The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric) -
Chapter 1972 Still Alive?
When Grant heard this, he was stunned for a moment. He almost forgot that Yvette was now Lance's wife.
Grant nodded and had already picked up his coat.
"Okay, it's settled then. I'll go by myself."
The assistant nodded.
"By the way, if Eric sends a contract over, send it to me as soon as possible."
"Yes, sir."
The assistant paused and thought to himself, 'Is Mr. Stanton planning to cooperate with Mr. Ferguson?' When Grant arrived at Nicole's house, he could already smell the aroma of barbecue before he went inside.
As soon as he entered the door, he heard children's laughter inside.
Chatty was laughing loudly. A simple little toy was enough to make her laugh like she was getting paid for it.
She was unlike Levi, who was not interested in any of those toys. Levi was just stacking Lego seriously.
When Levi heard Grant's voice, he was a little excited. He put down the things in his hand, ran over with his short legs, stretched out his hands, and begged for a hug. "Daddy..."
Grant did not want to spoil his son, but Aida was standing not far away watching them, so Grant had no choice but to bend down and carry his son. He smiled and kissed Levi on the face. "Leaf, did you have a good time today?"
Little Levi did not like his nickname, but because Grant said it, Levi reluctantly accepted it.
Levi nodded with a smile and pointed at Chatty, who was currently crawling while baring her teeth. "Sister... Take her home."
Levi liked his little cousin so much that he wanted to take her home.
Grant chuckled lightly. "I'm afraid that's not possible. Your aunt will be reluctant."
Aida walked over immediately with a smile and glanced at Grant with satisfaction.
"That's the way you should be! You should always smile when you look at your son. Otherwise, he won't dare to look at you next time."
Grant was speechless.
Right. Grant's face was glum once because of Levi's homework. After he punished Levi, Aida warned Grant sternly. Lance rolled up his sleeves and came out of the kitchen. When he saw Grant, he nodded ?h&:VLV> walked over.
"Mr. Stanton..."
Grant nodded, put Levi down, and looked at Lance.
"Shall we talk in the study?"
Lance nodded.
Knowing that the two men had something to discuss, Aida did not linger around them.
She went over to pick up Little Chatty and held her hand with a smile.
"Lil Chatty, we'll have dinner in a while. What do you like to eat?"
"Din-din!"
in the study.
Lance said frankly, "Samuel Lindstrom from Baltic City has been looking for funding everywhere. It seems like his family has encountered a lot of trouble in South Africa's oil infrastructure, which shows that the other party is well-prepared. The Lindstrom family didn't want to sell this money maker and wanted to get financial support domestically. But they're also unwilling to give up too many shares and got into a half- month stalemate. Samuel has been in South Africa for a long time now."
Grant narrowed his eyes lightly.
This study was exclusively for Nicole and was separate from the study that Clayton used. Since they had a lot of documents and materials that needed to be kept properly, having separate studies ensured that their things would not get mixed up.
Grant's eyes flickered, and his tone was cold.
"Is a terrorist causing trouble for the Lindstroms? Or is it someone else?"
Lance paused and looked at him.
"It's Tyler, just as you guessed."
Grant's eyes narrowed slightly without any expression. His eyes suddenly turned dark and deep.
"Tyler wanted to swallow the Lindstroms' oil business and even wanted to take over Clayton's military base. But the Lindstrom family was easy to deal with, and he couldn't touch Clayton, so he could only take it slow."
Lance nodded. "That's right. But at the moment, we still don't know Eric's stance. I heard that Eric had a role in the Lindstroms' incident in South Africa. But no matter how stupid Eric is, he wouldn't work with someone like Tyler just to go against Clayton, right?"
Grant's breathing was heavy. Eric did seem different from the last two times Grant saw him.
However, Grant could not pinpoint what exactly was different about Eric.
Someone knocked on the door outside.
Nicole poked her head in and looked at the two men with a smile.
Big Brother, come out and help us!" Grant regained his expression. The coldness on his face faded as he smiled and nodded.
"Come on, let's eat first."
The two men went out, and Nicole put her phone in Grant's hand.
"I ordered charcoal for the barbecue, but the delivery guy can't enter the neighborhood. Big Brother, will you please go and take it in for me?"
Grant looked at the phone, took a deep breath, and rubbed his temples.
"Why don't you let Clayton do this kind of thing?"
He knew that Clayton would not refuse.
Nicole blinked and thought, 'How could I let Clayton do such a thing?'
However, she did not say a word. She smiled and pushed Grant out the door.
"Clayton rarely has time to rest. He's been busy for so long, so leave him alone!" Grant looked at her and sneered as he thought, What a good sister!'
Nicole did not want Clayton to do this kind of manual labor.
What a heartless sister.
However, Grant did not dally in the house and went downstairs with the phone.
As soon as he arrived downstairs, the phone rang.
"Excuse me, is this the courier ordered by
Ms. Stanton?"
"Yes."
Grant stood at the intersection and waited,
feeling bored.
Soon, the designated car from the private restaurant arrived. The logo on the car was very familiar. It was Nicole's favorite barbecue restaurant.
The person dressed in black clothes and a cap got out of the car, lowered his head, and took out a box from the car.
"The charcoal ordered by Ms. Stanton..."
The man hesitated.
Grant stretched out his hand. "Give it to me."
The man paused. "Okay."
Without raising his head, the delivery guy handed the box to Grant, got in the car, and left.
Grant weighed the box in his hand. The charcoal was not light and had some weight to it, but it was not heavy either.
He turned around to leave.
Suddenly, he realized that something was wrong.
His eyes sank. Grant remembered something and suddenly put the box on the ground.
He opened the box right away.
The box had a bloodied, severed hand inside that had an "O" tattooed on the inside of the pinky. Next to the hand was a sharp dagger.
This was a warning.
Grant's face turned cold and serious. His eyes narrowed, and he was shrouded in gloom.
In an instant, Grant recognized the man's hand.
It was the bodyguard he sent to monitor Tyler.
The "O" was a personal identifier given to that bodyguard.
When Nicole returned to Mediania, Grant did not let his guard down. He had been secretly monitoring the most dangerous people, including Tyler.
In other words, Tyler had already noticed that someone was watching him and knew that the bodyguard was sent by Grant.
Tyler cut off the bodyguard's hand and sent it over to Grant, which meant that he already knew everything.
Grant's heart turned cold. He closed his eyes, put down the box slowly, and closed the lid.
He dialed a number with his own phone.
"Go and check if O is still alive. If he's still alive, get him to retreat immediately."
Now that they were discovered, there was no need to continue tracking Tyler.
Also...
Grant paused and called his assistant.
"Contact Eric and tell him that Stanton Corporation will take on the AG project."
