The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 57
Celeste waved at Zillon as his dark grey wolf sped off into the distance. He had carried her here on his back and made sure she was settled in the pack house before leaving. But even so, Celeste felt anxious, her nose was overloaded with different scents, and her mind with thoughts.
She didn’t think the pack would accept her, especially since everybody came out to greet Zillon and now they just stood, staring at her. They knew she was his mate, his scent was all over her and yet nobody has stepped forward to say hello…
She honestly felt like they didn’t like her, but who would like her anyway?
Slowly turning to face them when Zillon’s wolf disappeared into the forest, she smiled. Zillon had begged her to try and create a bond, and though she was hesitant, she had to try. “I-I am Celeste a-and the future alpha’s mate.’
After her little speech, everbody stayed silent until a man stepped forward, nothing but austerity on his face. “You are not the Alpha’s mate, you’re an omega…say that instead of spouting nonsense.”
Celeste’s heart tilted in her chest, she wasn’t sure if he was shunning her or just confused about the fact that an omega was mated to an alpha. She wasn’t even sure about what to say, but nevertheless, she spoke. “I-I…I’m an omega, but I’m his m-mate too.”
“Nonsense…weak and puny, you’re no Luna…you belong to the rogues, not to this pack…”
Celeste gripped Zillon’s shirt which she wore, eyes becoming glossy. “What…what do y—”
“Weak…” The man spat, cutting her off and then the rest of the pack stepped forward too, not to defend her, but to slander her as well.
“Weak…disgusting…weak…disgusting…”
They chanted it like a spell, not stopping even when tears started to drip from Celeste’s eyes. She knew this would happen, she was confident it would, and yet still Zillon…
Celeste clenched her fist until her palms bled, her watery eyes glancing up to stare at the crowd of wolves that surrounded her. She knew she was weak, she knew she was disgusting, but did they have to spell it out to her in such a harsh way?
Well maybe they had, because it seemed Celeste was being fooled by her own self all this time.
She couldn’t be Luna, who would she be able to protect when she can’t even protect herself?
She couldn’t be Luna, alpha’s weren’t meant to be mated to the weak…
She couldn’t be Luna, she was well aware of that, but was there something wrong with at least wanting to be?
She was happy with Zillon, he was her mate after all, yet the fact that she was excessively weak could take him away from her.
Wiping at her eyes, she tried to march her way out of the room, but unfortunately, the pack members caved her, not issuing her space to push through.
“Weak… disgusting…weak…dusgusting…”
The words were becoming deafening to her ears, she wanted out now, she understood, she couldn’t be his mate, she couldn’t be Luna.
But in reality, she was his mate and if they couldn’t accept that, then she didn’t have to be their Luna.
Celeste looked for a path to push through again before opting to, but the wolves forced her back with enough pressure to have her falling back on the floor. She gasped, looking up at them.
Who did they think they are? She already had the approval of the current Alpha and Luna, she already got chosen by Zillon, why did she have to prove her worth to them? Why did she have to form a bond with them?!
Why?!
More tears flooded Celeste’s cheeks, her eyes narrowing into sharp daggers.
They weren’t going to accept her and she was not going to force them to. Sure she was weak and disgusting, but she was far better than them because never in her life would she team up and bully a pack.
Her heart wasn’t so bitter, and she wasn’t going let them devour the good of hers with the bitterness in theirs.
Standing to her feet, she pointed at them all. “This is…this is treason, I m-might be weak, I might be disgusting, but I carry the mark of your future a-alpha on my neck. All of you could be banished for this and if you don’t stop, I’ll…I’ll make sure you become rogues, ferals that walks the night… wouldn’t you be disgusting then too?”
The chanting immediately stopped and instead of being outright brazen, fear took a twist across the werewolves face.
Celeste smiled venomously at them, dusting off the back of her clothes. “Move…and if you want to be apart of a pack in the future, I’d suggest you listen. I’m going to be Luna, I won’t let go of my mate simply because you guys think I’m insufficient. So move…”
A path was created between them immediately and Celeste stepped right through it, heading up the stairs. She stopped, looking back at the group of wolves when they suddenly started to clap.
The man who had slandered her first stepped forward again, a smile laying across his lips. “Despite the fact you’re an omega, you had passed the test…”
The group separated again and Zillon stepped through the path they created, smiling up at her. “I knew you could do it, baby.”

A/N// I feel so fricking relieved, Celeste did it, she defended herself for the first time ever, I guess her stubbornness has finally come in handy.
