The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate -
Chapter 42 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
Chloe POV
The room was quiet as all of us sat around the table in the dining room. Cindy went to talk to Rodger on my behalf after we discovered Cameron's Beta's account. Lee was his devoted lap dog. I know Cameron's Gamma, Jackson, was good with computers. Probably more than Cindy. With Cameron's comment on that last video showing my face, I know it's just a matter of time before he finds me. It's not a maybe. It's a guarantee.
Cindy came back an hour later. I was lying in the middle of my living room on the rug, staring up at the ceiling fan, counting the rotations of the blades as my mind went crazy with every bad scenario to come. Mick was on the couch, arm propped on the back of it, staring out the window watching the sun come up. Neither of us were talking. What was there to say? That I regret last night? Did I? I feel guilty, but do I regret what we did? Do I regret becoming mates?
"Family meeting," Cindy declared. He had a fresh face clean of his usual makeup, and a thermos that had rainbow hearts all over it. "Rodger wants us in the dining room. It's BYOC. Bring your own coffee."
Now, here we all, everyone but Darren and his new mate. Kai said when he tried knocking on his door he got growled at and was told to fuck off.
It's tense. Too tense. I'm sitting between Rodger and Mick, both men tense for different reasons. Mick was having some aggressive stare-off with Boyd, and Rodger was eerily quiet.
"Chloe," Rodger sighed, holding his head in his hands. The look of disappointment on his face was making it hard to sit there without squirming. I feel horrible. I not only compromised myself, but everyone here. "You could have come to me if you needed money. I would have made sure you-"
"I didn't do it for the money," I cut him off. "Money wasn't the reason at all."
"Then why?"
I kneaded my bottom lip between my teeth, looking nervously around the table. It's no secret now. Not that it ever was a well kept secret. I really think Rodger was the only one who didn't know.
"She did it to take back control over her sexuality. She didn't get that before while mated to an abusive asshole," Mick said, surprising me.
"Don't forget the revenge," Jamie added.
"After seeing Chloe last night, I want to get revenge on the bastard too," Lenny added.
"Still," Rodger frowned. "Did it have to be on camera? Chloe, the internet is stronger than my magic in this aspect. I can't make thousands of people behind a screen forget you and your face." "I'm sorry," I looked down at the table feeling full of shame. "I should have noticed the mask fell off sooner."
"That was my fault," Mick rubbed the back of my hand. "I saw it fall but forgot about it as fast as it happened."
"You two were preoccupied with more important things," Cortina snickered.
"I don't see how you are so unphased by this. Cameron saw me! WITH Mick. What do you think he will do to Mick when he finds us?"
"Nothing," she snorted. "We won't let him."
Easier said than done.
Boyd scoffed loudly, shaking his head at Mick. "And he was who you chose? An asshole who puts his own dick over your safety."
"Watch it," Mick scowled, gripping my hand tighter.
"I thought you two hated each other," Beau said, pointing between Mick and I. "Was the lap dance that good?"
Mick looked at me, his blue eyes swimming with uncertainty. "I never hated her. Ever. The opposite of that. I've been obsessed for a long time." "Really?" I smiled, feeling shy.
"Yes," he let out an amused huff of a breath. "Even though I know you hated me."
"I didn't hate you." He gave me a look and I frowned. "Fine. I didn't like you very much."
"See," he laughed, but there was sadness in his smile.
"Then how did last night happen?" Beau asked. "Big Boyd was who I had money on getting a new mark on your neck. Not Mickey-poo."
Mick groaned in annoyance as Boyd squared his shoulders, looking at me like he was expecting an answer. I already gave him one. It's not my problem if he doesn't like it.
I squared my own shoulders. "Mick's my second chance mate."
Again, the room went silent. Winnie had just lifted his mug to take a drink of coffee, but it spilled from the side of the cup, dripping onto the table instead as he gawked at us. Riley was smiling wildly, biting his lip and elbowing Dave. "I told you," he hissed quietly. Rodger stayed quiet through all of this, observing everything. He silently brushed the hair away from my shoulder, then touched my new mark. His eyes widened, then he looked at Mick.
"You marked her. It's really your mark."
"I know," Mick said. "I was surprised too."
I furrowed my brows. What were they talking about?
"You know what this means?" Rodger said to Mick.
Mick frowned deeply. "No."
"Mick-"
"No," Mick growled, pulling me abruptly to sit in his lap. The sparks shot up my spine, and my skin broke out in delicious shivers. I could feel his possessiveness. It was different from Cameron's. I didn't dislike the feeling. "You don't know that for sure. I didn't even get a wolf. This could just be some miracle."
"Would you really deny him the chance of finding out?" Rodger's face softened. "It wasn't him that caused you to leave."
"It might as well have been."
"Mick," Rodger shook his head softly. "Even if that isn't the case, staying here is no longer safe for her. I wish there was more I could do to protect her and you here, but things will change now. She needs the protection of a pack."
"I don't want a pack," I growled. "I don't want to be tied to a selfish Alpha prick again. I won't do it."
Mick's arms tensed around me. Boyd started to snort and choke on his unrestrained laughter. The room felt tense again, and when I looked at Mick's face, it was lined with anxiety.
"What? Why are you all acting weird now? How the hell is that funny?"
"I don't know," Boyd smirked, his eyes dancing, like he was ready for something exciting. "Mick, do you know why it's funny that Chloe doesn't want to tie herself to an Alpha again?" "Boyd," Rodger said in a leveled tone.
"What? I think she should know who it is she mated to, don't you?"
"What the hell is he talking about?" I stared up at Mick, needing an explanation. When he didn't start talking right away, I pushed his arms off me. He looked hurt, which tugged at the pulsing bond inside of me, but I still needed to know what the hell Boyd was saying. I grabbed hold of his face. "What is he talking about, Mick?"
"Chloe," he whispered my name, his spiced musk scent washing over me. It took all my strength not to comfort him instead of demanding the answer he obviously didn't want to tell me. "I....l-"
"He's an Alpha," Boyd said as Mick struggled for the words. "A pathetic wolf-less one, but an Alpha nonetheless."
Cortina snarled at Boyd calling our mate pathetic, but I was frozen inside, gawking at the man I was now tied to.
I never wanted a mate again after Cameron, and I never wanted to have to submit to a selfish, womanizing, tyrannical Alpha again. I was still trying to work through the fact I had a second chance mate. Now...... How do I work through this? How do I come to terms with being mated to an Alpha again?
