As soon as Brooke and Danica leave, my eyes open. I wasn’t tired; I was pissed at what I have been hearing over the last twenty-four hours. Both Asher and I were mad, everyone was blaming Brooke for what happened to us and I know no one has spoken to her as her face gave it all away just now when she was in the room.

Her tear-stained face gave it all away but when she looked at me when I opened my eyes, her relief hit me.

Brooke saved me and I am truly blessed to have such an amazing and truly magnificent mate.

The door opens and in walks, the pack doctor, who looks both startled and stunned to see me awake “Brooke healed you” he asks.

I smile and nod “Yeah she did,” I said but suddenly I frowned “How did you know?”

The pack doctor pulls a chair up to the side of the bed and sits down, he sighs “When she was here after you rescued her, I noticed her b***d was rare so I ran some tests” he says “I know what Brooke and her mum are, I was going to inform your parents but they won’t even listen to me” he says with a slight growl.

I can’t help but raise my eyebrow at him which pulls his face into a stern look “I didn’t mean anything by it” he says and sighs “I watched that poor girl cry her heart out quietly and hide from everyone. Everyone’s afraid of her especially your family and best friend.”

I glare back at him “Oh I heard everything that they were saying” I said which makes him look back at me really confused.

I sigh “The injection that Madison stabbed me with, locked me in my body and I was stuck there,” I said “It was meant for Brooke, they wanted to lock her in her body and I dread to think what they would have done to her if I didn’t step in the way.”

The doctor’s face looks on in shock but quickly recovers but the anger was written all over his face “I dread to think too” he says and looks at me “The injuries Brooke had were horrible and the scars still haven’t gone away.”

I nod but I turn to him “I will explain everything but you think you need to inform my family that I am awake” I say but snarl slightly “I need to have a word with them about the way they treated Brooke.”

The pack doctor nods and he mind links everyone to tell them that I’m awake.

After about ten minutes, my door bursts open to Daisy, my parents, Austin and Rex walking in with huge smiles on their faces.

But I glare back at them which startle them.

Before anyone could say anything “How dare you blame Brooke for all this?” I say with a growl.

My father frowns “We saw….” he says but I growl at him “You saw the end and I bet you no one never once asked Brooke what happened, did you?” I shouted at him.

He glares back “We thought she hurt you,” says my mother who stands next to my father to calm him down and looks back at me with a stern look.

“You don’t know anything,” I said “I heard you all talking.”

They all look at each other confused at me “That needle that Madison stabbed me with was meant for Brooke, it locked me inside my body and I could still hear and feel everything that was being said” I said with a snarl escaping.

I glare back at all five of them “There is a reason why Danica and Brooke, even Willow don’t tell anyone what they are and I have to say I’m not surprised that they would hide it from us all” said I.

“You know what they are,” Austin says looking back at me with wide eyes.

I nod.

“I figured it out when I was locked in my body, not only did I have to endure the rogues attacking me and I couldn’t do a single thing about it,” I said and I look between each one “Brooke saved me, she turned all the rogues and even Madison into ash.”

They all look back at me in stunned faces but my father furrows his eyebrows together “What kind of shifter can do that?” He asks.

I was about to answer when Shane, Amy and the pack doctor walk-in “A phoenix shifter” says Amy who closes the door behind them.

She looks back at me “I figured it out; there was a section on Fae creatures at the library. I went back to the library of history and researched about creatures from the Fae realms” she says with a smile.

Everyone looks dumbfounded but Amy smiles at me but glares at my family and friends “You hurt Brooke’s feelings, I won’t be surprised if Danica takes her back to the Fae world to live after the way everyone has been acting and treating her” she says.

I can’t help but feel slightly hurt at the thought of Brooke leaving here.

Daisy growls “And how would you know this?” She says glaring at Amy.

“I went and talked to Brooke before Shane got the mind link to come here. I wanted to share my findings as I know Brooke was hurting and to be fair, Willow is one pissed of phoenix too” she says.

Everyone looks at each other and then their faces change to guilt “We didn’t….” says Austin but he stops. I can see the guilt in his eyes but also tears forming too, saying that they are all are feeling the same.

Amy looks at me “I promised Brooke I would not go near you but I needed to tell you that I saw what she did but also there is a few things you need to know” she says and sighs “Phoenix shifters have only one mate in their whole lives, but when they do find that mate” she says and looks towards me then to Shane “Once she mates and you mark her, both of you will become one. She can keep you living for a long life Hudson.”

She looks back at me as a tear slips down her cheek “The only thing is she can die and come back, but if you die she will also die” she says “She won’t come back from that.”

I look back at her stunned.

Amy moves to Shane and wraps her arms around him “I never want to hurt her again but I want to make sure she is safe, there are not many of her kind left” she says.

“No there are not,” says a voice from the door. I turn to see Adonis and Joe come in. Their faces say a thousand words.

“Phoenix shifters are meant to be in the Fae world,” says Joe and he looks at me “I knew instantly who Brooke was when she came to us. I only met one in my whole life time,” he says with a small smile.

But his face turns serious “If those men find out what Danica and Brooke are, we are in a whole load of problems” he says “We need to prepare for whatever they have coming” Adonis says but he turns to face my parents with a glare “I knew what Brooke and Danika were, you treated both of the them harshly. I think you have some apologizing or even begging to do” he says to them.

My parents don’t say a word but I can tell they are sorry.

I move and get up out of bed, “Where do you think you are going” says my father coming towards me.

I shake my head “I am not staying here one more night, I want my bed and I want to be close to my mate” I said.

My father looks at me “I’m sorry Hudson, we shouldn’t have acted the way we did” he says.

I look at him “It’s not me you should be apologizing too is it” I say.

I move and everything in my body feels stiff. Rex and Shane help me out of the room with no more words being said.

They get me to my room an hour later; I walk past Brooke’s bedroom and make the boys stop.

“She’s in there,” says Asher.

I move again and head into my room, Rex and Shane make sure I’m comfortable and leave the room.

After sitting up in bed for what seemed ages, I looked towards the side door where it conjoined onto Brooke’s.

I wanted to see her.

I slowly move out of bed and walk slowly to the door. I take a breath and open it but I was startled by what was in front of it.
