THE BILLIONAIRE IS INFATUATED WITH HIS EX-LOVER
Chapter 26: Princess Company went bankrupt

After Mr. Roberts's death, Princess Company floundered like a headless serpent, with Mr. Scott unable to steady the company amidst its severe losses. The news of Princess facing bankruptcy spread far and wide, causing the stock prices to

plummet and investor confidence to wane, compounding the difficulties.

In reality, the funds Mr Roberts had invested in the Russell family's real estate project were 70 per cent financed through bank loans. The monthly interest payments were not insignificant. The bank issued a notice that if the principal were not repaid within three months, they would proceed to seize and appraise the assets.

Sara sat opposite Mr. Scott, seeking solutions. Mr. Scott was silent for a long time, his gaze heavy with sorrow as he spoke each word.

"We have no way out anymore, Miss. I've been with the boss since I was young, and it would truly break my heart to see Princess go bankrupt. But now that the boss is gone and the company lacks leadership, I'm sorry that there's nothing more I can do for you."

Sara wept bitterly, the lifetime of her father's efforts crumbling before her. The process of building was arduous, yet destruction proved dreadfully simple.

Sara desperately wanted to salvage her late father's legacy, but she could neither rely on the Russell family nor should she turn to Leon, not once, not ever. Now, Sara realized that no support in this world is everlasting, except that which one finds within oneself.

Across town, Leon sat alone in a vast and darkened room. Strangely, Princess's downfall did not bring him the joy he had anticipated. Instead, whenever he saw the image of Sara, pregnant and weeping beside her father's portrait at the funeral, Leon was tormented by a sense of guilt.

He had not intended to cause Mr. Roberts's demise, but his involvement in the unforeseen events was significant. Leon knew that no explanation could absolve him now. The man she had once loved most had become the one she despised the most.

Meanwhile, LT Company had risen like a colossus in the cosmetics industry in a short time, solidifying Leon's position more firmly than ever.

Every partner desired to establish a sustainable business relationship with them, their careers soaring like kites on a windy day.

Yet, none of this mattered to Leon; his focus was on Sara and their unborn child. Leon visited but hesitated to enter. He silently observed the house, once so familiar to him, now shrouded in an atmosphere of mourning, his heart touched with sympathy.

He was furious when the Vu family rejected him, but he had not anticipated such an ending. Sara would undoubtedly grow to hate him more, and he knew she would rebuff any attempt at making amends. Nevertheless, he was not prepared to give up.

Days after Mr. Roberts's funeral, Sara faced increasingly overwhelming challenges. Daily, she received numerous calls from the bank and friends who had lent Mr. Roberts money during tough times. Given Princess's dire financial situation, repayment seemed nearly impossible in the short term.

Sara felt like a ghost whenever the phone rang. The kind-hearted offered platitudes, while the unkindness was unbearable. They clung like leeches that refused to let go.

Sara leaned her head on Mr. Scott's shoulder, her sobs breaking the hearts of all who heard.

"Uncle, what should we do now?"

"Leon is the only one who can help us now."

"No, I will never seek help from the man who drove my family to ruin." Sara looked steadfastly into the weary eyes of Mr. Scott.

"If you say so, I'm also at a loss. I've tried everywhere these past few days, but everyone has refused to help us. When we were wealthy, we had no shortage of friends; now that we are in need, there is no one." Mr. Scott spoke these words of despair, unable to persuade Sara otherwise.

He understood what Sara was thinking but had suggested that course of action out of sheer desperation. Having been with Mr. Roberts from the earliest days of building the business and being his right-hand man, he couldn't bear to see Princess vanish from the cosmetics industry. Mr. Scott had watched his boss grow from a humble salesperson into a prominent business owner, and the thought of losing everything was unbearable.

After regaining her composure, Sara approached Mr. Scott with a quite different resolve.

"I believe this company may be beyond saving, but as long as I live, it will one day rise again."

"What do you mean by that? Could it be..."

Seeing Sara's unchanged, icy expression, Mr. Scott realized the implication. He cried out in anguish.

"So it's truly over, a lifetime of effort reduced to ashes."

"Don't worry too much, uncle. This vow of vengeance for my father's death will be fulfilled." Sara grasped Mr. Scott's thin hands, her words laced with bitterness.

"What do you plan to do now?"

Sara looked at her swelling belly and thought silently, "I will live for my child and avenge this wrong."

"Don't do anything foolish," Mr. Scott exclaimed, sweat beading on his brow.

Sara stared into the distance, silent, her lips sealed, but her mind was set. She would not let him live well.

"Sir, we have not yet found her, but we will continue the search until..."

"Get out! Get out of my sight," Leon roared as he hurled a wine bottle to the floor in a rage. His subordinates flinched and retreated a few steps, their eyes pleading for help towards Mark, who stood by. Seeing this, Mark gestured for them to leave quickly, then approached Leon.

"You..."

"Get out! You, too, leave. Don't come back without her," Leon snapped, cutting off Mark before he could finish.

"A pregnant woman, without a penny to her name, vanishing overnight? Tell me, are you that incompetent?"

This harsh accusation visibly upset Mark. Having been Leon's shadow for many years, being humiliated by one person felt unjust.

"I believe she's just hiding somewhere nearby. But don't worry, we will find her as long as she dies."

"Are you implying that if we don't find her, she's dead?" Leon shot Mark a piercing look that made him tremble.

"No... I didn't mean that."

"You better hope she is safe, or I won't spare you."

"Yes, yes."

Sara knew Leon had his people watching her, so she disguised herself and slipped out of the house by taking advantage of the heavy rain. She knew Leong would likely harass those close to her, leaving her no choice but to disappear completely.

Jessica offered to help, but she declined. Alone, she hailed a taxi in the pouring rain late at night. Her body was chilled to the bone, shaking with cold, but remembering all that he had done, she was determined to inflict the most profound pain on Leon.
