THE BILLIONAIRE IS INFATUATED WITH HIS EX-LOVER
Chapter 38: Mark tells Leon Jee's secret

Not wanting Leon to wait any longer, Mark took the initiative to visit him at home. Mark believed that anything involving Jee would greatly concern Leon.

Despite owning numerous villas, Leon often stayed in this apartment because it directly overlooked the villa once inhabited by Sara. Since Sara disappeared without a trace, Leon purchased this apartment to keep watch, holding onto the belief that she would return and that he would be there to see her one day.

But time seemed to mock Leon, perpetually waiting until he spotted someone who looked exactly like Sara, only to realize it was merely a physical resemblance, their identities entirely different. For some reason, Leon still felt a connection between them, despite Jee repeatedly asserting that his thoughts were misguided.

Mark entered, finding Leon already waiting for him.

"I gave you a few days to uncover the truth. Can you share everything with me today? You know I don't trust anyone but you."

Leon was right; he was a loner. Without Mark, he would have succumbed to loneliness and despair long ago.

"The child is Di Di's, and she asked me to act as the father temporarily."

Lei Ting couldn't help but burst into laughter, the sound echoing throughout the house.

"Qin Wei, what are you doing? How can you embrace a child not of your blood as your own and then confirm in the media that you have a happy family? Have you fallen for the child's mother?"

"I know it sounds absurd, but hasn't it helped the company weather the storm?"

Leon stood up, his expression growing somber. Mark was right; with this ploy, the LT company might be able to handle plummeting stock prices, investor withdrawals, and client turnarounds, which would have led to significant losses. "What are you planning to do about Ms. Jee?"

Leon, startled, turned to look at Mark, who was seriously trying not to smile.

"It doesn't matter; let's see what tricks she has left?"

"There's something I want to tell you to be cautious about. Jessica and Jee are close friends, so Jessica knows much about her. Let's start from there."

Leon's face lit up with pleasure as he commended Mark.

"I thought you were so obsessed with that girl that you'd forgotten the tasks I assigned you, but you're still on the ball. Could you find a chance to get a DNA test to see if that child is Jessica's?"

"What if the child isn't Jessica's, but Jee still refuses to acknowledge it? What will you do then?"

Mark's question made Leon uneasy; he also didn't know what to do if he reencountered Sara, given the immense pain he had caused her.

"Do you hope she will forgive you and rekindle the old flame?"

Leon didn't answer, only silently signaling Mark to leave, as he needed to be alone.

A few days after resuming her work, Jee began to loathe her acting career. Genuine people around her were scarce, and it seemed wolves were in sheep's clothing everywhere she looked. Those same people had been slandering her just days before, and now they were flattering her with pleasing words. Out of ten things they said, not one was heartfelt.

Having been warned by Henry, Liz was much more cautious. Even though she wanted to spread rumors about Jee, she no longer dared to do so openly. She was indeed frustrated, but this failure had taught her a costly lesson about how to behave if she wanted to remain in consideration within the company and not antagonize the boss's favorites.

Jessica stopped by the film set to pick up Sara for dinner. Sara waited until everyone had left before exiting through the back door, where Jessica was already waiting. The charade of Jessica and Mark pretending to be a couple needed to end quietly to avoid media scrutiny. However, Jessica found herself increasingly desiring "reel to real" emotions. She could not deny the warm feelings Mark had shown her. Unknowingly, Jessica had become unable to refuse his care and attention. "Jessica, you should stop before things go too far."

Jessica looked at Sara, sadness in her eyes. "I think you should stop seeking revenge against Leon. I'm not advising you to return to him, but you should forget him and open your heart to new love. Only then can you truly be happy." "Jessica, I'll repeat it; I won't give up. I won't let Leon be at peace as long as I live."

Alone, Sara walked down the deserted nighttime street. The passing breeze lightly tossed her long hair. She thought of her current situation-without family and love. Her daughter and the people who had helped her weather the storms were the only ones driving her to continue.

Absorbed in her thoughts, Sara didn't realize she had reached her apartment door until she heard a voice from behind.

"Sara!"

The sound was so clear that it startled her, and she turned around to see Leon standing right in front of her. His face, once robust, now appeared significantly worn. He moved quickly like a flash of lightning, embracing her before she could react. His arms tightened, his eyes meticulously scanning every feature of her face, from her forehead to her eyelashes, nose, and lips. Leon choked up with sobs.

"It's wonderful to see you again. Time may have passed, but you've never changed in my heart."

Sara pushed Leon away, but he refused to let go.

"Leon, I'm not..."

"I've done a DNA test, and Lina is our daughter. I don't blame you for deceiving me; I hope you let me care for you and our daughter."

Sara laughed bitterly through her pain.

"Do you think I still need you now? Whatever we had is over. I can no longer love you whether I am still Sara."

Sara turned her back and walked away, leaving Leonalone in his sorrow. Tears fell from the corner of his eyes, his defeat painfully apparent. Sara now truly despised him. "What must I do for you to forgive me?"

In her heart, Sara resolved that you must take what they cherish most to avenge someone. For Leon, nothing was more important than kinship, and she would not let him have his way.
