The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 77 Book 2 Chapter 9

Zillon, Xavier and Fredd walked down the dimly lit halls of the dungeon, passing guards and stepping down several stairs before finally reaching the cells.

He looked towards Liam, “Which cell is hers?”

“Cell number 18, it’s not too far, just down the end of the hall…”

Zillon walked forward, ignoring the lousy scents that resided down here, the ugly snares and the glares he received as he continued.

Liam and Fredd followed him, trying to act as calm as ever. “Will you be able to hold your composure Zillon?”

Zillon clenched his fist, shrugging. “Probably… She had been dare to me once, I won’t be able to hurt her even if I wanted to. But I do want to…I want to make her feel what I’m feeling right now, but that won’t be possible since my bloodlust isn’t enough to make me willingly kill a pack member; good or evil.”

“That’s good, because dad warned me several times about letting you get this key…your dad would kill you if you hurt her, and mine would definitely kill me and Fredd too, so let’s play cautious. Okay?”

“Okay…” Zillon nodded, stopping at the cell her scent was most prominent in… He turned to look at her, finding her leant up against the wall, wide awake. She looked just as pitiful as him, but I doubt she knew how far in the dirt what she did took him.

Sighing, he moved closer to the cell, holding tight to the bars. “It was all a lie, wasn’t it? It was never you, it had always been her, right?”

Celia shuffled on the floor, looking away from him. “And so what if it was all fake? It was fun wasn’t it? At least until she wrapped her inquisitive hands around your heart…” She shuffled against the cold concrete, eyes fixated on the walls. “She stole you away from me and now I have nothing, no one…she has everything…everyone that was suppose to be mine…”

Zillon knitted his eyebrows. “Everyone…are you talking about the pack? They were nevers yours to begin with and I was never yours either. You meant something to me, but now you don’t…you lied to me Celia and now after what you’ve done, I finally think you had cross the line…”

“I did it for me, I had my reasons. I want to be happy too, I want to be loved.”

“Did I not make it clear that you wouldn’t be able to be loved by me?”

“But if not by you then who?”

“Your mate…”

Celia chuckled hollowly. “I doubt that…you’ve taken everything away from me already, who’d want me?”

“Celia…”

Celia shook her head, swallowing hard. “I hope Celeste never comes back, I hope sh—”

Zillon shook the iron bars, growling at her. “You know where she is, don’t you? You were in on it too, otherwise, where’d you get that kind of thing from? And how would you know what to do? Your scent was untraceable that night and so was Xavier’s when I saw him in the human world…you guys did this together and I swear to god if you don’t spill the location, I’ll…I’ll…”

“You’ll what? Break my neck? Kill me? Lock me in here forever? Threaten me all you want, I will never talk…not until the right time comes.”

“The right time? There will be no right time if you’re dea—”

Fredd gripped Zillon’s shoulder, stepping in front of him. “Celia, it’s your sister we’re talking about, what if she was kidnapped? What if she’s in danger?”

“That b*tch went willingly, she didn’t hesitate to step pass the border and she neither did when she reached for his hand. I saw it with my own eyes…you’ve been searching for her for so long and she isn’t searching for you…how pitiful.”

She finally turned to face him, smiling in what seemed to be satisfaction. “Now if you’d excuse me, I need to rest, the time will soon come.”

Zillon’s grip on the bars tightened as he once again shook them. “Speak up Celia…I swear I’ll break them, I’ll tear you apart, I’ll k—”

Liam pulled Zillon back, “let her rest for now, we’ll question her tomorrow morning before the search…”

“No need to come, the location will be clear by then…” Celia laid down against the cold floor, gracefully closing her eyes after her statement.

Zillon wanted to grab her, choke her, get her to speak up, but she was stubborn, born with the b***d of a dormant beta…she wasn’t really scared of his threats, she wouldn’t submit easily…he’d probably have to kill her first.

Sighing, he loosened his grip on the bars and stepped back. “I’ll be coming back here tomorrow and if you don’t talk, I’m coming in there for you.”

He spun on his heels, heading back into the direction he came, Fredd and Liam following him.

Zillon couldn’t believe this, all his life he had spent his time thinking he owed Celia his love for being the one to make him alpha, but he didn’t owe her a thing.

He had hurt Celeste many times because of that and now he just found out that Celeste was the one who had encouraged him, she had been the girl from the cave, the one who made him alpha and yet he had hurt her for the imposter…

What a fool he was… Clenching his teeth, he walked faster, passing by the guards again and stepping up the stairs. He had to find Celeste even more now, he had to thank her and to apologize..he had to..had to…

Zillon ran a hand through his hair. Did he even deserve to apologize, how could he have not acknowledged her?

How could he have not..?

Zillon sighed, he knew now and he would never forget…
