The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate -
Chapter 184 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
Chloe POV
"What a stressful last twenty-four hours," Cortina sighed, still exhausted from our lack of sleep and excessive use of magic yesterday. "I agree."
After the air was cleared between Rodger and I last night, we stayed in my office talking about the past, what happened with my mom and Alpha Carlton. Hearing why I had grown up as an orphan hurt. My mother being killed because of Fire Moon Pack's prejudices and the Alpha's need to control reinforced what I had always known.
Fire Moon Pack was full of monsters. All of them. How could every single one of the ranked wolves condone taking a pregnant shewolf from her fated mate and killing her all because she was mated to a witch?
I could feel Rodger's pain. He fought through tears to tell me his entire story. When he was done, I hugged him, unable to keep my distance any longer, seeing him relive all his heartache in some misplaced attempt to confess all the ways he thought he had failed me and my mother. He didn't fail me. He was a victim too.
I must have fallen asleep, crying with Rodger in my office, because I woke up this morning in my bed with my mates on either side of me.
There was a solemn mood between the three of us. They had a long night after taking care of Boyd's possession and the fallout from his former pack being defeated. The pack members that remained were hiding out in the woods and had to be dealt with. They felt the death of their Luna, and actually came to find my mates. With their Alpha in our custody, weak from the death of his mate, they had no choice.
Beau has been acting as an intermediary between packs. Miles and Mick put the remaining pack members in the warrior center for now, under the watch of guards until we could deal with their Alpha for good.
According to my mates, not one of Redmond Moon Pack's warriors seemed the least bit sad for their fallen Luna. They were only sad for their Alpha, who I think was truly a decent leader, before he marked the wrong chosen mate. Luna Laura was a psychotic madwoman, selfish to her core, and schemed that pack into ruin.
Mick and Miles held me between them, taking as much comfort from me as I was from them. It wasn't until Rodger came knocking that we got up. My mates cleaned up and went to take care of business in the pack while Rodger stayed behind with me to talk about the things we didn't get to last night.
Starting with the secrets I had been keeping about my magic.
Rodger.... My dad was sitting across from me on the couches in the Alpha suite, staring at me with a serious expression.
"You mean you saw your wolf exuding power over all the elements? Is that what you're telling me?" Rodger asked, like he was worried about something.
"Yeah," I whispered softly, feeling nervous about telling him everything. Not just about what happened with Boyd and the snake, but with the vision I got when his sisters helped me to start regulating my magic.
"Huh," he held his head in his hands, rubbing his temples like he was getting a headache.
I was getting a headache too.
"Why didn't you tell them what you saw?" He sat back, looking haggard from all the stress.
I bit my lip, not sure how to explain why I didn't. "I, uh, I just didn't feel like I could," I whispered. "It's hard to explain, but I had this deep-rooted feeling that I couldn't say anything. The same thing happened when I touched Boyd. The only people I told were my mates."
He rubbed his hands up and down his face, then nodded. "Yeah. Thankfully, you at least told them. It wouldn't have boded well for Boyd if you hadn't." He looked at me with strained eyes. "So, you trusted the Alphas to tell them. Does that mean you trust me now too?" I shrugged. "I don't get that feeling with you. That feeling like I can't share my secrets."
"But you got it with my sisters?"
"Your sisters weren't there when Boyd first came. I don't think they were the reason."
He folded his hands over his face, thinking deeply. "Maybe your body was reacting to dark magic, like it was protecting itself. Maybe that snake man was watching you." "Maybe." I wasn't sure. I just knew I couldn't talk about what I saw in my visions both of those times. I don't really know how the two separate incidents relate to one another. KNOCK KNOCK
We both looked over towards the door to the suite as it swung open, then we both stood to our feet when we saw who it was.
"Lenny," I hurriedly walked over to him, hugging him around the waist.
Lenny chuckled, ruffling my hair. "Did you miss your favorite babysitter?"
"She didn't want to be stuck with just me," Jamie laughed from the doorway.
"I'm just glad you're okay," I stared up at him, looking at the spot where Boyd got him. He was completely healed, no trace of any poison on his skin.
"It would take a lot more than a little wolfsbane to do me in," Lenny ruffled my hair one more time, then laughed when I growled at him.
"They released you at last," Rodger came to shake his hand.
"Yeah, Mick cleared me. Said he could use my help with the Alpha they caught last night."
"With the Alpha?" I raised my eyebrows.
Lenny and Jamie exchanged a look, then Lenny looked down at me and said, "Not really help with the Alpha, but help with you."
I sighed, putting my hands on my hips. "Babysitting again?"
"Yeah," Lenny looked apologetic. "Your mates are worried about something and want us to escort you. Mick didn't say what."
"Huh."
Rodger said he had to go take care of something, and he would talk more with me later. He mentioned something about a laptop and research on a snake demon and some great goddess, but didn't say enough for me to understand what he was talking about. He gave me a hug before leaving, and unlike last night, I didn't feel any awkwardness showing him affection, or receiving it from him.
Lenny, Jamie and I walked to the detached building where the newer, hardcore cells for prisoners were. Usually they were used for rogues, so they had several security checkpoints to get in and out.
Mick was waiting for us out in the hall, a worried look on his face.
"What's wrong?" I asked, feeling his anxiety. Cortina was attentive in my head, cautious all of a sudden as well.
Mick sighed, pulling me against him and burying his nose against my nape, right over his mark. He inhaled deeply, over and over again, obviously trying to calm himself.
