The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) -
Chapter 1464
Zephyr was initially furious, on the verge of throwing Dr. Funke out on his ear. But upon hearing Dr. Funke's claim, he gazed at him incredulously. "Are you saying that Lysander could wake up within two months?"
There was a confidence in Dr. Funke's voice that Zephyr couldn't ignore.
The renowned physicians he'd consulted before, even the esteemed Dr. Everest, had never dared to make any promises about when Lysander might awaken.
Yet there was Dr. Funke, this self-proclaimed miracle worker who had the audacity to guarantee that with his treatment, Lysander could come to in just two months!
Zephyr was not the kind of man to let some quack tamper with Lysander's health, risking more harm than good.
But Dr. Funke's words had struck a chord.
For three long years, Zephyr had exhausted every resource, consulted countless doctors to cure Lysander, all in the hope of seeing him wake up sooner. And now, out of the blue, this man was telling him he could make it happen in two months. Even if Zephyr had his doubts about the man, those words shook his skepticism to the core.
Dr. Funke met Zephyr's imposing, murky gaze with a steady eye. "As long as the family follows my treatment plan, I assure you he'll wake up within two months."
"How..."
"How do we cooperate?"
Thalassa was about to ask when Zephyr's impatient words cut in front.
Thalassa looked at Zephyr in surprise, seeing the mix of restraint and excitement on his weathered face, watching as a glimmer of hope ignited in his clouded eyes. Her heart mirrored his feelings - a tumultuous blend of elation and hope.
She had sought out Dr. Funke with a sense of desperation, not expecting much. When Dr. Funke had first examined Lysander, she had prepared herself for the worst.

But now, Dr. Funke's words offered the best possible outcome, and her breath caught with excitement.
"I'll administer daily acupuncture with silver needles, and I'll prescribe some herbal concoctions. You will need to steep the herbal concoctions and ensure he drinks them. Talk to him regularly, and move his limbs to maintain muscle memory. In two months, we'll see the results," Dr. Funke answered with earnest assurance.
Zephyr's expression was a turbulent sea of excitement, conflict, and lingering doubt.
To him, Dr. Funke was still a stranger, an unknown variable. He longed for Lysander's recovery but struggled to place his trust in the promises of a man he barely knew.
"Do you dare to guarantee that he'll wake up in two months?" Zephyr asked again, the doubt in his voice palpable.
Hearing this, Thalassa looked anxiously at Dr. Funke, worried he might walk away from the challenge.
But Dr. Funke's voice was firm. "I guarantee he'll be better in two months. If I fail, I'll surrender my medical license, pay the Sinclair family twenty million dollars, and face the scorn of the media." Dr. Funke was putting his entire career on the line.
The suspension of his license was not even the most severe part of his vow. What truly demonstrated his commitment was the willingness to face the media's censure. Dr. Funke knew full well the Sinclair family's influence was immense; should they choose to discredit him publicly, his reputation would be destroyed in an instant. If the Sinclairs spoke out, the narrative of Dr. Funke being a hack would spread like wildfire, and he would be condemned globally.
He dared to make such a perilous oath because he was absolutely sure of his ability to cure Lysander.
Zephyr saw the resolve and seriousness in his eyes.
With his breathing growing ragged from a cocktail of anticipation and repression, Zephyr took several deep breaths before finally setting his heart and making a firm decision.
