The Blue Wolf -
Chapter 12
I sit there and take in everything, just told to me by Sophie and Michael. Before I’ve even digested everything, Sophie comes back in. She says “Hey Arabella since you’re like forever doomed here, do you want some food? Before you starve to death?”
To the sound of food, my tummy grumbled. I hadn’t eaten anything since I got here. She comes running towards me, grabs my arm: “I’ll take that as a yes! Come on!”
We went down a hall, then a gorgeous staircase, this entire house was beautiful. And I didn’t think it was the same one I was in before, but maybe it was, who knew? Not me.
There was a fancy chandelier in the middle of the opening of the house, once you entered the house. The kitchen was huge, it had a wood aesthetic.
There was a slightly chubby man standing there in a chef hat and chef clothes. I and Sophie both sat on the stools, the man turned around and said “What would you ladies like?” Sophie waited for my answer, when I didn’t say anything, Sophie said “What do you want Ara?” I asked “Anything?” Sophie nodded.
I looked at the chef and said “A fruit salad with honey drizzled over it.” The guy smiled and said “Excellent choice Luna.” Then he looked at Sophie. “I already know what you want. You brat.” Sophie laughed and then turned to me “So how much do you know about free Willy yet? Other than the Erika story?”
I looked over at her and said “Honestly?” She said, “Yes completely honestly.” I said “I think he’s mean and bossy. He’s too touchy. He bit me even though I heard you say not to. And even when I pleaded with him to not. He seems bipolar, all in all, I think he’s pretty much f*****g insane.”
Sophie didn’t look affected by anything I said, and just nodded, “Yeah that sounds like my brother.” At that moment, a guy who looked to be about my age came walking into the kitchen confidently. In a bad Jamaican accent, he said “Murry, you know what I want brotha, whip that shit up.” then he noticed me, “Oh shit Sophie, is this Will’s Mate? You at least could’ve warned me.” Sophie just rolled her eyes.
He came near me and opened his arms up, I became confused and looked at Sophie. Sophie said, “Nico hugs people when he meets them instead of shaking their hands cause he’s weird.” I opened my arms up, still sitting in the chair, and hugged Nico. For some reason, it didn’t feel weird at all. It felt good. Like laughing with your siblings.
Nico sat down on the stool beside me. Now I was in between Will’s siblings. The chef turned around and gave us all that we wanted. He gave me a pretty big bowl of fruit salad but I didn’t mind. I was starving. But I did wonder how he made everything so quick. Maybe he had the fruit already cut and just threw it together.
We all started eating our food when Nico said “Ara, has Will shown you our city yet?” I shook my head and chewed my fruit. When I swallowed I said “Your city?”
Sophie said “Yeah we’re a really big location here, like pack-wise. Around 8000 of us. So about forty years ago, when our grandpa was still Alpha, he built a city in this large forest hidden from the outside world. We have a four-story mall, cafes, restaurants, three theatres, buses, taxis, fast food places, gardens, two universities, two high schools, and then a big school that goes from grade one to eight. We also have an aquarium. We don’t have a zoo though. The woods sort of is a zoo in a way. We have hiking trails, mountain climbing.”
I looked at Sophie in shock “Really? That’s all true?” Nico said, “Well yeah, what did you think we were, like a large werewolf cult or something?” I laughed. “Sort of. Yeah,” Nico said “We’re allowed to leave too, like see the world, go to an outside university if we want. Have friends outside of here. They just can’t know about us though. That’s all.”‘
I thought about that for a second, and realized a life here wouldn’t be so bad, then I realized. OH F**K NO, it was getting to me. What happened to Loren. I asked with a tone of irritation in my voice. “Then why won’t your brother let me leave?” Nico said “That’s because you want to go away forever. And also he just found you. On top of everything. You’re this packs Queen. You belong here, more than anyone.”
Sophie said “Arabella. Look. Whatever you do. You can’t escape this life. So you might as well enjoy it as much as you can. It’s not like you’ll never see your fam again, invite them over for Christmas if you want. We can fly them in with our jet.”
I looked at Sophie in shock again “Jet? How rich are you guys?” Nico snorted “It’s money from a long time ago. Inherited money. Honestly, the only one out of us who knows anything about real hard work is Will.”
We all heard Will’s voice from behind us “What’s being said about Will now?”
William’s Perspective:
I only trained my warriors on Sunday. There wasn’t any need. But I liked to see their progress. And I liked to access the areas I think they needed more work on, whether it was combat, agility, stamina, fighting styles, or sometimes just a harder push.
Plus Michael. My beta, deserved a day off, at least once a week. He trained them from Wednesdays to Saturdays.
I was in my last twenty minutes of training my warriors when Sophie mind-linked me telling me that Arabella asked her about Erika, so she and Michael told Ara the story. She also let me know that before Sophie came in and introduced herself, Ara had talked to Loren when she first woke and then showered.
I was notified by Nico, that she was sitting with both my siblings comfortably eating fruit salad in my kitchen, that’s what she had asked our house chef, Murry to make for her. I took note of that. Nico was telling her about our city now, and Ara was surprised in a good way.
I told Sophie I’d be there in five minutes. I was slowly walking there now.
The truth was, Sophie was right. After I forcefully marked Ara and saw her eyes roll back, then saw her body drop to the forest floor, I did regret what I did.
She was trashing, pleading with me to not bite her, and I just couldn’t find it in me to control my urges.
After she slapped me, then ran into my washroom. I really didn’t think she’d roll herself up in blankets and jump off the roof. But that was digestible. She was trying to run away. What wasn’t digestible to me was when I saw her with Ryker, sitting with his arm around her, getting buzzed, laughing with him. The possessiveness and jealousy took over me and my wolf.
