The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel) -
Chapter 272: plotted against.
Hazel went about her day without issues. What she did not know was that she had almost lost her life that day as when Hanna who had heard from Mike that she was married had something in store for her. But nothing could get close to Hazel with Marcus watching. But someone else barely escaped with his life.
In the other side of the city, Andrew Woods coughed a mouthful of blood as he sat up from a bathtub mid bath. He could barely breath. He had returned back in the dark of night and tried to bath despite wounded.
He tumbled and fell so hard that the sound made it his way out of the room.
Several of his men were around him trying to get him out of the tub when they saw him vomit blood.
"Young Master!" someone screamed when they saw the blood and he was hurriedly carried to the bedroom. He seemed to be shivering as though having a fever, so they placed a heavy blanket under him.
An Elderly woman rushed out and came to his side. When she saw the blotches of blood, she yelped slightly.
"What is happening? Why is he bleeding?" she asked. But before she could get a response, an older woman hurried over.
"Why all the commotion?" she scolded everyone in the room. But when she saw Andrew on the bed, she panicked. She noticed his pale face and the blood on the sheets and asked what happened.
"The young master was bathing for quite a while, so I called to him to find out if he is fine. He did not respond, so I and some men entered. He was just lying there in the tub, not moving. We went over to get him out of the tub and he spat blood," someone explained. Just that moment, Andrew on the bed groaned and opened his eyes.
"Andrew," the two women hurried to his bedside. Andrew opened his eyes to find his mother and grandmother.
"What happened?" His mother, Emily asked.
"She is married," Andrew answered weakly.
"Who?" his grandmother asked.
"Hazel, the grand daughter. She is married to someone already," Andrew said, "Her husband, he did this to me when I tried to forcefully take her." His words made the room fall to freezing temperatures.
"How is that possible? If she was already married, you would at worst return, why are you injured? Are you saying you men could not protect you? Are you saying a lone girl did this?" his mother asked.
"Yes, your mother is right. If she was already married to someone, you would only meet a wall when you try to take her. There is no way it could end up with your forcibly taking her, for her husband to react. Why did you not leave?" His grandmother said. "There was no warning. It was as thought they knew I was coming. The moment my mean left the car, they were sniped down. As for the other side, I could not see their faces, but they were strong, Mother." He explained trying to take deep breaths. "How strong?" she asked.
"They took us out cleanly. They were probably military trained. They had sophisticated weapons and outnumbered us. We did not stand a chance," he explained.
"The Greyson family, they must have known she was already married," his grandmother, Janet turned around and marched out of the room.
"They dare deceive us," Emily said through her teeth and walked off after Janet.
"And for the husband who did this, we don't know who they are or if their family is powerful," Emily said to Janet.
"It doesn't help that we are in the wrong. Even if we wanted to retaliate, we have no just cause," Emily answered.
"Yet, if they find out who my grandson is and want to retaliate, they would be in the right," Janet responded.
"And from what Andrew described, the husband was powerful. He even had military power on his side. The Greyson family actually had us provoke others? Despicable," Emily said, entering the car and driving over to the Greyson family. They arrived in a Greyson home room, where the woods family and the Greysons were having a meeting with others, barging in to stand directly in front of Anthony Greyson and smashing a cup off the table in front of him. The room descended into silence. When Andrew's father, Carlos, saw his mother's out burst, he rushed over to her side, appearing beside her instantly.
"Mother, what happened?" he asked.
"You should ask, Mr. Greyson. Why are you plotting against our family?" Janet asked and tension in the room rose. If this accusation was true, the Greysons were in deep trouble. The mason family children who were there immediately came to their father's side. "We have never done anything to wrong you, talk more plot against you, explain yourself," Herald Greyson, Anthony's first son stepped forward.
"Is that so? Then why did you try to hand your already married niece to my son as a wife?" Emily said.
"Married? I have not heard that Hazel was married," Anthony answered and one of the woods family sneered.
"When I walked around town, I heard rumor that you had thrown your niece away unlike the lie you told us that she had disappeared one night. The entirety of your family knows
that you banished her from you?
family, but you dared lie to us? How could you know she was married when out don't even know where
she is?" the clansmen said.
At this point, old Madam Greyson had to step forward as she already noticed the woods family head frowning.
"I understand how this could be devastating, after all, Your family came here to make an deal through my granddaughter Hazel. We may have had a bad relationship with her mother, but she is still a daughter of our family. We have the right to marry her off," Martha's words made the woods family agitated. They actually tried to marry off a grand daughter which they no more had right to. Were they looking down on them?
“Martha, are you saying that families can remove a child from their linage and still marry her off?" Carlos asked dangerously. If the family dared to say yes, they would have no footing in high society from that moment on.
To be thrown out of you family means you are disowned You cannot be restricted by the rules of that family. To claim that they could restrict her would be damning for them as it would mean their word had no weight and Martha knew this, so she changed the topic. "What I mean to say is, this deceit is our wrong, but claiming that we are plotting against you, I think that accusation goes too far," Martha said.
"Oh? So you are admitting to knowing she was married?" her words made murmurs run through the room. Everyone knew that these actions were not ideal.
Old Madam Greyson felt a headache. She could not understand. How did Hazel suddenly get married? Why did they not hear of this? She took a deep breath to calm herself. But it did not help.
"I have no knowledge of this," Martha denied. She was telling the truth.
"I only knew she would be stubborn so I asked you to take some men with you. But I did not imagine she was married. But, what does her marriage have to do with our family sabotaging yours?" Martha asked.
"My grandson in an attempt to take
Hazel, had been attacked and injured by her husband's men," Janet said, walking closer to the Greyson family who were now frowning. They did not know the grand daughter Hazel was already married and who could she marry that would do this to the Woods men?
"My grandson's description of his encounter with the fight is that this was definitely the Green family, you have created an enemy for our family. The husband even came with an oracle to drag my grandson over to be attacked." Janet shouted.
