Episode 54

BROOKE

I can’t help but tremble beside Hudson as I stare back at the girl who tormented me alongside her mother for the last few years of my life.

“Let me out” says Willow with a hiss “I will kill her.”

“You can’t show yourself, she will tell everyone who we are” I say back to her feeling slightly uneased.

Hudson pushes me behind him which makes Madison laugh even more “WHY BE WITH SOMEONE LIKE THAT? WHEN YOU CAN HAVE SOMEONE LIKE ME?” She shouts.

I look behind me as I realize we are completely surrounded.

Two rogues slowly creep towards Hudson and they lunge at him, but he takes one of them clean out but the other one shifts into his wolf and bites on Hudson’s leg which he lets out a grunt and pulls him off him, he throws him like nothing towards the lake.

Hudson lets out a loud roar, a powerful one, and shifts into Asher in front of me. More rogues come closer and Asher runs at them as they come straight towards us.

“Brooke move” say Willow as I remember that I’ve been rooted to the spot.

I run but I am grabbed by the arm with such force and thrown towards the clearing.

I land with a thud and look up to see Madison stalking me like I’m her next meal “I’m going to enjoy this” she says with a snarl.

I look over to see Hudson surrounded by rogues.

I need to do what I can, I need to use what my mum and Joe taught me back at the realm.

I smirk slightly knowing that she doesn’t realize that what I’m going to do.

Madison lunges at me and grabs me but I duck and punch her straight in her stomach which makes her bend over and grunts out but that doesn’t stop her. I dodge everything she gives me but I hear a snap of a branch behind me and I realize that we’re not alone.

She takes the opportunity and punches me square in the face which makes me fall down on my knees “STOP f*****g ABOUT” the one from behind shouts “THE BOSS WANTS HER ALIVE” he says snarling.

I look up to see Madison stalking me again but the man from behind grabs me, he holds onto my arms as she comes closer with a needle high up in the air but in slow motion I notice someone running in between us, Hudson.

The needle hits him squarely on the shoulder and he instantly falls to the ground.

The man moves me away as the remaining rogues start to tear him apart, they bite down on his flesh but there is no sound coming from him or movement.

“I WANT OUT” hisses Willow.

I close my eyes as she pushes forward to be with me. We learnt this in the realm, when we become one our power magnifies.

My eyes fly open, to reveal one black orb and one blue eye staring back at Madison who stares back in shock “What are you?” She says.

But we don’t talk; we can feel something burning up deep inside of us as we watch the rogues attack Hudson.

The rogue, who has been holding me, suddenly screams out. We turn to face him and place our hands on him within an instant he turns to ash.

As soon as the power ignites within us, we know what we have to do.

We turn around and aim everything we have towards the rogues, I can sense people are here but I need to keep Hudson safe. He protected me from whatever they wanted to inject me with.

“I’m talking to you” screeched Madison.

We look back at her, our hands ignite with fire.

We look towards the rogues and with one swift of our hand, we burn every single rogue that descended on Hudson.

They all scream in pain as the fire takes them but after a few seconds every single rogue turns to ash.

Someone grabs my arm and turns to face us; we can’t help but smirk as we c**k our head at the person who is going to die next.

“I want to know what you are” she says through gritted teeth.

“Eat s**t” says Willow which makes Madison’s eyes pop out “How can you talk?” She says in a whisper.

Willow smirks but doesn’t say anything, Madison looks blankly at me “She’s mind linking someone” I say to Willow as I remember a few times when other people have done it.

Willow places her hand around her neck and Madison comes back, trying to gasp for air as we squeeze tighter.

“We……have…….Cody” she says through each gasp of breathing she takes.

I look back, they have Cody.

I can feel the fire ignite once more within us, the fire takes over our hands and Madison screams out but within seconds as in a puff, she is sent into ash.

I close my eyes as Willow steps back into my mind and when I open my eyes, I’m surrounded and stared at by pack members who look on in disbelief at me.

The alpha and Luna stare back at me as they crouch down beside Hudson who has not moved a single movement since they injected him with whatever it was.

Joe and my mother come running over to me with big smiles on their faces, Adonis not far behind them.

“You learned how to use incineration touch” my mother says in a surprise as she pulls me into a hug and pulls back, searching my eyes “It took me years to master it but you my darling daughter done it in a day.”

I look back at her but my eyes still fixed on Hudson.

My mother looks to where I’m looking at “He’s ok, but he has serious injuries” she says softly.

A tear slides down my face as I look back at him.

I can feel everyone’s eyes on me.

“You didn’t hurt him Brooke” says Joe who comes to my side and places his hand in mine.

“Your power will never harm Hudson as he is your mate” he says quietly.

I can see five people kneeling down and picking him up, they carry Hudson back to the pack.

I can’t move, the faces that look back at me Daisy, Rex, Alpha and Luna Sophia are stunned but I can sense fear all around me and there is enough coming off the four of them.

They turn and walk away, whispering.

I wait till there are only a few people left and I slowly walk back to the pack.

I know they have taken Hudson’s to the pack hospital but I need to see Austin, he needs to know about Cody but my mind is racing as I want to make sure Hudson’s alright.

The walk back was deadly quiet.

Joe and Adonis walk ahead of me as my mother walks alongside me.

“Brooke, you ok?” asks Willow quietly.

“I don’t know” I say in barely a whisper “There is so much going on right now and I’m worried about Hudson.”

She nods “Mate saved you” she says “He took whatever they were going to inject into us.”

I don’t say anything.

I still can’t believe he saved me.

“You know, I think you can say he has changed” she says “If he still hated humans, he won’t even have protected us like he did or even step in front of that b***h too.”

“Brooke are you ok?” asks my mother suddenly pulling me from my conversation with Willow. We were coming closer to the pack hospital.

I nod.

“You know we can go and see Hudson, see how he is” she says.

All I could do was nod my head.

We head up the hospital steps and walk inside, everyone is outside a room. I stay in the corridor away from everyone.

I can still feel everyone’s eyes on me.

“I will be out as soon as I know more about his injuries” says the doctor to everyone.

I lean on the wall and slide down till I hit the ground.

I don’t want to leave, not till I know how he is.

Tears are now flowing freely down my face.