Once he was calmer, he said, "I fought against the urge to lock you in our room. Again."
"Why," I grabbed his face so that I could see his expression. "What's wrong?"
He shook his head, then rested his forehead on mine and closed his eyes. "You'll hear what's wrong soon." He lifted his head, looking over Lenny and Jamie. His eyes narrowed, then he said to me, "I need to ask them a question, cara. Can you head in first?" Confused, I studied his hard expression, then looked back to see Lenny and Jamie were just as confused as I was. Mick didn't waver, so I knew whatever was going on, it was serious.
I softly kissed Mick's cheek, letting him know I trusted him in whatever was going on. He rested his head on mine briefly, then smacked my ass to get me going.
The guard by the door opened it for me, and inside Miles was standing with Billy and Darren. Miles looked over as I walked in, but the other two were glaring down at the disgraced Alpha shackled to the floor, splatters of blood all around him. "Hey, baby," Miles reached his hand out for me, and I took it.
"Hey, what's going on?" I asked as the guard closed the door behind me. I gave the Alpha a hesitant glance. "Why is Mick keeping Jamie and Lenny out there?"
"They'll be right in," Miles reassured me, squeezing my hand. "I hope so, at least."
"You hope so?" I raised my eyebrows.
Darren growled, looking truly pissed off. His knuckles were covered in blood, and I suspect he was responsible for most of the mess on the floor. The Alpha looked pretty beat up, and totally defeated.
"We found out some shit that has us taking extra precautions," Billy spoke up when Miles didn't answer my question.
"What kind of shit?"
"The kind that is going to have us interrogating every fucking person in our pack and looking over our shoulders until we get some answers," Miles growled. "We have a fucking mole."

Rodger POV
As much as I felt relief from finally telling Chloe everything, confessing all my sins against her as my daughter, I feel equally weary after hearing about the secrets she was keeping too.
My daughter is so much stronger than I ever suspected she could be. I figured her magic was powerful because of how she took the wolf from her first mate and gave it to Mick, but I never thought it would be at the magnitude it was at.
She cleansed not just dark magic, but a possession from Boyd. With no formal training and no instruction. It came naturally to her, and that is what scares me the most.
After reading about the great goddess and all the myths about snakes yesterday, I'm more worried than ever about what this could mean for Chloe. If her magic was what Mr. Smith was after, more so than her body as we first suspected, I'm dreading finding out what exactly he wants to use her magic for.
If he were to find out how strong her magic really was, what other lengths would he go to to get his hands on her?
"Hey! Rodger!" Alexi called out to me, jogging after me as I stepped out of the pack house. "I was looking for you."
"Sorry," I ran a hand down my face, trying to wipe away my exhaustion. "I was talking to Chloe in the Alpha suite."
"I heard. I'm happy for you, man. But, uh, hey," he looked around nervously for a second, then leaned in and whispered, "Have you seen Cindy?"
"Cindy?" I pursed my lips, thinking, then shook my head. "Not today. Last I saw him was yesterday. Why?"
Alexi raked his hand in his hair, pacing back and forth in frustration. "Damn it. You were my last hope."
"Why?" I was suddenly worried, seeing his reaction. "Is something wrong with Cindy?"
"I don't know," he groaned. "I'm just... I don't know. Can you tell me if you find him? I think I need to go talk to the Alphas."
"Sure," I said in a daze, watching him run off towards the pack's version of a prison.
That was weird. I wonder what that was about. I'm so tired and stressed, my brain couldn't come up with anything. Maybe Alexi needed a waxing or something. I know the guys asked him to do it sometimes. Or maybe he needed help with a computer.
Thinking about computers got me worried about Chloe again. I hope Kai found out more from the research we started yesterday. Maybe Cindy will be waiting in my sister's cottage, with the laptop running for me again.
My sister's car was gone, but I knew someone was home because the lights were on inside. The cars we brought with us from Broom StiXXX were lined up in a neat row outside too. Someone had to be here. Kai's voice was the first one I heard walking in, and then I heard Cindy. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Cindy," I smiled, setting my keys on the table by the front door. "There you are. Alexi was just looking for you."
Cindy was sitting on the couch beside Kai, both of them had laptops on their laps. He looked up and smiled warmly, but he looked tired too.
"Alexi? Did he say why?"
"Not really. I don't think so, at least. I'm a bit tired, so I wasn't able to keep up with his energy."
"Huh," Cindy set the laptop on the coffee table and got up to stretch. "I had to run into town to get a few things. I just got back."
I noticed he was wearing the same clothes from yesterday, which was very unlike him. Cindy took a lot of pride in his appearance, and never went more than eight hours in a single outfit.
"Were you out all night?"
Cindy tensed. "No? What? Why?" His answers sounded a little panicked.
"Your clothes," I pointed out. "You haven't changed."
He looked down at himself and grimaced. "Uh, yeah. I haven't had time. I should probably go do that now."
"You said you were almost done debugging the laptop though," Kai was watching him curiously now.
"I can finish it when I get back."
Kai pursed his lips, and then shrugged, but he was still checking out Cindy from the corner of his eyes skeptically. Cindy was acting a little off, but I think everyone was just exhausted.
"Make sure you find Alexi. He's at the jail."
"Sure. Yep," Cindy waved, then hurried out the door, barely glancing up at me as he passed by.
"That was weird," Kai muttered.
"Yeah," I heard one of the car's ignitions starting. "Maybe he'll feel better after he gets cleaned up and changed."
