The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 108 Book 2 Chapter 40

“You’re right…nobody will console you…nobody will care. It’s all your fault, you really should’ve never been born.”

Celeste looked towards the direction of the voice, finding Celia etched against the bars of her cell. “Celia…?”

“If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been in here in the first place…Zillon would’ve still loved me and I wouldn’t have had to go out on a quest for love. You stole everything from me and now because of you, I’m stuck down here with no hope of getting out. I hate you!”

Celeste stumbled over to the cell, her eyes blurring with tears. “It’s not…it’s not my fault.”

“What? Is this revenge? Revenge for all I’ve done to you…if so, then you can stop now…I have nothing, nobody loves me, nobody wants me, I learned my lesson now…”

“It’s not I…I didn’t take anything away from you, he belonged to me.”

“He was mine in the beginning, he was mine far before he became yours…but of course that doesn’t matter. You’re being unfair, you’re not sharing the love and the attention you have now…you’re keeping it all to yourself.”

“Did you share it when you had it? Did you ever think that Celeste is lonely, she needs a friend, not a bully, she needs someone to talk to, not fight against. Have you ever thought of my feelings? You’ve never cared about me even though I care so much about you. I thought I’d come see how you’re doing, but I shouldn’t have come because if our situations were reversed, you wouldn’t have come visit me.”

Celeste turned her back, wiping under her eyes.

“And does that mean that I should suffer? I was born better than you…I was born with strength and power, you’re the one who deserves to be in here. And for the record, I would’ve visited you, even if it’s only to show off. You should’ve just died on your way back.”

“You know what?” Celeste asked, her voice dry, her heart bleeding. “I’m done, I don’t think the relationship between us can ever be fixed, so I’ll stop trying. You’re evil, you’re vile…I know people can change but it really doesn’t seem like you will. I fought to come down here today because I thought you’d be at least a little civil, but you’re still the same Celia. I wanted to get rid of the gap between us before this gap also extends between the babies in my stomach…I wanted to get rid of the bad b***d, I wanted us to be twins again, so I could feel even more happier about my pregnancy, but you’re making me feel like they’ll grow up to be the same as us…and I don’t…I don’t want that.”

“Celeste…don’t think that.” Zillon butted in.

Celeste hugged around her stomach, her eyes drifting over to him. “But it’s just how I feel.”

“You’re just stressed and the longer you speak to her, the more doubt you’ll feel. Just leave it, what you guys lost cannot be replenished…let’s go.”

He grabbed Celeste’s hand, pulling her back in the direction they came, but stopped when Celia yelled something to them. “Mask…it’s called mask!”

Zillon turned back to the cell. “What?”

“It hides the werewolf scent for thirty minutes or sometimes even less depending on how potent the person’s scent is. There’s a pack that specializes in creating it, the supply is endless. Some packs purchases the expensive type, the kind that can last up to more than one day and spreads it around their packland…in doing so, you won’t be able to scent anything beyond its barrier. I think…”

Celia trailed off, eyes glancing over to Celeste. “I think whoever it is that’s killing the pack member is swift and silent enough to spread it around their prey before killing them, so you guys can’t even scent their b***d when they bleed.”

“I figured it was something like this, what’s the pack that creates it called?”

“RaeWoods pack…it’s not much of a journey from here, but if you want a quicker way to test their product, there’s… there’s some in my room.”

“Where?”

“Celeste would know, it’s in that toy crate we had as kids, the one we use to hide everything including food in. Do you remember it?”

Celeste wiped her eyes, reluctantly nodding.

“I hid something in there for you too…it’s been there for years and yet you’ve never found it.” She turned away, facing the walls. “It’s time you found it now though.”

“Bu—”

“You can talk to her later, Celeste. Now is not the time, I’ve got to find that thing and I need your help.” Zillon tightened his grip on her hand and hauled her in direction of the exit. “Liam, Fredd.”

Both nodded as they followed after him, steps quick and wide. They walked pass the guard and headed up the stairs that lead to the outside. Soon, they were out in the light of the sun.

Zillon spoke. “Are you okay to run, kitten…or are you tired in any way?”

Celeste shook her head. “I’m fine.”

“Then let’s go, we could take dad’s car if you want, it’s still parked up in front of my house, that’d be quicker.”

“B-But will I have to face my parents?” She pulled at her blouse and Zillon sighed. “I swear to god if your parents so much as look at you too hard I’m banishing them…I’ll be there beside you, don’t be scared.”
