Lysander suddenly spoke.

Thalassa paused, processing Lysander's response to her earlier query. Was it meant as an explanation?

Rosalind didn't live in the Royal Estates, so what did Lysander mean by saying there were other women there besides her?

It wasn't until she noticed a maid waiting quietly to the side that Thalassa realized what Lysander meant by 'other women'-he was probably referring to the maids.

She was genuinely surprised to learn that Rosalind didn't share a residence with Lysander.

"Oh." Thalassa murmured, her voice trailing off as she continued to eat the shrimp Lysander had peeled and dipped in sauce for her, placing it into her bowl.

Lysander remained silent, diligently peeling shrimp after shrimp, all of which he placed in Thalassa's bowl.

To mask the tense and awkward atmosphere of dining with Lysander, Thalassa kept stuffing shrimp into her mouth.

She ate as many as Lysander peeled.

Soon, the table was cluttered with shrimp shells, and the plate was emptied.

Feeling overwhelmingly full and unable to take another bite, Thalassa suddenly stood up and said, "Mr. Sinclair, I'm stuffed. Thank you for the meal, but I... I should be heading out..." "Uh-huh." Lysander's voice was a low murmur, not making any attempt to stop Thalassa from leaving.

With his permission, Thalassa hurried out.

She felt like she would burst if she ate any more.

Was Lysander doing this on purpose? Peeling a whole table's worth of shrimp for her alone to eat, without touching any himself was this his way of getting back at her? After Susan failed to eliminate her, was Lysander now trying to stuff her to death to remove the thorn in Rosalind's side?

The thought alone made Thalassa shiver with dread, quickening her pace to leave.

Expecting to have to walk and hail a cab, Thalassa was surprised when the driver, Mike, approached her in the yard, saying, "Ms. Everhart, get in. I'll drive you home." "Does Lysander know about this?" Thalassa hesitated, not wanting Mike to get into trouble.

"He knows. Please, get in," Mike replied.

So, Lysander had allowed Mike to drive her home?

Not having to walk and hail a cab was definitely a plus. Without further hesitation, Thalassa opened the car door and got in.

Lysander sat by the dining table, his gaze fixed on the door, listening to the sound of the car engine starting up and fading into the distance.

His jaw was clenched tight.

When he had woken up, Zephyr told him that Thalassa had distanced herself from him, fearing she would be dragged down by his condition as a comatose patient. Deep down, he refused to believe Thalassa was that kind of person.

Yet, seeing how close she and Callum appeared, he felt compelled to consider Zephyr's words, feeling both disappointed and angry with Thalassa.

However, upon learning that Thalassa and Callum weren't involved romantically, and that it was Thalassa who had sought out Dr. Funke to treat him, and had taken care of him for three years, a strong hope surged within him.

As long as Thalassa cared about him and was willing to stay by his side, he was ready to overcome any obstacle to marry her.

His decision to bring her home was to understand her true feelings.

Yet, she had said that taking care of him and finding a doctor was merely her way of repaying a debt of gratitude.

Now that he was awake, she considered her debt repaid, and they owed nothing more to each other.

Yes, they owed nothing more to each other, a sentiment she had expressed three years ago.