First of all, I just always had a funny feeling about that guy, so I never liked him much. But the fact that he and Ara were hanging out happily while she was showing me nothing but fear and anger kind of devastated me beyond my threshold of toleration.
I knew it’d be a long time before she’d learn to trust me. Especially now that I’d hurt her. But I thought I’d start by just trying to be her friend.
Also trying to control my wolf when I’m around her. Every time I look at her, my wolf goes wild. Pacing back and forth inside of me, with a mixture of l**t and playfulness.
I knew Arabella didn’t get my mind link message, because the first time a wolf does that to his mate, if she hears him, then he feels a warm fuzzy feeling in his chest. I just felt cold disliking from Ara. I hope she shifts soon, so she understands everything I’m saying.
I had just walked into the house now. I heard my brother talking to Ara about me. I walked until I saw the sight of her back. Even like that, she looked so elegant and graceful, with her long dark hair flowing down her shoulders and back.
I said, “What’s being said about Will now?”
My sister turned around and looked at me. “Did you just talk about yourself in the third person?” I smiled proudly “Yes Sophie I did. But what was being said about me?”
Sophie made a mischievous face. “Oh just that you’re a pretentious f**k, and nobody likes you.”
I was the strongest Alpha in the world. But it was funny, that fact did not affect my siblings at all. I noticed how Arabella was still sitting with her back to me. Not saying anything.
I walked to the other side of the counter, and said “Murry, the usual please.” Then I assessed Ara’s face and neck, cause that’s all I could see. Her face was all scratched up everywhere from falling on the forest floor several times. Then I looked at the side of her neck. I had bitten her much deeper than I needed to and suddenly, I felt a deep pang of guilt.
She looked anywhere but my eyes and kept eating her fruit salad. Through the mind link, I told Sophie and Nico to leave but come back, ready to go out in fifteen minutes.
Once they started getting up, Arabella spoke in her sweet voice “Sophie don’t go.” Sophie looked at Ara, put her hand on her shoulder, and with a smile, she said “Ara, don’t worry, I’ll be back in ten minutes. Just wanna put on something hotter than sweat pants and a sports bra before going out with you. “Ara asked “Is Nico coming too?” Nico smiled and winked at Ara “I wouldn’t miss it for the world” Nice Nico. Very nice. Ara smiled.
Once they left Ara kept eating her fruit, not looking at me. Once I sat down beside her to eat my chocolate chip pancakes, sausages, and toast, she still didn’t look at me. I said, “You can’t just keep ignoring me, Arabella.” Without looking at me she said, “Oh well of course not, how can I ignore the guy who violently attacked me?”
I turned and looked at her, anger rising in me, but I pushed it down. She still didn’t look at me. I couldn’t help myself but gaze at her for about fifteen seconds before I asked “Arabella, do you know that I’m sorry?”
She turned to look at me, with a fierceness in her eyes. I thought I saw a silver flicker in her deep brown eyes for a second. “Oh please Will, If you were sorry, you’d let me go. You’d say sorry, and let me go. But obviously, you’re not, you’re just a d**k.”
I sighed in frustration and grabbed Arabella’s forearm lightly. She pulled it away from me, got off her stool, and exited the kitchen. I didn’t know what to do. I heard the front door open then slam shut again.
I could hear her breathing just outside the door, so it meant she was just standing there or sitting on the steps.
I left half of my breakfast on the counter. Got up from my seat. I quickly ran up the stairs, to my room. I walked into my room. Grabbing my wallet from my bedside table, I sprayed some cologne on my shirt. And descended back downstairs to a very sad Ara.
When I walked out my front door. Arabella was sitting on the step, softly sniffling. I looked down at her, she was wiping her tears. I wanted to take her into my arms and never let her go. But I knew she’d just pull away from me if I tried to touch her. I asked her “What’s wrong?” She spoke sadly “I don’t want to be here. I hate it here. Just give me my stuff. Let me leave.” I said, “I can’t do that.” She said nothing after that.
Nico and Sophie walked out the door now. Sophie looked at Arabella, then looked at me raising her eyebrow “Why are you always making my sister-in-law cry? What the hell is wrong with you?” I lowly growled, “You watch it, Sophie.” Sophie said “Ooooooooh I’m so scared Willy. F*****g bite me.”
Sophie put her hand out to Ara, Ara took it and got up, then Ara and Sophie walked to my car together, they both sat in the back. Okay, so Arabella liked my siblings, but hated me, awesome.
I walked with Nico to my car. Once we got in, I pulled out of my driveway and started making my way towards the mall. It had been about ten minutes of me driving frustratedly.
Sophie told Arabella, we were going to the mall, to get Arabella’s clothes. Arabella said she wanted to use her card but Sophie told her: “No it’s my gift to you since you’ve been paired by the moon goddess to Lucifer himself, the least I can do is get you some decent clothes to wear. So you don’t have to keep wearing Willy’s lame wardrobe.”
Ara had currently been arguing for five minutes now, with my sister to use her own money “Please Sophie, just give me my backpack, I have my wallet in there, I have more than enough money, to get clothes.”
Sophie looked at Ara “Okay fine at least one then.” Arabella said, “No way, I’m not letting you buy me one whole outfit.” Sophie laughed “No Silly, one grand. I’m not letting you leave till you don’t spend at least one grand.”
Arabella gasped “No way. You are crazy if you think I’m letting you do that. Please understand. I have my own money. I’m not buying anything.”
Sophie looked Ara up and down, then strangely looked at her chest, with furrowed brows. “Okay, I got it.”
Ara said, “Got what?” Sophie laughed “The sizes to everything I’m gonna buy you.”
