look but Brooke you need to sleep” she says as she closes her eyes.

I can feel her gently snoring in my head which is like a soft humming sound, which within seconds sends me into a peaceful night sleep.
