The Daemon’s Eyes
CHAPTER 17

Sabrina's P.O.V

We stared at each other for a while. Jasper said he was with the keys to his house so his father had no way of getting in!

He also had to pick him up from the airport.

"I have an idea!", I jumped out of bed before turning to face him with a smirk.

"Ohh?", he arched a brow. "Let's hear it then"

"I'll make a fuss up here in my room so my father would come to check on me, then you'll jump out the window". I bent over to peck his lips. "Break a leg, Jas" "Please don't say that..."

I giggled.

In about five minutes, we put our plan to work.

Logan's P.O.V

"Logan!", I heard her voice pierce through my skin as the ground shook a bit.

Pride was about to scold me like a little kid.

"I sent you to do something and you're half way across the world??", she frowned at me and all I could do was stare back into those cold eyes.

"See... it's not my fault, she said I should leave her alone", I rolled my eyes in somewhat annoyance. "I'm tired of going to the same place for hundreds of years! Why don't you give the job to someone else?!"

Her eyes narrowed then a wicked smile formed at her lips as she walked up to me. Pride was the most powerful Daemon alive at the moment.

She wrapped an arm behind my head and lowered my face to hers, pausing just a little distance away. "I didn't want to say it in front of everyone, but this is your last try". She joined our foreheads. "If you fail once again, I'll demote you to an average Daemon and get a replacement"

My eyes widened as I pulled back. "You can't do that, it's not possible"

"I actually can, sweetie". She cupped her chin without dropping the smirk or attitude. "Daemon law includes the possibility of one of the upper rank Daemons being demoted if majority of the other six daemons vote in favour".

I lay speechless for a while. I wanted to strangle her now.... But I knew I couldn't beat her with my current skill level.

"I want you to watch her... day and night... follow her if you can.. I'll come for her myself with time"

"I know..but"

"But nothing, you owe me one you know..."

"I know... but I just wanted to ask....how did you find me?!"

She smiled, "let's just say...I have my ways..", she nodded towards Winry who had been eavesdropping on the whole conversation beside the door.

She was trembling a bit. "I'm sorry, Logan", I watched some tear drops roll down her cheeks.

Asif something came over me, I gripped Pride by her neck. "Don't you dare threaten Winry!", I felt the hairs on my skull stand a bit as my body turned powder white.

Her eyes turned red and she looked into my eyes before turning to face Winry, "Get over here, insect". She commanded and I watched Winry unwillingly walk towards us. There was fear in her eyes and her body seemed to be moving on its own. It was the power of the Daemon's lips....

Step by step, Winry was getting even closer...

"If she reaches me before you let me go, I'll kill her"

"That's prohibited"

"I make the rules around here, Logan dear", she chuckled wickedly and I just had to let her go.

"Pfff!". I pounded my fist against the wall. "Just leave..."

"One decade".

"Huh?"

"That's how long you have to get me the eyes", she gestured towards Winry. "Stop". Then disappeared immediately. Innocent Winry fell to her knees and I ran up to meet her. "Are you alright?", I knelt beside her.

She nodded lightly but was still trembling. She was a beautiful lady who'd died at the young age of twenty-three.

Infact! The Daemons in the underworld were once humans who bared one of the three parts while they were alive. And instead of aging, you remain the age which you died...

For Envy who was born of two Daemons, no one was sure what would happen but she seems to be aging in centuries.

I wrapped my arms around Winry in comfort. I loved her so much and didn't wish to hurt her.... But my curse of Lust was stronger than any other desire I had!

She gripped the fabric above my chest. "Please take care of Sabrina".

"I will". I kissed her forehead.

After I left her to rest on her bed, I paid Wrath a visit in Durindo. Managing to narrate the whole story to him while he nodded, I asked for his advice.

As expected, he was deadly straightforward.

"I think you should just fulfill your duty before personal feelings get involved".

I slapped my forehead wondering why I even talk to this guy!

"Okay, imagine if you were in my shoes?"

He grimaced, "I can't see myself sleeping with a mother and daughter"

I sighed deeply. "Just give me an advice I can work with! If I take the eyes, Sabrina will die!". I gulped. "And if I don't, Winry and me will face grave consequences!"

There was silence for a bit as thought about it. "You shouldn't have gone to the same house"

"I literally screamed that the first time!"

"Yeah.... I didn't know it'll end up this bad". He looked towards the wielder of the Daemon's touch who was sleeping below him. "I don't think I'll be able to take hold of his heart anytime soon. He's quite the difficult person" "Like you're someone to talk", I mumbled.

"Huh?"

I folded my arms in thought. "I literally came half way across the country to speak with you! Give me an atom of knowledge!"

"Well, you could run away. The girl would be safe but I don't think the 'Winry' would be safe unless you take her with you"

I snapped my fingers. "Yes!!!", Could feel my heart racing at those words. "That's actually not a bad idea!"

"Don't tell me you're serious? I was just pulling your leg"

After turning I replied, "Not today though, and I'll surely return"

"Be careful, you'll be sent to be abyss if you neglect your duties"

"That's if they catch me", I turned to him with a grin.
