The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate -
Chapter 49 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
"You may be able to protect me from just Cameron, but his entire pack is a different story. All the males in that pack are violent monsters. The Alphas and ranked members were always assholes, so all their underlings got away with everything."
"Hmph," he huffed, burying his head in my chest.
I laughed softly, combing my hands through his silky hair again. "It will be okay."
"No it won't," he mumbled against me.
"Why not?" I was having a hard time keeping the humor out of my voice, seeing him act so childish. I never expected this kind of attitude from him. If he showed me this side to him sooner, I would have easily fallen for him even before the mate bond hit us.
He sighed and lifted his head. "I don't want to stay here. Miles always got everything. He got all the love of the pack and all our parents' affection too, all because I didn't have a wolf. I don't want him taking you from me too. You are the one thing I don't think I could survive losing. Not after I made you mine." He moved up my body, his face coming just an inch from mine. "You are my miracle, Chloe."
I bit my lips, feeling the sincerity in his words. Then a blush crept its way up my neck.
"Say it like you said it before," I whispered.
He looked at me confused before realization crossed his handsome features. "Miracola mia?"
I bit back my wanton smile. "Yes. Just like that."
"Did you like me speaking Italian to you, cara mia?" He laughed deeply, his spiced musk scent fanning over my face.
"Maybe," I admitted softly, shyly wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Hmm," he leaned in close, pressing his lips to my ear. "Mi piace da morire," he husked so his breath tickled my mark, making a shiver travel over my skin. "Sei molto bella. Sei la donna più bella del mondo."
I whimpered, my hands clinging against his skin. "I love it. You could be telling me my feet stink and I have a horse face. I wouldn't care."
He laughed breathlessly. "I would never say that. I'm saying the complete opposite, actually."
"My feet smell good and I have a cow's face?"
"No," he laughed in a deep, raspy voice. "That you are the most beautiful woman in the world and I am absolutely crazy about you."
My heart was beating rapidly as a smile broke out on my face. "Smooth," I pressed my lips to his. I hesitated before I said, "I'm crazy about you too."
His eyes lit up, his smile making my soul sing. "Even though I'm kinda sorta an Alpha?"
"Despite you being kinda sorta an Alpha," I grinned, kissing his lips two more times. "I wish I got to see this side of you sooner. I may have noticed the bond a lot sooner too," I then bit my lips, "or I would have fallen for you without it." He took a shuddering breath, resting his forehead on mine, and I felt a peace travel through him. "You don't need to worry about anyone taking me from you, Mick. The bond may have been what first triggered it, but I don't want to live without you either. You're my mate."
He smiled brilliantly, but then I felt uncertainty weighing inside him again. "What about your bond with him, then?"
Cortina whimpered, this being the million dollar question in her eyes. She wanted both her mates. Not just Mick. I could feel it.
Me? I wasn't sure what I wanted. I knew I wanted Mick, and I could tell so far that Miles wasn't as horrible an Alpha as I had come to expect. I still didn't want to live under the restrictions of being a Luna again, or being forced to submit to an Alpha daily for the sake of giving him a pup. I like my freedom. I like my friends and my life. Then there was the issue of my porn star past. What Alpha wants a Luna like me, and what pack will respect a Luna that has sold her body to explore her sexual freedom?
"You're not interested in becoming an Alpha alongside your brother?" I asked to confirm before I could give him my answer.
"No," Mick shook his head. "Never."
I smiled and softly kissed his lips. "You are already my mate, Mick. If you don't have plans to stay here, I don't either."
Even as I said the words, they felt wrong. Mick's smile and the feelings of peace and contentment I felt in him kept me from saying anything about the warring conflict inside of me, and the bellowing of Cortina, who was demanding me to take my words back.
We would deal with the issue of Miles also being my mate later. For now, I just wanted to immerse myself in Mick and for us to soothe one another from the rough day we had.
Rodger POV
"Brother, I'm afraid it isn't looking good," Driana told me, her face reflecting back at me in the mirror in my bedroom. It's how we have communicated since I ran for my life from the previous Alpha of Fire Moon Pack. When I tried to go back to save what was left of my family, the only thing left in this world that was precious to me was being held captive, her life dependent on me staying away.
I had to stay away to prevent them from ending her like they did Miranda, my murdered mate, just praying that one day she could escape, and dealing with the crippling guilt on my own from the knowledge I couldn't save those that were most important to me. Now, my reluctance to act and assert myself has once again caused the one I hold most dear to be in danger from the same pack once again. This time, I will not let them get her. I will not let them tear my family apart.
"She's safe for now," I told my sister. "Even if they find this place, which I don't think they will, she isn't here. We have already removed all traces of her and she has been taking the tonic since she got here." That tonic is probably why Mick didn't pick up on her being his mate until they were already mating.
Paulina appeared on the smooth surface of the mirror, clicking her teeth together in Morris code to communicate. Paulina had bit out her own tongue twenty-one years ago to protect us before the Alpha lured out my mate and my child. When the rest of the coven had fled, she was somehow captured alone. She and Melinda were the best of friends. Paulina would have given her own life to protect my family. Paulina and Driana pretty much have given up their lives, staying behind where I could not, watching my daughter grow up from the distance, and helping her to escape when they found their chance to.
"No, she isn't alone," I told Paulina, answering the question she had just asked. "She has a second chance mate. A wolf-less alpha from a powerful Southern pack."
"Another Alpha?" Driana said in alarm.
"I know what you are going to say," I stopped her before she went on another rant. Our entire coven was destroyed because of the actions of a selfish Alpha. No one is more wary of Alphas than the three of us. "This pack isn't like the others, and she will be safest with them." I hesitated before I added, "And I think she will have two mates to fight for her. Not just one."
"Rodger!" Driana looked horrified. Paulina's eyes went wide, and her hands started to shake like she wanted to strangle my reflection.
"I will be joining them soon," I reassured them. "We all will. The entire family that we built. All of us are leaving tomorrow to protect my little girl."
"They are gathering the warriors today," Driana said. "It seems they already have a destination in mind, Rodger. I wouldn't wait too long before you set off."
"I know. We will be leaving as soon as all preparations have been made." There can't be any traces left of any of us here, or Fire Moon can use it to track us. There was only one way to overcome that, and my plans were going to be explosive. I'm not holding back when it comes to protecting my family this time.
