The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 59

“I told you…I told you not to call her a…a…a—”

Zillon patted Celeste’s head, gently pushing it back into his chest. “I swear to the goddess of the moon that before this night ends, I’m going to kill one of you.”

“B-B-But she’s your ex’s twin sister, how the f*ck did you guys get that sorted out?”

Zillon glared at Liam. “Well for starters, that’s none of your business and please stop making my mate feel uncomfortable…I really thought college would’ve changed you guys, but I guess nothing can change you but your mate’s.”

“We’re just curiously asking questions, why would that make her feel uncomfortable?”

“Well because…because there was a time when I thought of rejecting her for Celia…”

“Holy, missionary f*ck! Fredd, I told you we shouldn’t have went to college, we missed all the juicy stuff.” Liam leaned closer to Zillon, patting his shoulder. “I wonder why you chose not to reject her for Celia though? You were so hung up over the witch, see Celeste? I refrained from calling her a b*tch just for you.”

“Well dad talked me out of it, I was so blinded by what I thought was love that not even the matebond could coax me. As a result, Celeste cried a lot until one time she got tired of my sh*t and chose to cut her wrist instead.”

“Oh god no! If I was here, I’d f*ck her so good that she wouldn’t even remember that Zillon was her mate. But it seems like you were pretty harsh, why did your beautiful, little kitten not run away?”

“I really don’t know why I’m telling you two idiots the story of my life, but Kitten really was going to reject me.”

“She should’ve succeeded, if your insolence was enough to make her slit her risk, then it must’ve been bad. I can’t believe you were going to choose a whore over your mate. That girl f*cked Jonathan, Aiden and even Dave behind your back, we only never told you because you’d think we’re lying due to the fact that we didn’t like her.” This time it was Fredd who spoke.

“Yes…I guess she really should’ve rejected me, because I was a fool.” He look down at his mate, resting his chin on top of her head and only then did he smell the saltiness of her tears. “Kitten…?” He questioned worriedly, raising her head so she’d look at him.

Celeste’s averted her eyes from his immediately as she wiped her face. “Hmm?”

“What’s wrong?”

She huffed out a breath, her eyes finally meeting his. “Well you… you’re t-talking about me as though I’m not here. I-I…I—”

“Shhh, I’m sorry. Do you want to go outside? What about some fresh air?”

Celeste nodded, watching as he waved at his friends before walking her out the door. “What’s wrong?” Zillon asked, the cold breeze of the night hitting his face.

“It’s nothing…”

“People don’t cry for ‘nothing’ Celeste, there must be something. Is it because Fredd called Celia a whore?”

Celeste shook her head.

“Then what is it?”

“It’s just…just that the past isn’t something I wanted to remember…”

Zillon sighed, reaching out to pull her against his side. “You can’t detest the past kitten, it’ll always be apart of us, in fact the past was what brought us to what we are now. Just think of it as a stepping stone, it might have been rocky, it probably had been sharp, but we got over it, didn’t we?”

Celeste nodded. “I guess so, but I’ve been thinking, now that we’re together, what will Celia do? Who will she have? She probably feels just like I did and I don’t want that.”

“Don’t worry about that babe, Celia has a mate and she’ll find him soon. He’s the only one who can take care of her now, not you and not me.”

“B-But stil—”

“I understand your concern, she’s family, but there’s nothing you can do. Although you don’t detest her, she might detest you, because according to her, you have taken what’s hers.”

“B-But you’re mine.”

Zillon chuckled. “I know, I’ve always been and I always will be. So don’t worry about anyone or anything else, our mating ceremony is tomorrow, that’s the only thing you should be thinking of.”

Celeste nodded, leaning against his arm. “And we’re still going out in the human world?”

“Yes Kitten… I want to give you a gift…should I really kneel down like those stupid humans or should I not?”

“I think you shouldn’t. It’ll look weird, I’ve never seen a man kneeling to a woman in our pack before.”

Zillon laughed. “Right, I’ve never seen it either, but I mean I could be the first.”

“No…just don’t, I’ll feel awkward.”

“Yes, but wouldn’t you feel loved as well?”

Celeste shrugged. “Perhaps.”

“And that’s why I’m really going to do it, it’ll make you believe in my love for you even more.”

“Love…?” Celeste looked up at him curiously. “Do you love me?”

“I do, I love you with all my heart.”

Celeste’s heart moved in her chest at the revelation, her hand gripping onto the shirt she wore. Before now, she thought she’d never hear him say those words, back then she thought that he would never be hers, but as always, fate was the thing that lead her life. Everytime she doubted herself and Zillon, fate would always lead her down a path she never expected to be on.

Like the night that she thought she’d never be his mate…

Like that time when she thought he’d never choose her…

And like now when she doubted his love for her…

It seems fate was only cruel to her, only to be nice to her in the end… and somehow she didn’t detest it for all the pain it had previously put her through…after all she had this… she had him…

She had Zillon…

Gripping the shirt tighter, she smiled up at her mate. “Sure?”

“Positive…”

“Well then I…I love you too.”

“I know, kitte—”

Three claps boomed against their ears, cutting Zillon off, and the scent of his parents came to traumatize him.

“Look who finally decided to be a man…I guess I can call you my son now.”

“Shut up, mom.”

Celine chuckled, running in front of her mate to greet Celeste first. “We heard that you passed the test, and I wouldn’t miss the celebration for the world. I’m so proud of you sweetie.”

Celeste smiled at her. “Thank you…”

“You’re welcome and how has my bastard son been treating you?”

“Like a princess?” Gregory inquired.

Celeste nodded. “Y-Yes, he’s been treating me like a princess.”

“That’s good, but on a different note, where’s Fredd and Liam?”

“We’re here.” Two heads peeked from behind the house and Zillon glared at them. “How long were you guys there?”

“Long enough to know that you’re truly whipped.”

“I’m breaking one of your necks tonight and not even Celeste will be able to stop me.”

“Ye right, all she needs to do is say ‘meow’.”

“That’s it, Liam… You’re dead.” He loosened his arm around Celeste and marched behind Liam who had ran away. Celeste reached for him, but Celine stopped her. “Leave him, those two play rough all the time…”
