The Blind Luna -
Chapter 10
SABRINA SANTIAGO
“Thank you for the meal,” I let out with a tired yawn. “You seem sleepy, it’s already 9:30 PM! You should be asleep already,” he let out as I tried to stand up but ended up plunging the bowl that I had eaten from on the floor.
The cracking sound told me that I might have broken them. “I’m sorry, I should clean up the mess,” I said, bending down to pick up whatever broken piece that was lying on the floor. “Let me handle it?” I heard him say that but I couldn’t let him clean my mess up.
“I said let me handle it Sabrina,” he let out with a growl that showed that I was getting him upset. “You can’t possibly see what is in your front and that might cause an injury,” he said, holding my hand. “Stay put till I am done cleaning,” he ordered, making me nod.
After five minutes of standing in that position, I could sense some movement. “Alpha Kai, I’m sorry for causing you such huge trouble,” I let out, bending my gaze from embarrassment. “First of all, I do love my name to be pronounced by you without the Alpha included and secondly, you are one of the bravest people I know,” he muttered, making my heart thump.
“Now we need to get you to sleep, Mi Luz,” he let out as I felt giant hands lifting me up. “Wait,” I tried to say, but I felt a finger of his on my lips. “Shush,” he ordered. I would be lying if I were to say everything seemed normal. Was it possible for the moon Goddess to bless me with a second chance mate? Was this what having a mate felt like?
This was the thought that kept wandering in my mind as I was being taken to God knows where. “Where are we?” I asked the moment I was dropped on soft content. “Your room as you requested,” he let out.
“So, this is what a soft bed feels like,” I let out as I felt a hand on my cheeks. The fresh breath of cherry fanned my face. “He’s going to k**s us,” my wolf mind -linked, making me close my mouth with my hands. “See you tomorrow Mi Luz, your clothes will be here first thing tomorrow,” he whispered.
“Goodnight,” he let out with a chuckle, the sound of the door being closed told me he had left already. I slowly positioned myself pulling the pillow to clutch. My mind couldn’t help it as they lingered to the time Siv lent me her eyes. The beautiful feeling of seeing again swept me into a deep sleep.

I couldn’t tell where I was. It was pitch dark, and if not for the dim light the moon lent on me, I wouldn’t have known that I was standing in the middle of a long narrow road, with tall trees, which created dark images, hovering over me.
I was barefooted, and all I had on was a nightwear, which was not enough to protect my body from the chilly wind that blew in all directions, causing me to shudder. With slow steps, I began to walk forward, with my teeth clattering and my entire body shivering. I held myself with both hands, trying to keep myself warm, but it was of little or no help.
It was as though every step I took made the road even longer and narrower, but I continued walking. I needed to find a way out of this place. I could not just stand in the middle of the road, waiting for someone to save my life, when I knew there was no one to come to my rescue.
The walls began to close in on me, and with the aid of my hands, I tried to push them away, but my effort proved to be futile. My heartbeat began pounding heavily, as my teeth chattered, and I moved in circles, with confusion at my mind’s peak.
“There’s no escape from me, Sabrina,” I heard the voice of my former mate say.
My eyes searched around for him, and when they did find him, he was standing right in front of me. I turned around, wanting to run in the other direction, but again, I found him there. Anywhere I looked, he was there. He was literally everywhere, and I was on the verge of screaming, when his hands tightened around my throat, preventing any word from leaving my mouth.
I gasped for air, and beat his hands aggressively, so, he could leave me alone, but instead, the stronghold his hands had around my throat only grew tighter.
“Goodbye, Sabrina,” he said.
I was choking and couldn’t breathe. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I felt the life I had being pulled out from me. When my eyes finally closed, I heard a different voice call out my name loudly.
“Sabrina! Sabrina!”
With the last ounce of strength I possessed in me, I opened my eyes, and discovered no one was trying to strangle me to death again. I was panting hard, and kept rubbing my neck over and over again, coughing out loud.
“Sabrina, are you okay?” Alpha Kai asked.
That was when I realised, to my greatest happiness, that it had all been a nightmare. I was in Alpha Kai’s house, lying on a soft bed, and not on a narrow road, where someone was trying to end my life.
He held me in his arms, stroking my hair, and patting my back. “You’re safe now, it was just a dream,” he said to me.
In his arms, I felt safe. His warmth brought comfort and a soothing feeling to me. I was safe now, I was safe.
