“Leon, now you know why we have agreed to this,” Cynthia said and tears scrolled down her cheeks.

“So they are forcing you into it!” Leon’s expression darkened.

It was strange from the very beginning for the Shears to marry Cynthia to a descendent of their enemy and Leon finally came to realize that the Fields forced the Shears to comply with the Lapwoods‘ support.

“Leon, it’s the jungle’s law and the Lapwoods are simply too powerful for us to fight back. Just leave,” Cynthia muttered sorrowfully.

“Leaving so soon? No way!” Sean sneered and waved his hand. Instantly, two of the Lapwoods guards in the Advanced Overlord State darted forward and stood in Leon’s way.

Sean risked provoking the Dragon Corps to back the Fields up mainly to rob Leon of the Power Method he owned and since Leon was right before his eyes, Sean was not about to let him go.

“Mister Lapwood, what is the meaning of this? Theodore has agreed that you won’t hurt Leon if I marry him! Are you going to go back on your words?” Cynthia’s expression darkened and opened her arms to stand before Leon.

“Cynthia, so you agreed to marry him for my sake as well,” Leon realized that Cynthia was merely keeping the wedding a secret from him to protect him from harm. Instantly, he was overwhelmed by emotions as he wondered how he could ever repay Cynthia’s love.

“So what if we’re breaking the deal? Cynthia, I only agreed to your condition yesterday to stall! Leon is the enemy of the Fields and he destroyed my legs. I only hope to tear him into shreds and letting him go has never been an option at all!” Theodore spat viciously.

“What?! You shameless bast*rd!” Cynthia was enraged that Theodore lied to her. She tore the veil off her head and threw it onto the ground. “Theodore Fields, I’m not marrying you!”

“That’s not up to you! If you dare to run away from the wedding, Leon won’t be the only one who dies. Even the Shears will suffer! Think twice before you act!” Theodore sneered.

With Sean backing him, he was never going to let Cynthia escape no matter what.
