The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate
Chapter 66 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate

Chloe POV

Cortina ran for about twenty minutes, relishing the feel of the moist living dirt under her claws and the fresh scent of pine running through her fur, when we felt the thudding of another beast free in the forest. She pushed herself harder, not sure if the paws were from guards or some other beast, but not wanting to find out. No matter how hard she pushed herself, the thundering thrum of the creature kept getting closer and closer.

Then, Cortina started sniffing the air and suddenly came to a stop. She lifted her snout in the air, taking long mouthwatering inhales of the air as the pounding of feet got louder and louder. She stared at a fixed point between two juniper trees, hankering down like she was anchoring herself, ready for whoever it was to break through the shrubs.

Suddenly, a large, muscular dark gray wolf leaped over a large fern, steam blowing from his nostrils as he came to a stop. His vivid blue eyes were as sharp as his human's. I knew who the wolf was right away.

"Cortina, no," I said, trying to stop her from doing what I sensed her doing. Her muscles were wound tight and she sprung at Miles before I could force her to stand down.

With a playful snarl, she pounced at the gray wolf, nipping at his ears then leaping back when he crouched down in defense. I was nervous when he looked ready to attack, but then his large tongue fell out of the side of his snout, a joyous yelp leaving him as he pounced in a semi- circle around Cortina.

She answered his yelp with a light growling, taking a snap at his tail, then flinging hers in his face before she turned and sprinted for the trees. She couldn't outrun him, but she wasn't trying to. The hussy was flirting and Miles's wolf was eating it up.

They chased each other through the trees, and I just relaxed in Cortina's mind, watching their merriment with a hesitant smile. I wanted to be alone, sorting through my thoughts of everything that had happened. I had so much guilt for the trouble I was causing everyone, and this was supposed to be an escape. Seeing Cortina with Miles's wolf did make me feel better somehow. I still feel guilty, but it's a bittersweet guilt, with a tinge of happiness for my wolf.

When Cortina leapt to a clearing and crouched down on her front legs, swinging her tail in the air, that's when I stepped in.

"Hey, you whore! Stop it! Get your ass up!"

"Mind your business," she huffed, purring when the gray wolf started sniffing her, muttering wolfish grunts.

"It is my business! Mick will feel it like a betrayal!"

Cortina groaned, dropping her tail and walking in a frustrated circle. "Fine. See how you fair against the mate bond then," she snapped, then pushed me back to the seat of control. It took me by surprise and I was helpless to stop it. Miles's wolf leaped back as I shifted back to my naked form.

"Damn it, Cortina," I groaned out loud, then said in my mind, "shift back."

"No," she snorted at me. "Let's see your self-control around our mate."

"Mick is our mate," I said levelly. It was like I was forcing a child to see reason when they stubbornly wanted their way. "Did you want him to feel pain like we did with Cameron?"

"No, so hurry up and accept our second mate so he won't have to."

With that, she shut herself off, retreating back to her own consciousness, leaving me alone with a now seemingly shy wolf licking his chomps while continually averting his gaze. He sat back on his hind legs, his tail twitching wildly. He was huge, like most Alphas, and I could tell he had a powerful aura, but he just looked like an overgrown puppy to me.

I sighed. "This would be a good time to be able to mind link you."

Miles's wolf glanced at me with his blue eyes, then looked back up towards the sky, his tail swishing quickly behind him.

I chuckled softly with a smirk seeing his wolf react like Miles did when he saw me naked this morning.

"Since Cortina decided she was done for the day, you're going to have to get used to me being in the nude, pup. It's a long walk back to the packhouse," I said as I started back in that direction. I reached out and gave his wolf a brief rub under his neck as I passed by.

His wolfish grumbles had me smiling to myself as I kept walking, not waiting to see if he was following me back or not. I was maybe fifty yards into the several mile hike back when I felt him behind me again. His bourbon and vanilla scent made me shiver. I tried to play it off like it was from the breeze.

"Sorry," Miles said. "I didn't mean to disturb your run. I just.... we didn't want you out here alone."

I looked back to see him human again, my eyes dropping to his goods with a smile before looking ahead again. Maybe they are more alike than I thought.

"Cortina being a horny hussy is what ruined our run. Not you. Don't worry about it."

Miles made a choking sound, and I almost laughed out loud. His shy demeanor was definitely not like Mick.

"C-Cortina is your wolf's name?" he asked, coughing like he was changing the subject. Cortina appeared just long enough in my mind to purr in contentment hearing her second mate say her name before she slipped back out before I could force her to shift. "Yep. Cortina the hussy," I grumbled.

Miles was quiet for a little bit, following behind as I continued on ahead, trying not to turn around because, like Cortina said, it was hard to resist the bond. Especially when I knew he was naked and she planted those dreams in my head. Even now, I know she is the one conjuring up images of him naked and pushing them through to our shared space in my mind. She just wouldn't come forward to shift. Frickin' hussy.

"Ivar liked Cortina," Miles said quietly in his deep brooding voice. "He.... he liked how playful she was."

A soft smile broke on my face. Ivar. It was a strong name for a wolf. "Yeah. She hasn't been that free in a long time. Running through the woods with Rome was once her favorite thing to do."

"Rome?"

Shit. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. "Rome was Cameron's wolf." I pressed my lips together, my heart sore as I remembered the last time I had spoken to Cameron's wolf. "He was nothing like his human. He was a good mate for her. They used to play like that. His giant black wolf was scary as hell to everyone, but he was a softie for her." I then grimaced. "Cameron didn't deserve him."

Miles was quiet again for a long time, then said, "Cameron didn't deserve you either."

I snorted. "I know. He deserved to be curb stomped and a skunk for a mate."

Miles actually laughed, the sound deep and rich, causing me to look back and melt a little at the smile on his face. "Sorry," he covered his mouth like he was trying to pull the smile off his face. "I'm not laughing at your misfortune. Just.... A skunk for a mate?"

I shrugged. "A skunk might be too good for him."

"I'd feel bad for the skunk."

"Me too," I giggled. "The bastard was so desperate for a pup. He probably wouldn't have cared if it were a skunk, a rat, or anything else. He just wanted a fated breeder to give him a strong heir."

Miles's smile turned sad. "Some of those archaic packs put too much weight on shit like that. Even our elders were pushing for me to take a chosen mate to get an heir now that I had become Alpha."

Cortina was growing somewhere in the back of my mind, feeling territorial. I didn't really like hearing about Miles being forced to take a chosen Luna, even though I haven't claimed him or allowed him to claim me. It was a selfish urge, since I was still unsure. Mick didn't want to share, and said he didn't want to stay in this pack. Taking him away from Setting Sun seems wrong though. His family and friends missed him. His brother especially. And the way Nonna acted this morning, she would hunt both of us if we left this pack. I'm sure of it. I still didn't want to be a Luna again. Maybe it could be different in a pack like this, but I'm terrified of the confinement to the packhouse, being nothing but a bed slave again.
