The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric) -
Chapter 1961 He's Not at a Loss
Would people like that really keep their promise?
Was there any morality to speak of in this line of business?
Nicole walked over and sat in an uncomfortable chair.
"Something suddenly went wrong after so many years of cooperation. Although I don't know what happened, perhaps this might be someone deliberately sowing discord."
Falcon was stunned. He smiled.
"Who says it isn't? But those who came into contact with the goods are Clayton's people and my own people. Who would be the one messing things up?"
"Then why are you so certain that Clayton did it?"
Nicole asked back.
Falcon narrowed his eyes, took a puff of his cigarette, and spit it out.
He stared at Nicole.
"Mediania wants to use Clayton's test base, so they're bound to clean up his business completely. Clayton has found a more reliable backer and wants to leave his old friends behind, so he has no choice but to create an opportunity for us to turn against each other, right? Otherwise, would he pay for the damages? Ms. Stanton, you need to know that in our line of business, we don't rely on contracts. If there's a breach of contract, the penalty isn't money but someone's life."
His voice was cold and sharp, but he answered Nicole's questions patiently.
"Don't worry. This matter will be over once Clayton comes and compensates my two brothers' lives."
Nicole gasped.
"Compensate with his life?!"
Falcon glanced at her with a bit of indifference.
"Two of my brothers lost their lives. He's not at a loss if I only take his life, right?"
Nicole fell silent.
She looked away.
Clayton might as well not come.
Suddenly, Nicole thought of Ingrid.
"Why is Ms. Ferguson here?"
Falcon sneered.
"She's Tyler's woman. I've reached an agreement with Tyler, so to show his sincerity, he left his woman with me as a hostage. But it seems that Tyler doesn't like this woman very much. Why do I feel like I'm at a disadvantage in this situation?'
Nicole paused.
She heard of Tyler's name before.
It was related to Eric.
Was that man back in Mediania Tyler?
Nicole said, "You're working with Tyler? Aren't you afraid that Tyler will betray you?"
Falcon raised his eyebrows.
"Mrs. Sloan, you know quite a lot, huh? I thought Mr. Sloan would be reluctant to let you know all these."
The corners of Nicole's mouth twitched, but she could not bring herself to smile.
"If I knew everything, why would I come here alone?"
Falcon pondered for a while, then nodded
That made sense.
Later, Falcon smiled again.
"Tyler wanted to swallow Mr. Sloan's business, but he's not so capable to manage it. If Tyler takes over that piece of pie in Southeast Asia, he'll die. Tyler diverting his attention to South Africa is nothing more than jealousy. Besides..."
Falcon hesitated to speak
Nicole looked at Falcon's eyes with doubt.
Falcon did not keep her in suspense.
"Tyler worked with Eric Ferguson. The woman just now is Eric's sister, and Eric promised to help Tyler expand his territory. That's why I agreed to cooperate with Tyler. Regardless of whether Clayton or Tyler wins in the future, it won't affect my business!"
Nicole silently cursed that old fox.
However, her heart was heavy.
Eric cooperated with Tyler.
Was it real?
Nicole intuitively told herself that Eric was not someone who would compromise with despicable people.
However, could Eric just watch Ingrid and Quinn die?
So, everything was still unknown.
Falcon sighed. "I didn't expect that Tyler would find such a strong backer. If Tyler fought alone, he might not be able to beat Clayton. But with Eric involved, Clayton might not be able to win." Nicole pursed her lips. She looked calm and remained silent.
Her eyes flickered.
"So, you don't really care who killed your two brothers. What you truly care about is who among them will win?"
Falcon narrowed his eyes and glanced at her for a moment.
Nicole met his gaze.
Falcon was silent for a few seconds, then he suddenly laughed.
"No wonder everyone said that Mrs. Sloan is a smart person. Mr. Sloan gave up his
business empire so easily just to be with you. Now it seems that it's true?"
He smiled and stood up.
"You should take a rest. Everything will come to an end once Mr. Sloan arrives."
Falcon might have noticed that he spoke too much earlier, so he was no longer in a good mood.
He took Nicole's phone and left.
Before leaving, he turned the phone off.
Nicole's heart sank, but she did not show it on the surface.
She sat there staring blankly at the door.
Countless thoughts were cluttered in her mind.
The moment Nicole arrived in Liberty, all these hidden crises were instantly
revealed.
If Nicole had not taken the initiative to come forward, then what other way would they be able to threaten Clayton?
A thought flashed in Nicole's mind.' Michael!'
Chatty was under the protection of the Stanton family, so she would not be in any danger.
However, Michael had been studying abroad, so he could easily become a target for outsiders to threaten Clayton.
Nicole gritted her teeth.
Her heart suddenly felt cold.
Suddenly, she felt glad to be here.
Nicole was glad that the person facing these dangers was not a child.
She silently clenched her fists and trembled slightly.
Her head was still groggy, so she leaned gently on the sofa and closed her eyes for a while.
After some time, Nicole heard rapid footsteps coming from the door.
Someone pushed the door open.
She saw Quinn as well as Ingrid's angry face.
Quinn pulled Ingrid over. Her tone was helpless as she said, "Don't you know where we are? Don't go overboard! She's with Clayton now and has nothing to do with your brother, so what are you trying to do?" Ingrid gritted her teeth. Her eyes were filled with anger.
"That's because she played with my brother's feelings and ended up with another man. I was just mad at her for my brother's sake! Mom, if it wasn't for her, would we even end up here? She's the one who bewitched Eric, and in the end, all she does is sit here innocently!"
"Don't trouble your brother!"
Quinn lowered her voice.
Ingrid looked at Nicole coldly and shook her head.
"No way! I'm seeking justice for my brother!"
Nicole snorted lightly and smiled mockingly.
"Is this how you comfort yourself by talking about revenge in such a righteous way? Eric and I don't owe each other anything, so who are you to be seeking justice for him?"
Nicole's calmness angered Ingrid even more.
"Who am I? Nicole, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been ridiculed by the people in the circle so much that I couldn't go home! If it weren't for you, why would my brother treat me like that? I know. You must be scared now, huh? You're just unlucky to land in my hands."
Nicole chuckled. "Ms. Ferguson, I've never targeted you for no reason. You were the one who provoked me repeatedly, and your brother taught you a lesson. Besides, I didn't fall into your hands."
Ingrid narrowed her eyes and pretended not to hear Nicole's excuse.
She put all the blame on Nicole.
If it was not for Nicole, would Ingrid need to leave her hometown and become the laughing stock among her friends in the elite circle?
Now, Ingrid could finally hold her head up high.
