The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric) -
Chapter 2011 Another Meaning
The doctors came by three times a day. Clayton's face also looked better by the day, so Nicole felt that she was going to recover soon. A week passed.
The slight tingling in her rib had disappeared.
Her intermittent coughing also stopped.
Clayton could carry Nicole to the wheelchair and push her around the hospital.
The two of them were glued together almost all day. They were inseparable.
When Nicole could finally push the wheelchair by herself, she occasionally heard loud screams in the hospital.
They were somewhat hysterical, especially at night.
However, it seemed like it was just her hallucination because the scream would disappear quickly.
When she listened for it again, she could not hear it, as if it was just an illusion.
Nicole was sitting on the balcony of the ward, admiring the moon, while Clayton was doing some work on his computer in the room. He looked flawless when he was serious. He looked unkempt with his collar opened slightly.
While she admired the moon, she was also admiring Clayton.
Clayton seemed to be able to sense her gaze. He chuckled lightly without raising his eyes.
"Have you seen enough?"
Nicole blushed and immediately retracted her gaze in avoidance.
However, after some thought, she was entitled to look at him however she liked since they were married.
Nicole looked back at him with a smile.
"Mr. Sloan, you're more beautiful than the moon."
Clayton was already accustomed to her occasional flattery.
He smiled lightly, rubbed his temple helplessly, and looked up at her.
"Do you wanna go to bed?"
Nicole was still feeling shy from just now. When she heard this, her thoughts instantly wandered elsewhere. "Ugh, I'm still sick!"
Clayton paused.
He frowned and laughed.
"It's already 10:00 pm. I was just asking if you want your beauty sleep. What were you thinking?"
Nicole took a deep breath and turned her head away.
Well, that was embarrassing.
Clayton did not feel embarrassed. The only one who was embarrassed was Nicole.
Nicole really wanted to continue admiring the moon as if nothing had happened, but Clayton did not want to let go of this opportunity. He walked over, stood behind her, pushed the wheelchair inside, ;h% "Why don't we give it a go tonight?"
Nicole felt that her face was as red as a cooked crab.
She took a deep breath. To prove that her mind was not in the gutter earlier, she firmly rejected him.
"No, I purely meant sleeping and nothing else."
Clayton raised his eyebrows and did not say a word.
Nicole felt like she was at a disadvantage and glanced at him unwillingly.
"I absolutely had no other thoughts!"
Clayton raised his eyebrows but did not expose her thoughts.
"Oh? Even if you don't, I do..."
Clayton rubbed his cheek against hers. His rich and refreshing scent enveloped her, pulling her into a beautiful dream.
His eyes lingered on her body, and his kisses were overwhelming. He supported his arms on both sides of her wheelchair as he bent over. The collar of his shirt was slightly open, and his eyes were so dark as if he could swallow her whole.
Nicole gently leaned on his shoulders. Just as he wanted to take it further and pick her up, they suddenly heard a commotion downstairs.
The hysterical female voice shouted again, sounding hoarse and desperate.
At night, it was quite terrifying.
This completely quelled their desire.
Nicole pushed Clayton away abruptly, frowned, and muttered in displeasure.
"Is this a hospital or a psychiatric ward?"
Clayton did not answer, but his eyes dimmed. His thumb brushed against his lips as he smiled coldly and wickedly.
"It's fine. I'll go take a look?"
Nicole frowned, took his hand, and hesitated.
She suddenly had a bad premonition.
Nicole did not want him to leave.
Clayton paused and touched her head.
"Okay. Let's go down together then?"
He seemed to know what was going on with the people shouting downstairs.
If it was an ordinary patient, Clayton would not waste his time taking her downstairs to check out the situation in person.
Nicole nodded with some doubts in her heart.
Clayton picked up the blanket on the side and put it on her gently. He was afraid that she would catch a cold.
She felt much warmer wrapped in a blanket.
Clayton gently pushed her wheelchair forward and turned in a different direction when they were outside.
When Shane saw them coming out, he quickly bowed his head. "Mr. Sloan, Madam."
Clayton nodded and introduced him to Nicole.
"This is the guy who jumped into the sea to save you. His name is Shane Libb."
Nicole raised her eyebrows, and her eyes lit up.
"Shane Libb? Thank you for saving me."
Shane nodded. "It's Mr. Sloan's orders. Our duty is to protect you and Mr. Sloan. We're glad that you're fine, Madam."
He was in his early twenties, but he looked cold and resilient, as if life had toughened him up.
Shane was different from Luca. Luca was a professional martial arts champion who later worked for Floyd and Nicole, completely devoting himself to ensuring their safety. Luca would give Nicole ideas and would express his own opinion.
However, Shane, who was standing in front of her, gave her the impression that he was a loyal subordinate that would do anything for his boss, regardless of right or wrong.
It was good for such a person to be on their side.
If he was their enemy, they would be in big trouble.
In just a few seconds, Nicole had countless thoughts running through her mind.
She smiled and looked at Shane.
"No matter what, I still have to thank you. Don't you think so, Clayton?"
She looked up at Clayton.
Clayton raised his eyebrows and nodded.
"Yes, giving you a promotion and salary increment won't be enough. You should come with us to Mediania and bring your family with you."
Shane's eyes lit up. His face finally showed some emotions.
It was clear that Clayton's conditions were what Shane dreamed of.
"Thank you, Mr. Sloan. Thank you, Madam."
Clayton smiled and pushed Nicole into the elevator.
This reward that could have been granted a long time ago was only given when Nicole spoke up. This meant that Clayton wanted Shane to thank Nicole for it.
Nicole naturally knew what Clayton was thinking. She smiled and watched as he pressed the "Level B2" button on the elevator to the basement.
The lights in the basement were very dim, and it felt eerie.
They passed through a long corridor to the open space. There were dozens of tall and burly foreigners on that floor.
When they saw Clayton, they immediately stood up and stood there respectfully.
Nicole was so shocked by this scene that her body was tense.
Clayton noticed it, so he patted her lightly on the shoulder and explained in a low voice, "These are the bodyguards I hired temporarily to protect us. I think that we should learn from Third Brother. This way, we won't be afraid of danger, and this is a form of self-defense."
Originally, Nicole was still very nervous, but after he explained it like this, she was relieved when she recalled how Kai made a huge scene.
The corners of her lips twitched. She glanced at the group of people in black clothes in front of her who all had intimidating looks.
It was well worth it.
Nicole nodded. "Right. We should practice this in the future!"
She was really scared.
Clayton was speechless.
Everyone made way for them.
The innermost door was closed, and someone was screaming inside.
A familiar man came out of that room.
When they got closer, Nicole recognized that it was the captain.
The captain walked over quickly, looked at Nicole and nodded, then looked at Clayton again.
"She almost escaped just now, but we caught her and locked her up."
