"Well, this just got interesting, didn't it? How many design proposals does Donovan's team have on the table this time? Weren't we supposed to be the buyers?" Alaric chuckled, teasing as he wheeled Lysande over to the lounge table.

Donovan quickly stood up, overly eager to please as he poured coffee for Lysander, "Mr. Sinclair, I indeed scheduled a meeting with your company's David to discuss purchasing a design proposal. Mr. Ethan also messaged me last night expressing interest in acquiring our latest designs. I thought it was just David coming, so I arranged for both, thinking of going with whoever made the more reasonable offer. I didn' expect you to come as well..."

Donovan didn't hide his nervousness, his hands trembling as he poured the coffee.

Initially, he thought David was just a minor player, who was unlikely to offer a high price for a jewelry design proposal as a buyer.

Since David was the first to arrange a meeting, he agreed to discuss it, feeling it would be rude to cancel. His plan was to meet both clients simultaneously, to see whether the Crawley Group or David would make a better offer, giving him options.

But the 'minor player' he had thought brought with him a major figure Donovan dared not offend.

Donovan was so terrified. He was terrified of upsetting Lysander.

Thalassa and Hertha exchanged surprised glances. Donovan had the audacity to invite two clients to compare prices simultaneously. And they were Starhaven's leading figures!

Lysander, Ethan, and Alaric were all influential figures in Starhaven, not to be trifled with.

Yet, Donovan had managed to bring them all together!

Thalassa and Hertha wisely remained silent, not wanting to be implicated.

Lysander lifted his gaze slightly to look at Donovan, who was pouring coffee, noticing his trembling hands and jumpy demeanor.

Lysander's deep voice sounded, "Your idea fits for a businessman. The world of business does require bold attempts."

Donovan's grip on the coffee pot paused, realizing Lysander wasn't upset about him inviting David and Ethan at the same time. Overjoyed and grateful, he bowed slightly, "Yes, yes, thank you, Mr. Sinclair, for your understanding..."

Ethan, fiddling with his coffee cup, said, "Donovan, you've put the Crawley Group in quite the spot. How can the Crawley Group compete with the Sinclair Group financially? The outcome is clear when you compare us with the Sinclair Group, isn't it?"

"Wealthy as the Sinclair Group may be, it will only purchase products of equivalent value. No need to be pessimistic, Mr. Ethan." Lysander said.

His mysterious gaze briefly met Thalassa's across the room. When they happened to lock their eyes, Thalassa felt a jolt, her brows furrowing slightly. She sensed a hidden message in his words. What did he mean by only purchasing products of equivalent value? Was he implying that the jewelry designs she and Hertha had crafted weren't worthy of The Sinclair Group's purchase? Thalassa was sure that Lysander had reviewed the documents and design sketches she and Hertha had left during their business discussion with Reginald and Callum.

Was Lysander subtly dismissing her and Hertha's designs?

"Exactly, Mr. Ethan, no need for gloom. Hiring me as your project director was the best decision you've made. I assure you, you won't leave empty-handed," Alaric said with a sly grin while gently patting Ethan on the shoulder.
