My brother is one of the most powerful demons alive since we were kicked out of heaven... He is second to Lucifer and he trusted me with a mission to bring him this baby dragon. So I came to the city, I faked an accident so that I'm allowed to stay a few days and look for the child. But I didn't expect to find a mate at the Hospital, I didn't even know that demons can have mates, it has never happened before at least not in our era, and damn, he was beautiful and for the first time since my existence, I heard something I haven't experienced before, a pounding of my heart.

His eyes were glued on mine and was wearing a gentle smile on his lips. Jasper Altamonte is a true definition of a man, he's handsome and tall. He's a Greek god, and I know what they look like, I lived and fooled around during their rule. I'm not exaggerating. I faked memory loss and he invited me to his home.Surprisingly, my little mission was adopted by the future Queen, I was ecstatic for it will make my job easy but boy was I wrong.

I first started by befriending everyone and got closer to the nanny, Meredith, I smile when her pretty face plays in my head. I liked her a lot, everyone there was kind and friendly to me.

I tried to kidnap the dragon Prince so many times but his mummy would show up, already she didn't trust me, I could sense the moment we met and I could tell she is a powerful dragon, she couldn't recognize me as a demon because she has not fully realized her power, however, the little Prince did as soon as I wore my ring so I had to take it off, it's a ring that every demon has and it tells them exactly which rank you are.

Staying in the castle proved to be easy, Jasper made sure I had all I needed, branded clothes, servants, and every female's best friend, diamonds. The Altamonte brothers sure know how to love and spoil their women.

While I was swaying my way into everyone's hearts, I ignored my own.

I didn't realize my feelings for Jasper were intensifying too and when we made love, a new door opened for me, it was a door of wonder and love full of passion and emotions which I gladly embraced. I only wanted to be with him, and even ignored my mission. But last night, my brother sent his right-hand demon to collect me and kill everyone who stands in our way, in that case, it would have been Meredith and the guards. I manage to convince Alama to return and I'll bring them the child and here we are!

I sigh in relief as I leave the City undetected thanks to my brother's invisibility potion but I know it will wear off soon, so I step on the gas. My phone is ringing and I grab it to answer.

"Anwar, I have the kid I'm coming," I inform him. He is silent and I check if he hung up

"The dragon baby?" He doesn't believe me.

"Yes, Tihana sent me the new location and I'm on my way," I tell him and glance at the sleeping child in the backseat of the car.

I drive for about three to four hours Into a dusty tarmac until I arrive in an isolated human town where the demons are to trying to reorganize and wait for further instructions from hell since our town was destroyed by Dragons weeks ago. The new town is pretty and very organized. The humans are waving and smiling at me when they see me. I stop the car in front of a tall building. I already rented an apartment.

"Hi, baby," I smile at the child. He is still sleeping. I greet the concierge and he takes me up to my new apartment. While in the elevator he asks "Is that your son?"

"Yes," I pat Ahyan's back. I gave him something to keep him sleeping for a long time.

The man opens the door and gives me my keys,

"Enjoy your stay!" He says with a smile that I return.

It's a neat and furnished apartment. Two bedroom, sitting room, a big kitchen I won't even be using and I have a good view of the city. It's comfortable and cozy, so homey. My heart stung as I think of Jasper, he felt like home.

The child stirs as I put him on the bed. He slowly flutters his eyes open and sits up. He rubs his eyes then squints them.

"Are we at mummy and daddy yet?" He asks in a sleepy voice, Ahyan is honestly so cute. I told him I'm taking him to his parents so that he shouldn't cry when I got him.

"Not yet, hun. They say they will meet us here," I lie. An unknown feeling to me creeps in my heart? For a long time, I thought I didn't have one but meeting my mate changed. Maybe he only loved me because I disguised my true face. 'This is your face too, a small voice speaks.

I've been hearing it a lot since I found out the second Prince is my mate. I close my eyes and shut it out before looking at the baby I took from his parents, he is surprisingly calm and even smiling at me today.

Tears sting my eyes knowing what Anwar wants to do with him. He wants to extract his power. Ahyan is a powerful Dragon from a great bloodline, therefore, his energy is unmatched. It will make us more powerful as a species and they will stop looking down at us but why does it feel so wrong? I did it for my people, right? And Jasper oh my god. I betrayed my mate!

He was nothing but good to me and I stabbed him in the back like this. I get on the floor and bring my head to my hands. Crying silently. Having a mate was not part of the plan but finding one, a wolf Prince, and a good man is something I never expected. I feel tiny hands on my hair and I look up, Ahyan is looking very worried.

"Don't cry," his voice is croaked. I sniff and wipe my tears quickly. I smile at him.

"I'm not," he wipes my tears with his chubby hand.

"Are you sad?" I only nod and cry more making the child's face scowl.

"I'm missing your uncle Jasper," I confess what I'm feeling.

He sighs and sits on the floor, his back against the wall like me.

"I miss Mama and Dada too. Aunty are they coming soon?" He is looking at me expectingly and a bigger lump forms in my throat as I shake my head. Even if they tried they can't find us because we are cloaked by a powerful warlock. It's a town full of demons but living amongst the humans. Tears are beginning to form in his eyes and I get up, clearing my throat.

