Caspian?

Brittany's heart skipped a beat. Wasn't that Isaac?

"Him?"

"Yeah, looks like he's pretty steamed."

Hannah sent over the surveillance video. After watching it, Brittany felt a headache coming on, a wave of memories she had intentionally tried to forget flooded back. That night, they had one too many drinks.

Hannah had set up a blind date for her, but ended up leaving with Derek. Brittany, drunk, had wandered to the restroom and bumped into Isaac on her way out-

And what happened next seemed all too eager on her part!

Brittany's cheeks flamed red. She grabbed her phone and dialed Isaac.

He picked up: "What's up?"

"Last time at Imperial City, did we... spend the night together?"

Brittany's voice trembled, hoping it was him.

It had to be!

Isaac chuckled lightly: "You remembered?"

"So it was you. Then why did you take off so early the next day?"

Isaac realized she got it wrong: "Take off? I went down to grab some breakfast. By the time I got back, you were gone."

"I wanted to talk to you, but then you had already headed back to Craneville..." Isaac explained smoothly: "Later, I wanted to bring it up, but you didn't mention it, so I thought you knew." Brittany felt a weight lift off her heart.

She took a deep breath: "I-"

"Passengers for Flight F2345, please begin boarding-"

"Bri, I gotta board now. We'll talk when I land. Take care."

Isaac still had one last part of his plan to execute, after which he could finally sever ties with Elijah.

Before Brittany could respond, the call ended.

She stared at the disconnected call, choosing to remain silent.

After confirming her pregnancy, Brittany was plunged into a new wave of anxiety.

She didn't like Eltham.

Nor did she want to marry him.

Especially now, pregnant.

If she could get the royal family to call off the engagement, that would be ideal... but she needed a good strategy.

Over the next few days, there was no contact between Brittany and Isaac.

Eltham was away from Craneville, giving Brittany a rare few days of peace.

Just as a meeting ended, her secretary approached her with a peculiar expression.

"Ms. Lynette, someone's here to see you, in your office."

"Who?"

Brittany thought it was work-related, but her schedule was clear for the day.

"It's Piper."

The secretary seemed uneasy: "Ms. Walker is also one of our clients; we couldn't just turn her away." Piper?

Brittany remembered meeting her before: "Got it, you can go."

Brittany pushed open her office door to find Piper lounging in a leather chair, savoring a cup of coffee with relish. "Ms. Walker, what brings you here?"

Brittany had heard of Piper, a childhood friend of Eltham's, deeply infatuated with him.

However, for some reason, the queen refused to approve their marriage.

Eltham seemed indifferent towards Piper, though they maintained a cordial relationship.

Piper set her coffee down: "Ms. Lynette, I'm here on behalf of the Walker family to discuss a partnership."

"Alright."

Brittany signaled for her secretary to bring her a juice, took a seat, and leisurely sipped her drink: "Ms. Walker, please, go ahead."
