"Everything went smoothly."

The doctor reassured that the baby was perfectly healthy.

It had been a while since the siblings last saw each other.

Dominic sensed they had a lot to catch up on, so he took the initiative to discuss details with the doctor.

"Bro, how have you been lately?"

"Pretty good," Elijah nodded. "I've got the best team working on Dad's treatment. If all goes well, he might wake up soon."

Estelle's eyes instantly teared up. "Bro, I'm sorry, I should have done more "

If only she had found the best doctors earlier, maybe their dad wouldn't have been in a coma for so long.

"It's not your fault."

The Ulbrichts were on the brink of disaster, and if not for Estelle, their parents would have been gone by now.

"Just focus on your pregnancy, leave the rest to me."

Elijah hugged Estelle. "Mom misses you too. Come back home when you're ready."

"I will," she promised.

Estelle then brought up the royal engagement. "Bro, since you know Eltham, what's he like?"

"You're asking about his engagement to Brittany?"

Elijah was candid. "He's indeed a reliable man, but Ms. Lynette doesn't seem to fancy him much."

That was an understatement.

Brittany had never shown the slightest interest in Eltham.

Estelle still felt uneasy. "Got it."

After leaving the hospital, Estelle enjoyed a soup Mrs. Hartman had prepared and watched some TV with her before heading upstairs. Mrs. Hartman had always been fond of Estelle. If not for the Ulbrichts' downfall, there wouldn't have been any distance between them.

Now that Estelle was expecting and Ivy had passed on, she had taken Estelle under her wing.

"Dominic."

He brought a warm glass of milk to the study. "You and Estelle have been together for quite some time. Pick a good day and get that marriage license." They already had a child on the way; it was high time to ditch the illegitimate status!

Dominic accepted the warm milk. "Mom, I've got plans."

Just signing some papers wouldn't do justice to Estelle.

A proposal, a wedding, he wouldn't skip any of it.

"Keep an eye on the Ulbrichts, lend them a hand if they need it."

Elijah had been holding up the Ulbricht family all by himself, which was no easy task. Given their families were soon to be connected through marriage, it was only right to offer help. "Understood."

...

Knox returned to his bedroom and instructed the butler, "Keep an eye on the young lady, make sure they don't meet again."

If the royals were indeed plotting against the Lynettes, they stood no chance.

And if they were looking for trouble, Brittany and Caspian meeting in secret would give them the perfect excuse.

The butler frowned. "The young lady might not listen."

Brittany was not one to follow orders easily.

Knox sighed. "I didn't want to meddle in her affairs, but now, our hands are tied."

Brittany had no idea Knox and Isaac had met.

After returning to his room, he drank a glass of warm milk and went to bed.

The next morning, he received a call from Eltham, inviting her to an upscale gala.

Brittany accepted.

Eltham seemed pleased. "Ms. Lynette, I'll have someone send over a dress and jewelry. I'll pick you up in the afternoon." "Okay."

After hanging up, Brittany got ready and went downstairs.

Daniel was having breakfast. Seeing her, he put down his spoon and adorably called out, "Mommy."

"Sweetheart."

Brittany kissed his cheek. "Finish your breakfast, I'll take you to school."

Daniel obediently nodded.

Yuri had already left for the office.

Holden Lynette arrived late. "Morning, Bri, Daniel."

"Good morning, Uncle."

Daniel wasn't particularly fond of Holden, but he maintained the pleasantries.