"I meant yes, but in a few days. Can you be with me while we wait... Without crying?" I add. He nods slowly and I ruffle his hair

"Good boy," I praise him. He grins, I noticed he likes being rewarded for behaving well.

"What do you want to eat?" I ask. I noticed Lucy gives him no choice in such matters, she's the kind who is very strict in his diet. He smiles and gets up.

"Can I have chocolate!" He squeals in excitement. His mother would kill me but he is looking at me with puppy dog eyes and I cave.

"I'm not as strong as your mom!" I groan as I grab his hand and take him to the Kitchen.

He is eating his chocolate happily while I prepare us food for later. I finally finish with the salad and we go to the salon.

"What do you want to watch?" I ask him.

"Bob the builder!"

"Yeh!" I clap as I grab the remote from the small coffee table and give him.

We spend the whole day watching cartoons and eating popcorn. It's late evening and Ahyan is sleeping on the couch now.

The doorbell sounds and I'm reluctant to check. It might be one of Anwar's people here to get the child.

I look at the little boy for a long time. He is smiling in his sleep. I trace a finger on his cheek and I find myself smiling. I see why they love him so much. Ahyan is a gift of love.

"Xena!" Someone shouts. I roll my eyes. That's my cousin, Tihana, She is a high-ranking demon-like most members of my family. I jog and open the door for her. She hugs me and smiles. Tihana is tall, beautiful and we have similar human features except her hair is blonde and shorter than mine.

"What's up, b***h," she winks and walks past me. She stops and looks at the child.

"He's actually... Cute," she comments and throws herself on the couch

"I know,"

I smile.

I tell my best friend everything that has happened and to say she's shocked it's an understatement. Tihana sighs and shakes her head.

"It must be a Mistake! Demons don't have mates!"

"I know, I thought so too but I needed him to stay longer in the city so I pretended to like him but.."

"But?" Her look is scrutinizing.

"I have strong emotions for him and Tia, I think love him," I confess. Sensing my sadness, she comes next to me and holds me kindly.

"You know it's against the law to be with people who are not our kind. How could you allow yourself to fall for the Prince!" She scolds gently. I start to cry, feeling emotional again.

"You think I don't know? I'm sure he hates me now and Ahyan? Look at him?"

"You've gotten yourself in a mess but humans say the heart wants what it wants and there is no fighting it. If you want to go back to him, you have my support," I get out of her embrace and look at her but she is serious. I do want to go back to my mate and beg for forgiveness.

"He won't take me back, I just know it,".

"But you're mates,"

I point at Ahyan, I know how much Jasper loves his nephew.

"You are taking that boy back to his parents, screw Anwar and his want for power," Tia declares.

Later in the night I get a call from my brother, they want the boy tomorrow but I won't give him to them. I've made up my mind even If I have to be banned from my society.

We are eating late, while we discuss how we will get out of the town without them noticing

"I'll come with you," Tihana says, she looks determined and I don't even fight her. She has always wanted to live a human world, she fancied the idea of finding love and enjoys living the carefree life.

"Do you think they are looking for him?" She asks in a whisper. Ahyan is busy eating to even pay attention to us right now.

"They have the most powerful warlock on their side so we just have to leave this town and they will locate Ahyan I'm sure," I inform her. Yadiel is probably using his spells to find him but he's unable to do that because this town is spelled so no one can find us. We rest for a few hours. I'm in bed with Ahyan when I realize he's awake. He is touching his bracelet absentmindedly.

"Hey, why are you awake?" He raises his eyes to meet mine and I see tears in them.

'He's missing his family, a small voice in me says. They are not his biological family but they accepted him in their hearts and he did the same.

"I'll take you to your parents in a few hours, please trust me okay. I promise,"

My eyes start to water again as regret fills my heart. I should have told the truth to Jasper sooner.

"Okay," his voice is soft.

"Who gave you this?" I ask and touch the bracelet but hiss when it burns me. I sit upright and inspect the bracelet then my fingers. There are red lines and it hurts like a b***h.

"Sorry," Ahyan says.

"Mummy says I can't take it off. It will protect me," he explains. I notice that every member has one and Jasper wears his as a necklace but it has never burnt me.

'because he accepted and trusted you as his,' the same feminine voice says. She seems all-knowing.

'And I betrayed him,' i snarl.

"I'm sorry for taking you from your parents," I tell Ahyan, he squints his eyebrows in confusion but doesn't say a word. He closes his eyes and his breathing relaxes. I smile and kiss my fingers then I put on his cheek.

A few hours later, Tia is back. I immediately sense her and leave the bed without waking Ahyan. She has a bag and is wearing an all-black outfit

A sexy crop top and leather pants and boots. Her make-up is dark. I roll my eyes, does she think this is a fashion show? She throws me similar clothes and I scowl.

"Why?" I hiss in frustration, she is enjoying this so much.

"Bad bitches wear dark and we are going against our demons here, we need to dress the part," she tells me. I click my tongue and gather what I need, which is not much anyway.

Tia shows me a bag full of cash and expensive jewelry. I gasp

"You got money?"

She nods.

"I told you I wanted to travel," she shrugs. I go to the bedroom and wake Ahyan. It takes some time but opens his eyes. I carry him in my arms and rush downstairs just as the door barge opens and we freeze. Ahyan starts to fidget and whimper as he hides in the crook of my neck.
