Noelle widened her eyes as she watched Charles' actions. She had not expected him to actually drink it himself.

Before she could even feel happy about it, her eyes grew even rounder in disbelief as Charles tilted his head back and drank the tea. He then lifted her chin. The next second, his warm lips quickly pressed against hers. In that instant, Noelle's taste buds seemed to explode with the combination of warmth and the pungent taste of the herbs. She tried to push him away, but Charles held her tightly, giving her no chance to resist. Gradually, the warm tea was passed into Noelle's mouth. Her eyes were wide open, and she tried to keep her mouth shut, but Charles did not give her any opportunity.

By the time he finally released her, half the cup of tea had made its way into her stomach.

Charles let go of Noelle's hand and smirked, especially when he saw the furious expression on her face. He could not help but shake his head and use his fingers to wipe the liquid off the corner of her mouth. Noelle pulled away from his hand, clearly upset. She was pouting as she complained, "You're terrible! You're not allowed in the bedroom tonight!"

Charles shook his head helplessly. "Come on, you're an adult. If you're sick, you need to be sensible. You were even walking around barefoot just now. Don't you know how cold it is in winter?"

He sounded slightly stern. "Tell me, do you do this often when I'm not around?"

"I..." Noelle had not expected Charles to turn the tables on her, and she instantly lost her temper.

She walked over, grabbed his hand, and shook it back and forth, acting coy. "Alright, it's my fault. Please don't scold me anymore. I promise I won't do it again. I just woke up and wanted some fresh air!"

"Hmm?" Charles raised an eyebrow, amused by her playful attitude. He reached out and lightly pinched her nose. "Alright. You're probably hungry now. I've made dinner. Let's go eat."

...

The next day, they left separately for

work, this time at Charles'

suggestion. It did not take long for

Noelle to understand why. It was not just Winter who was being watched-she was under

over

surveillance too.

Janet could be obsessive at times, but she was not stupid. It seemed her irrationality only emerged when it came to matters concerning Charles.

Otherwise, Janet could behave like a relatively normal person when he was not around.

As soon as Noelle hit the highway and entered the route leading to Collosus Group, she felt a car following her. She did not even need to guess who it was. Charles was just a short distance away. That day, he drove a more inconspicuous car, so no one realized it was him.

However, he had clearly identified

the car trailing Noelle; it was someone sent by the Bakers. Charles narrowed his eyes, realizing that the Bakers were also aware of Noelle and had sent someone to foffow her.

He called Noelle. "Someone's tailing you."

"Yes, I noticed," she replied. "What about you?"

"No one's following me," Charles replied and paused for a moment. "I'm afraid you'll have to endure this for a while."

Noelle did not seem too bothered by

it. She simply said, "It's fine. If I have to bear it for a bit, I will. Once this matter is resolved, we can finally be at ease. It would be great if we could wrap this up before New Year's. Otherwise, the holiday might be ruined."

"Yes, I'll resolve it as soon as possible," Charles assured her, knowing that her concerns were precisely what he had in mind as well.
