Chapter 62

I sighed as I opened my eyes. It was 365 days in hell of t*****e and s*****y yet it has only been a month and a week in the real world.

After months of begging death not to let me stay down in that terrible place and my brother interceding on my behalf, he finally agreed to release me but with a promise that I'll never be one of them and will come back to this realm as a human. The first few weeks after coming back here was a haze and so confusing.

A loving couple who has been mourning the death of their only daughter found me wandering near the graveyard and took me in as their own, after days of examination, the doctors said I suffered amnesia and they didn't know when I'd get my memories back. Wanting to change the environment, the family decided to take a transfer from their previous pack and came to Italy for a fresh start.

They brought me with them since I had no family and accepted me in as part of theirs. It was them and their two sons, Jacob who we call Jake and Lawrence. The family is very good to me even though they know nothing about me.

Living as a human wasn't that difficult, even though I was in a pack of wolves they didn't make me feel like an outsider.

I even made friends here and started a new life but my memories came crashing down on me yesterday when I saw him, my mate. I was playing the piano at love's cafe when I glanced over my shoulder and I saw him, his eyes were closed and his fingers were resting on his temple.

I was very confused, and as soon as I got home, I fainted. My brothers told me that I was out for nearly six hours.

When I woke up, it was late at night but I knew I had to see him. Eloise, one of my new friends invited me to a barbecue at their alpha's new house. I knew it only had to be him, my prince Jasper.

Despite my family's protest, I wore my clothes and ran outside to my car but I was stopped halfway by Jake and Lawrence.

I took my time explaining everything to them. I was an emotional mess because I was scared to lose my family whom I genuinely love.

After telling them everything about my past, surprisingly, they didn't shun me, they only hugged me and offered me a ride to Jasper's house.

But when we got here, he was already wasted and murmuring nonsense so we just decided to stay here for the night! Even in his drunken state he kept breathing in my scent and whispering sweet nothings in my ear.

I stayed in the guest bedroom as not to startle him in the morning, instead, I want to play him my favorite song.

Early morning, I go downstairs, straight to the kitchen and find the twins there.

"Hey!" They greet. I yawn and stretch my limbs.

"Making yourselves comfortable, I see," I take a barstool. Without shame, they nod. These two are identical twins, they are very close but still bicker like kids.

"Don't you have work today?" I ask them. Lawrence and Jake are taking over the family company soon.

"Don't you?" They retort.

"I called in sick," I inform them. I recently got work at a company as an assistant and they are training me. It's challenging but I love it.

"Well, we don't know how the prince will react to your presence, what if he thinks you're a ghost and tries to kill you. You're human now,"

I roll my eyes but smile at their protective nature. They make a lot of food and even after breakfast, Jasper is still not awake. I'm anticipating our meeting. The doorbell sounds and I rush to get it. It's Louise bringing me a change of clothes.

I thank and kiss her quickly on the cheek before she rushes back into the car. Her baby is there. They are always late! I chuckle. The little boy in the car waves at me,

"Bye, auntie,"

I squint my eyes as pictures of little Ahyan come to mind.

Lucy, Lucy is Ahyan's mother and I wronged them so much. I was wrong but I think what Influenced the prince of death to let me come back was her light, most demons were wary of me, saying there was a dragon's light within me. Slowly other memories flood my head, I suddenly get a migraine and hold my head in pain that I almost crouch down. Two warriors stationed outside come to check if I'm doing well. I force a smile and breath.

"Thank you, I'm alright," I tell them, they look worried still.

I continue to breathe until it goes away.

I go back into the house and call my brothers.

"Guys! Leave now before mom and dad follow you here!"

I run upstairs for a quick shower. I put on the backless dress and heels Eloise brought me. I comb my hair with a brush and put red lipstick on my lips. I stare in the mirror pleased before marching out of the room.

As I descend the stairs, I'm looking at every piece of furniture in the house. I helped select every piece.

My heart begins to beat fast.

It feels surreal that I'll be meeting him.

Will he accept me? Will he reunite with me? Oh hell, I missed Jasper.

I sit on the huge piano and close my eyes, allowing my finger to play a soft melody, a thousand years, I relate to this song so much. It's just how long I'll love Jasper, even past a thousand years. Things are looking up to us and we deserve it.

For thousands of years, I roamed the earth without anyone to love me. Now, after almost what feels like forever, I found him, lost him, and fought to get back to him. I'm never leaving him ever again. He's mine and I'll leave the rest of my human life with him. I know most of them will hate me, especially If they hear my story. But we learn from our mistakes, that's how we grow.

I feel steps down and I open my eyes, my mate is peering down on me with a small smile on his lips. He sits on the stairs as he watches me. He is silent and I squint my eyes. Won't he acknowledge me or react? Despite my turmoil I continue to play. "You look real today," He says, I understand what he means. He sees me in his dreams, I bet he thinks it's his imagination or dream.

