Chapter 61
That girl asked excitedly. "Do you know what a one-of-a-kind dress means? There's only one in the whole world! Even with
money, it's nearly impossible to get. It's practically a collector's item.
Her friend, Simone Chastain, snorted as she sized up Mia's back. "Why would someone that rich work at our company? I bet she's wearing a knockoff. Her tone was tinged with jealousy.
As Simone observed Mia's nearly perfect figure, with her peach-shaped hips, sculpted back, and elegantly defined shoulders, she felt intense envy and muttered coldly. "I hate people like her the most!"
That was definitely not a pleasant comment. Even Eliot, who was known for his good temper, frowned upon hearing that. Just as he was about to say something, a sneer sounded beside him. She tilted her head slightly, narrowing her eyes. With the light shining down, her gaze was sharp as she retorted, "I also hate self-appointed international police who judge without proof. She was not someone to be pushed around easily.
Simone was surprised that Mia dared to talk back and was momentarily stunned. "You..." Simone began, but the girl who first praised Mia's dress quickly grabbed Simone's hand to stop her. "That's enough!"
Immediately after, the girl cast an envious glance at Mia and thought that such a beautiful dress paired with a perfect figure was truly a sight to behold. The girl then pressed her lips together before saying, "Um... Miss, I'm so sorry. Simone is just so blunt. Please don't mind her. Also, your dress is absolutely beautiful. It's truly a one-of-a-kind piece from Seraphina Couture."
This girl had great taste, knew how to speak well, and was very perceptive. What stood out the most was her genuine expression, utterly devoid of insincerity.
Mia found herself liking the girl a bit and smiled, saying, "Oh my. Thank you. You can just call me Mia."
"Mia, what a beautiful name. I'm Selene Levitt, but everyone just calls me Selene. Selene awkwardly scratched her head. Her name was indeed a bit of a mouthful, and people usually made a comment or two about it.
Mia wore a polite smile. Her short hair accentuated her long neck, giving her an elegant and aloof appearance. "Hello, Selene. I'm here for a meeting. I'm not very familiar with this place. So, could you help me find Mr. Lister?" Her voice was neither too loud nor too soft, as elegant and pleasing as a violin. Without needing to do anything else, she effortlessly overshadowed the other girls in the elevator simply by standing there.
The girl named Simone tugged on Selene and reminded her, "Mind your own business. We still have training to attend." As soon as Simone finished speaking, the elevator stopped at the 52nd floor.
Simone couldn't stand Mia. So, she grabbed Selene's arm and tried to pull her away. Selene, however, smiled gently and shook off Simone's hand. "Simone, you go ahead to practice. I'll show Mia the way"
Simone pulled a face in annoyance and warned, "If you're late for roll call and get in trouble, don't blame me!" With that, she strutted off in her high heels, swaying her hips. The other male and female artists also hurried away silence, not wanting to offend anyone.
Selene raised her hand and pressed the button for the 66th floor. She scratched her head and looked at Mia, reminding her, "Mia, you should bring your handsome friend here when you go see Mr. Lister."
This suggestive reminder made Mia smile and think, 'It seems like Shawn really isn't up to any good. She then nodded politely. "Alright. Thank you, Selene."
Soon after, the elevator stopped on the 66th floor. At that moment, the CEO's secretary had just gone for lunch. Selene led Mia and Eliot to the CEO's office with hardly any interruptions.
Just as Selene was about to knock, ambiguous moans came from inside. Mia saw Selene's face turn red with embarrassment and felt furious. Mia grumbled inwardly, "How dare they do this in broad daylight at the office? It seems like Shawn has done this before:

She grabbed Selene's hand and asked gently, "Selene, does he often do this in the office?"
Selene's eyes reddened, and she turned her face away, biting her lip as if bracing herself. "..."
Mia gently comforted her. Don't be afraid. I'm here with you."
A tear rolled down from the corner of Selene's eye as she replied, "Yes. Many people had been coerced by him. If I hadn't escaped quickly that time, I would've been...
"But many people couldn't leave the company because we couldn't afford the penalty fees. He didn't give any resources to those of us who didn't obey, using this method to force us into submission!" She had seen many people fall into the world of desire and money and wondered how much longer she could hold on
Mia's face darkened. She really hadn't expected Universe Entertainment, a subsidiary of the Eldoria Group, to be so
corrupt.
In the meantime, the office continued to echo with those suggestive sounds. Mia frowned, gently caressing her lower abdomen, and calmed herself, thinking she couldn't let it affect her baby. However, she couldn't stand it anymore and quickly shot Eliot a glance.
The next second, he lifted his foot and forcefully kicked open the door to the CEO's office of Universe Entertainment. SEND GIFT
