Episode 45

BROOKE

As we walk through the portal, I can tell we are back in the packhouse. We are met with rows of eyes who are staring back at us all of sudden but also the look of shock across their faces.

I knew my mother’s appearance will make the whole situation be worthwhile as both Luna Sophie and the Alpha are staring back at her with wide eyes as if they have seen a ghost.

“Dan……Danica” says Luna Sophia looking at her old friend “Is that really you,” she asks quietly walking up to my mother who is smiling lovingly at her.

“It is,” she says.

“How can that be? You died?” She says “We buried you and…….” my mother stops her and pulls her into a hug, Luna Sophia looks shocked but the tears she was holding back were now flowing down her face.

Joe was in a huge embrace with Adonis but I could feel eyes on me, I looked back at the person who was staring at me, Hudson.

He stares at me as if I was not real but I can’t help feel someone else, there beside him was a woman who was the same age as me.

“That’s the human girl,” says Willow in a hiss.

I move my eyes from them as it hurts to see them so close but I’m instantly pulled into a big hug, it doesn’t take me long to realize that it was Daisy. I can’t help but breathe in her scent. She holds me “I am so happy you are back,” she says.

After a few more hugs and k****s off people, Austin is behind me glaring at Hudson but ever since I have been back he has not taken his eyes off me.

“I think we should explain some things,” says my mother looking around the room but suddenly stops “Where is Jackson?” She asks “Where is my mate?”

I look towards the alpha and Luna Sophia who feel slightly concerned and confused.

“My father where is he?” I sign. Joe translates for me.

“Jackson is in his room with his……” says Luna Sophia but stops herself quickly.

My mother looks back at her “You mean his second chance mate” she says “I know all about her, but please don’t send him here just yet as I want to explain something to you before he comes but I do have a question who is his second chance mate” she asks.

Luna Sophia looks at her “Alanna” she says but when the name is mentioned, my mother’s face looks angry and full of rage.

My mother turns around and closes her eyes “Do you know Alanna?” asks Joe who can feel the tension coming from her.

“Yeah I know her, she is not who you think she is though,” she says as she opens her eyes and turns around to look at us, her eyes are full of rage.

“Alanna was a friend of mine in a pack not too far from here; she had an eye for Jackson for many years and even tried to cause problems between us. When Jackson informed everyone that I was his mate, we all became friends but Alanna hated it” she says looking around the room “Alanna is known to work with some really powerful people in the sector and also she has known some witches back in the day, she was bad news.”

My mother moved closer to me and looked at me, she places her hand on my shoulder and closes her eyes but when they opened they were black. Suddenly I close my eyes I can feel her phoenix push through me as images of people from the pack. Willow watched as the images soon become like a movie, once she moves back and looks back at me with her normal eye colour.

I open my eyes, my mother just shared with me her memories but there are people in that pack I never knew but some seemed familiar too especially one.

I look around at some stunning faces.

Willow pushed through and speaks to them “I think you all should sit down and listen to our mother, Alanna is a traitor” she says.

“We knew we have a traitor as someone has been feeding information to the family that took you,” says the voice that I haven’t gotten out of my head; I turn and look around to find Hudson.

“You knew about the traitor when?” Willow asks looking at him.

“We found out a few hours ago but we never knew who the person was,” he says and gets up from the wall he has been leaning but our instinct kicks in and we step back which causes him to stop and look back at us hurt.

“Willow, Brooke we need…….” he tries to say but he is cut off by my mother “Hudson, there is plenty of time for both Brooke and you to talk but we need to know what you know so we can prepare for the war that is coming,” she says and comes closer to me “By the way, you grew up to be a handsome man.”

Since the whole conversation I haven’t taken my eyes off him and his eyes never leave mine either.

My mother looks at us and then back to the alpha and Luna Sophia who has been watching us the entire time “I think we need to bring Jackson and his second chance mate, don’t you?” She says.

The alpha looks at my mother with a stern look “What we going to do about Alanna? if she is with the humans who are behind this whole thing then maybe we should have her placed in the cells” he says.

I stare back at him and start to sign “I think she should come here first, I think make sure there is no word of my mother’s appearance until she comes in which Willow can deal with. Have guards here too ready to take her to the cells and place her in silver chains, we need to make sure she doesn’t have contact with them” says Joe as he translates what I am signing.

Luna Sophia looks at me and smiles “I think Brooke is right, if she doesn’t know about Danica she won’t be able to tell who ever it is that is after Brooke that she is still alive but how can you make sure she doesn’t say anything through mind link.” she says.

I smile at her “You will see soon enough” I sign. She looks at me confused. Willow smiles knowing they are going to be in for a shock with what we can do but I can feel the eyes that have not left the back of my head have been burning a hole in the spot but I turn to face him, Hudson.

He looks at me “After this can we talk please” he says quietly.

I stare back at him; I c**k my head to the side as a woman comes closer to him. Willow is looking through; I remember looking at her before out of the window. She is the one who Hudson prefers over me.

I look away without answering him. I can feel his hurt as his emotions come through to me.

I walk over to the chair by Daisy who has been quite the whole time; I take the seat next to her. She places her hand in mine and gives it squeezes as the alpha sends word for my father and his mate to come.