My mate is brooding and my heart pains for him. He must have been suffering.

When I don't stop playing, he clutches his eyes shut then opens them. He c***s his neck, now shock is taking over his face, his mouth is slightly ajar while I smile and play with all of my heart. My new heart.

He slowly came to sit next to me, I look into his eyes. Jasper tilts his head, confused. His hands are shaking as he lifts them to cup my face. I shiver as electricity rushes through my body. Jasper closes his eyes and after minutes, he opens them. He lays his forehead on mine and my hands go around his waist instinctively. He is releasing low growls from his chest, I pull him to me and kiss him.

I pull away and look into his eyes,

"You taste just as I remember,"

I say against his lips. He doesn't say a word.

I crave him so much. His eyes peer at me and I'm shivering as I pant heavily.

"You're so warm, and you look real today, Xena," I chuckle and bring his hand on my chest so that he can hear the pounding of my heart.

"I'm real Jasper, I came back for you,"

Tears are brimming my eyes as I smile. A whole year without him yet it has only been a month.

realization dawns on him and he moves away quickly, knitting his eyebrows before coming back close to me.

He abruptly carries me in his arms as he gets on his feet.

"How-how? Oh, my goddess,"

Jasper now has tears in his eyes while he smiles.

"My Xena? But you died, I buried you,"

"I'm back, didn't I say I will?" I smile and hug him. I pull away to take him in close. I caress his short hair, high cheekbones, and a growing beard. I touch his brood shoulders and my eyes linger on his full lips once more. His eyes are dark and he smiles softly and nods furiously.

"You're back," he whispers breathlessly.

"I'm back, back for you, my love," I cry. He pulls me closer than we already are, possessively. Never wanting to let go.

We crush our lips against each other, our kiss is savage but passionate. My legs are wrapped around him so tightly.

As he closes the piano and puts me on top of it, he rips all pieces of clothing on my body. His eyes are dark with desire as he drinks in my naked self.

"Damn,"

I bite my lower lips and he puts a finger into my core. My breath hitches as he thrust in and out. Jasper is intently gazing at me. He pulls down his sweatpants and I gulp looking at his huge hard member. "Hmm," A moan escapes my lips.

Our movements are clumsy. We are like horny teenagers, we need control, I need control. I close my eyes and flick them open.

Jasper getting comfortable, enters in me with ease, burying himself deep before beginning to pound relentlessly. I arch my hips.

My waist is rotating and our growls and moan are filling up the living area.

The reunion is everything I imagined, this is all surreal and my eyes roll in pleasure. A few tears of happiness escape my eyes and Jasper kisses them. As we both c*m, there is silence in the room.

We are now lying down on the fluffy carpet, panting. I'm in his arms and he's holding me like tomorrow won't come.

I feel satisfied and happy, he is gently stroking my hair and I'm caressing his sides with my fingers.

"How have you been?" I finally break the silence. He takes a very long time to respond

"Every day, I wished tomorrow wouldn't come, it hurt, it hurt so much," he croaks. I swallow and lift my head to kiss his lips softly. He answers the kiss.

"It was terrible for me back in hell but I'm happy I got back to you, and we have Lucy to thank as well,"

He kisses my hair and we stay in an embrace for a long time, without care that anyone can enter the house and find us naked.

Weeks later.

My heart is full of love, gratitude, and so many indescribable emotions. After talking to my cousin Tia over the phone, I go to check on my mate, he's still in the shower I sigh. We communicate with people from the castle and I'm happy that they have accepted me into their family again.

I moved in with Jasper, and we have been living happily ever since. I visit my family regularly because mom won't stop calling me if I go three days without visiting. They have also met my mate.

This evening, I get ready for the barbecue party at the packhouse. I wear a dress and boots and tie my hair neatly. Jasper rushes out of the bathroom when I call him for the third time.

His body is wet and now, I'm wet between my legs. He connects our lips in a long passionate kiss. I jerk up when he grabs my a*s. I want him in me so badly right now but I contain myself... we have duties to fulfill as alpha and Luna of the Golden moon pack, so with all my strength I get away from him and push him towards the walk-in closet.

"Go get ready, buddy!" He is still protesting like a child but I grab him by the wrist and he follows obediently. I pick out dark blue jeans and a black muscle shirt and shoes for him. He changes into that.

Jasper steals kisses from me and in no time, I lose myself in him. We are looking into each other's eyes when we pull away.

"I love you," I say against his lips. He smirks.

"Of course, how can you not," I hit his shoulder and turn to walk away but he grabs my arm and spin me to him. We are close again and our breath is mingling. He looks into my eyes and says,

"I love you more than you know, Xena, always,"

His eyes are sincere and I don't doubt his words. I smile and we lose ourselves in an embrace. This feels so right, Jasper is right. My mate, my everything.
