The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains
Chapter 86 The Conspiracy of Smith Corporation's Mother and Daughter

Veda was in shock. "Mom, I can't believe you hit me."

"You hit me because of that idiot Emily. I'm your real daughter!"

Veda still looked defiant, tears streaming down her face like she was the one wronged.

Mason couldn't take it anymore. He stood up and snapped, "So what if you're the real daughter? Being a Smith means you can't act like a brat. It's disgraceful!" He added, "Veda, your mom's right. If you pull this again, I'll cut off your credit card myself!"

Scarlett had just wanted to put on a show for Mason, but she didn't expect him to take it so seriously!

Michael was already thinking about stripping her of her shareholder status.

If Veda lost the Smith family's support, they'd be broke!

Why were the men in the Smith family so stubborn?

Scarlett said to Veda, "Did you hear that? You're driving me nuts. Get out of here and stop bothering your grandpa!"

She added, "Dad, we're leaving now. As for Emily..."

Mason replied, "I'll have someone bring her here. Let's see who dares to oppose it in this house!"

At this point, Mason had unknowingly fallen into Scarlett's trap.

Back in the third-floor bedroom, Scarlett was feeling smug but didn't forget to explain things to the clueless Veda.

After listening, Veda asked, "Mom, is that really what you think?"

Scarlett, lounging with her legs crossed and munching on snacks, watched Veda cry.

She answered, "Is there any doubt? Do you think I like that shameless woman? You have no idea how much Michael argued with me today because of her!"

She continued, "I have to bring her into this house and teach her a lesson. I want her to know that being a daughter-in-law in our wealthy family isn't easy. I want her to willingly submit, leave Michael, and get out of the Smith family!" Hearing this, Veda instantly smiled. "That's more like it!"

She added, "Mom, I really hate Emily. It's not enough that she took Michael; she also wants to take Daniel from me. I wish I could kick her out of Emerald City!"

Scarlett said with determination, "What's so hard about that?"

Hearing this, Veda looked up to see Scarlett playing with her red nails, her fiery red lips curling up. "Emily turned out this way, so it's clear her mother wasn't any better."

"Otherwise, why would her husband's family despise her? Why would she mysteriously jump off a building and end up in a vegetative state? It's karma for all the evil she did!" As she spoke, her expression turned vicious. She added, "I'll start with her mother. I don't believe Emily would dare defy me!"

The next morning at the hospital.

Emily got the doctor's permission and was handling her discharge paperwork, planning to settle the remaining medical bills. But when she asked at the counter, she found out that all the expenses had been covered by the Smith Corporation. They were about to divorce and split assets, yet he still did this?

Was he trying to win her over?

Forget it. As Abigail once said, "Since you're not divorced yet, you might as well spend his money. Besides, who hates money?" But thinking about yesterday's events made Emily angry.

She snorted and was about to leave.

Michael suddenly appeared in front of her, looking all gloomy and resentful, like he was carrying a storm cloud with him.

Emily just wanted to get as far away from him as possible.

As she tried to step away, Michael grabbed her and pulled her close.

"What are you doing?" Emily demanded.

"I should be asking you that!" Michael shot back.

Their faces were so close their breaths mingled, lips almost touching, but they stared at each other like enemies, neither willing to back down. Andrew quickly stepped in. "Mr. Smith, there's a saying..."

But before he could finish, Michael shot him a warning look.

For the sake of his bonus, Andrew swallowed his words and simply reminded them, "We're in a hospital."

Sometimes the simplest approach worked best.

Emily and Michael both shut up for the moment, waiting until they were back in the hospital room to start round two of their argument.

"Who allowed you to discharge without my permission?" Michael asked.

"The doctor said I was fine. Why can't I be discharged?" Emily replied. "Michael, sometimes I really don't get you. Didn't you not want me to see Daniel? Now that I'm being discharged, haven't you achieved your goal? Why are you still making a fuss?"

He was genuinely worried about her health, her persistent stomach issues. But she thought he was just making a fuss? His sincere feelings were wasted on the wrong person!

He knew it. A woman like Emily would never be worth his genuine care!

"Andrew, take her back to Emerald Lake Manor and call another car to pick me up. I don't want to share a car with someone so ungrateful," Michael ordered.

Emily's good mood was ruined.

Did Michael even realize what he was saying?

"No need! I'll take a cab myself!" she snapped.

"And I'm not going back to Emerald Lake Manor. Stop trying to control me! Damn capitalist!"

With that, Emily started packing her things to leave first.

"Where are you going?" Michael asked. "Are you going to see that annoying Daniel again?"

Michael wouldn't let her go. He hadn't seen Daniel all morning, which had initially made him happy.

But hearing Emily say she wasn't going back to their home made Michael anxious.

Was she planning to meet Daniel now that she was feeling better?

"Who's annoying?" Emily asked.

"Someone who talks non-stop around you. Isn't that annoying?" Michael replied with a look of contempt.

Emily listened to his description.

It sounded like he was describing himself!

The annoying one who wouldn't stop talking was Michael right now.

"Daniel is not annoying," Emily said.

"And please stop suspecting me for no reason. Grandpa asked me to go back to the old mansion to rest for a few days to avoid getting upset." "Are you satisfied now?"

With that, Emily picked up her few belongings, bumped Michael with her shoulder, and walked out of the hospital room.

For a moment, Michael was so taken aback by her retort that he couldn't help but laugh in exasperation. "Did you hear what she just said?"

Seeing his bewildered expression, Andrew quickly replied, "I heard. Mrs. Smith said she's going back to the old mansion."

Michael, in a rush, said, "Then what are you waiting for? Go take her there!"

Michael hurriedly pushed Andrew out of the hospital room.
