The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) -
Chapter 1023
His black shirt hung casually open with two buttons undone, revealing a hint of a chiseled chest and well-defined muscles that whispered of raw strength, which exuded an unmistakable masculine allure. Susan's heart was already simmering from the heat of the night, and now, it throbbed with an intensity that parched her mouth and left her tongue tied.
"Mr. Sinclair." Susan's voice barely concealed the torrent of passion within as she approached the bed, "Thalassa mentioned you weren't feeling well, so she sent me to check on you."
Lysander's eyes, which had been closed in a feigned rest, snapped open.
A sharp glacial chill pierced the air, as if the temperature had plummeted in an instant.
The sudden frosty atmosphere stung Susan's skin and halted her in her tracks. Her heart pounded with a mix of desire and trepidation as she eyed Lysander. She hadn't even touched him yet, but her breathing grew labored with anticipation.
Lysander's icy glare shot through her. Her rose-colored dress and bold makeup all stirred a deep loathing within him.
He sat up abruptly. "Get out!"
His commanding tone sent a shiver through Susan's heart, and panic set in.
Yet, panic did nothing to halt her advance. She was mere steps away from Lysander, and she wouldn't be deterred by his intimidating presence. Right now, his body must be craving the same heated touch, eager for a woman's embrace.
She was convinced that with her tempting figure and the right moves, he wouldn't stand a chance against her seduction.
Susan hesitated only for a moment before inching closer. Her voice dripped with honeyed suggestion. "Mr. Sinclair, Thalassa is truly preoccupied. Please let me take care of you. I'm quite skilled at... attending to all sorts of needs."
As she moved to sit beside him and was about to nestle into his embrace, Lysander's foot shot out with swift and ruthless precision, sending her sliding across the room. She skidded on the floor and crashed into the couch, coming to a jarring halt.
Pain lanced through Susan's abdomen. Her body was aching as though her bones were shattered. The moment she stopped sliding, her breath caught in her pain-twisted face.
"You have three seconds to disappear from my sight," Lysander's voice was devastating as if coming from the hell, "or I'll have your life!" His aura radiated lethal danger.
Susan scrambled up in terror. Ignoring the throbbing pain, she fled the room as fast as her legs would carry her.
Meanwhile, Evelyn had made her way to the 28th floor, unsure where room 2809 was. As she searched the corridor, a man, seemingly drunk, staggered toward her. Evelyn paid no mind and continued forward until he lurched uncontrollably into her path.
"Goodness, sir, are you alright?" Evelyn quickly reached out to steady him, trying to prevent a collision.
Joshua managed to regain his footing, feeling as though thousands of ants were crawling over him. His eyes clouded with inebriation as he glanced at Evelyn. Struggling to rein in his impulses, he hastily withdrew his hand from hers and muttered, "I'm fine, sorry."
With that, he continued toward his room.
In the moment the man had looked up, Evelyn caught a clear glimpse of his face-a face she recognized.
Memories flooded her mind. Her eyes widened in shock, and her heart pounded in disbelief.
