“Very well. You’re quite daring, kid! Since you have a death wish, I’ll help you out with that! Someone come and break his legs, then feed him to the hounds!” Felton laughed angrily and barked a command at two of his bodyguards.

“Yes!” The two guards responded and charged at Leon.

“Know your places!” Leon scoffed and was about to counter their attack when Renee beat him to it.

“Don’t you dare!” Renee’s expression darkened and she stepped forward to stand before Leon without hesitation, opening her arms to shield him.

The bodyguards were startled.

They both knew that they could not afford to offend Renee and had to give up on attacking Leon. The two instantly halted their movements and avoided harming Renee by accident.

“Renne, are you sure you want to oppose me for this guy’s sake?” Felton’s expression darkened and his sharp gaze fell on her.

“So what if I do? Hugh is the Morrisons’ guest, Felton! If you want to bully him, you must get through me!” Renee said coldly with determination.

Leon was invited to the western region by Hugo to discuss a potential partnership between the Cynthion Group and the

Morrisons.

Regardless of whether the deal could be sealed, Leon was still their guest and she could not possibly watch as someone else hurt him.

“Guest my ass! He’s just your boyfriend. Renee, a puny man like him doesn’t deserve you! How could you date someone like that? Your standards are getting lower by the day,” Felton said enviously.

Renee was the most beautiful woman in the western region and countless young bachelors dreamed of dating her.

Felton was no exception.

He had his eyes on Renee long ago and pursued her multiple times, however, Renee ignored him everytime.

Yet she ended up dating someone who looked ordinary with low status.

Felton could not bring himself to accept this.

Hence, he was determined to pick on Leon and wanted to chase him out of the region, or his rage could not be appeased.

“Who I date is none of your business?! You’re in no place to give orders to me!” Renee shouted angrily.

Though she clarified to others that Leon was not her boyfriend, no one believed her. She felt defeated and could not be bothered to explain herself again.

Moreover, light could never merge with darkness.

The Morrisons were the most powerful family in the Western region and were known for keeping a righteous and just reputation.

The Western Boss, on the other hand, ruled over the underground society and was always at odds with the Morrisons.

Felton was young and brilliant in every aspect, so she respected him for it. However, the fact that he was the Western Boss’s son and his arrogant character appalled her.

Hence, it never crossed her mind to accept him.
