The Devil’s Reward: Chapter 36

Dmitri is pissed, and I might just be on the receiving end of a bullet soon if I don’t get this under control.

I walk back into the hospital, and head up the elevator to the waiting room. The entire floor is full of our guys and those fucking Lincolns.

The tension in the room is tight, but not as panicked as before. Apparently they all pulled through, including fucking Bullet. I wish I had hit him harder, because now I have to figure a way to get to Izzy, do the deed, and then get Sage out of here. Hard to do when they have damn bodyguards at their door.

I need to make myself Izzy’s bodyguard, but that won’t be easy. Still, seeing Bullet lying in the bed, broken, it’s almost enough to make me happy. The only way I’ll be truly happy, though, is to see his heart monitor flatline.

I step into the waiting room, nodding solemnly at Stone, who glances at me before I take my place against the wall in the corner. I need to make a plan and fast, before Dmitri tries to take me out of it permanently.
