Chapter 55 - I’ll Fight With You

* The Castle at Drakor; The Capital of the Chromos * Elena POV

The women are all having our breakfast on a terrace overlooking one of the gardens. Quentin told me last night that I was going to meet with the men today about joining the battle tomorrow and I needed to ask if any of the women wanted to fight too. I was just looking for an opportunity to make my speech.

I cleared my throat for attention. "So, I was talking with Quentin last night about being a fire plus earth elemental and having telekinesis not to mention knowing a few spells and having some training with swords and he suggested that I talk with the men today about joining the battle tomorrow." Silence nobody is saying anything. "Anyway, he suggested that I should ask the rest of the ladies if you wanted to fight too. Maybe we could make our own company." I'm waiting for someone to say something, anything, just something.

"I'll fight with you." Gracia the Queen of the Werewolfs says as she stands up.

"I'll fight with you." Cecily the Queen of the Vampires says as she stands up.

"I'll fight with you." Grace the Queen of the Bear Shifters says as she stands up. I'll fight with you." Aerin the Queen of the Elves says as she stands up. "I'll fight with you." Ella Queen of the Fairies says as she stands up. "I'll fight with you." Dalinda Queen of the Dragons says as she stands up. "I'll fight with you." Merket Queen of the Gnomes says as she stands up. "I'll fight with you." Endies Queen of the Centaurs says as she stands up. "I'll fight with you." Jewel Queen of the Unicorns says as she stands up.

"Molle, will you join the fight?" I don't mean to put her on the spot but I need to know who is all going to follow me over to meet with the men.

"Yes, I'll join the fight." She says in a shaky voice.

Molle POV

All the women are talking animatedly about the upcoming fight, their skills in battle, their battle scars, and their previous battles Cyprian. I know that he said last night turned him on but that was in private this will be in public and he's already made it clear that I am not to join the battle. Last night was about his attitude towards women. Elena just opens the door to the meeting room and we all file in at the front of the room. I scan the room for Cyprian and as soon as our eyes meet I want a huge hole in the floor to swallow me up. He doesn't look happy at all. Each woman is stepping forward and saying her expertise in battle. Sometimes the men will ask questions and then she'll step back so the next one can step forward. Now it's my turn.

"I'm Molle and my expertise is archery." I take a deep breath because I'm shaking so much. I look at Cyprian and he is beyond furious.

Cyprian cuts me off before I say anymore. "What experience do you have at shooting moving targets?" He's gritting his teeth while he talks.

"Some but not much." I feel like I'm about to have a panic attack.

"What kind of battle experience do you have?" Cyprian asks through his gritted teeth and locked jaw.

"One of my previous masters would have me run out to the field and drag back injured to safety. It was then that I learned how to be an archer and how to wield a sword." Ah! Cyprian didn't know that about me "How many years ago was that?" Cyprian asks, leaning forward on the wooden table.

"About five." I blush and look down at my feet.

"That's a long time to go without training Molle." Cyprian says gently all anger is gone from his voice. He motions for me to come to him.

My eyes are brimming with tears so he takes my hand and leaves the meeting room. Once we're outside I succumb to my tears and I fall into his chest and start sobbing. He pulls me close and wraps his arms around me kissing me on top of my head.

Once I'm no longer crying and just hiccuping Cyprian lifts my chin up so I have to look him in the eyes. "Why don't you go up to our room and I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Are you going to punish me?" I ask as I can feel my whole body shaking.

"No kitten, now go on up to our room and I'll be there as soon as I can." He kisses me again on top of my head and then walks back into the meeting room.

I don't go straight to our room, instead I walk a bit and then I head back to the meeting room and slightly open the door to hear what's being said. I hear Cyprian exclaiming about how small I am and that I couldn't pick up a grown man with armour on and drag him to safety.

Cyprian POV

I can tell Molle is really upset with herself. She's a bit embarrassed, upset that she can't be with the other girls, thinks she's not good enough, and worried that I'm angry and will punish her. I was pretty pissed when I first saw her walk in and even when she first started talking but then her sweet little voice got to me and all my anger went away.

I walk back into the meeting room and they're still talking about Molle.

"True but maybe she can be of help as a medevac." Lucian speaks up.

"Wait! What? Have you seen how small she is? There is no way she can pick up a grown man with armour on and drag him to safety." I interject as I take my seat. Did everyone go crazy while I walked out of the room?

"I realize that, Cyprian. But she could help the Unicorns gather the wounded or the fairies heal the wounded. All I'm saying is we could find something useful for her to do. We're low on manpower as it is. We have to defeat an army of trolls, demons, goblins, and who knows what else. Not to mention Queen Maeve herself." Lucian said.

"Look Molle is my weakness. We all know that and I'm sure that Maeve knows that too. If she gets her hands on Molle I don't know what I would do and isn't that what this is all about. Isn't she trying to take down the dragon brothers and most importantly me? Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Isn't that why she took Emily? She'll take each and every one of our women if she can because she knows they're our weaknesses. So no, I refuse to put Molle on the front lines where she can get picked off by my crazy ex." Before I can finish the sentence Molle barges back into the room and interrupts me.

"So, you used to have relations with this woman and that's what this woman's problem is? You did a slam, bam, thank ya ma'am and that's why you don't want me out there. Am I understanding the story right?" She's looking at me with total disgust.

"Molle, it was a long time ago, I was very young, and there's a lot more to the story than I'm willing not to divulge right now." I jump up from where I'm sitting and walk over to Molle and firmly grip her arm. "You need to go to our room. I'll walk you there this time." I give her my I'm not fucking around look and march up to our room.

* Somewhere in the Chromos Empire *

Emily POV

Sometime around midnight we are awakened to hear the sound of goblins searching the adjoining cave. We hear them digging at the entrance to the cavern where we are. Gabe pulls me to his chest protectively. I close my eyes. Gabe pulls me as tight as he can against his chest and then wraps his wings around us both. The wings start to look iridescent and shimmer slightly.

"My wings will cloak us and make us invisible but we must remain quiet." Gabe whispers in my ear.

Lord Garbg POV

The goblins are frantically digging at a hole inside of a cave that looks like it leads to a larger cavern. The hole is about the size for a child to walk through an adult could make it but would have to crawl through to do so. "Is this where they are boys?" I ask the goblins. They snort back at me and frantically dig at the entrance to the cavern. I push the goblins aside and crawl through the hole to get the large cavern. Once I'm there I look around and I don't see anything. I walk all around to the furthest end of the cavern and there isn't anyone here. Maybe they left before we got here. I need to get them back. Queen Maeve is so angry that they escaped. She said to get back in her good graces she wants me to kidnap some girl named Molle who's supposed to be Prince Cyprian's Fiance. She's probably at the castle at Drakor. If I let Emily go and focus on this Molle I can make Queen Maeve happy again after all I've used Emily for all intended purposes. I've ruined and branded her so there's no way Prince Wolf is going to want her back now. I hate all of these princes. Ruining another one's woman will be just as much fun.
