The Fall Ball
Chapter 21

(Rose)

I open my eyes to see the palace in front of the car. Alpha Jake and Luna Liz are getting out of the car. Craig is looking over at me.

“You were sleeping very well. Have a pleasant dream?” He asks me, while opening the door for me.

“Uhm… Yeah I did,” I say while getting out of the car. We walk up to the Alpha and Luna.

“I hope you both had a successful drive.” Alpha says.

“Sleeping beauty here, slept the whole way. I just played games on my phone. So not too bad,” Craig says with a shrug.

I roll my eyes at him. Luna Liz just giggles at us. As we walk up the steps to the door, the door opens. Standing in front of us is an omega. She bows to Alpha Jake.

“The King and Queen has asked that I take you all to your suites.” She says to us.

She turns and walks away. We all follow her.

“My name is Alania; I help keep the palace in order. So if you need anything, please let me know so that I can help you. On the first floor is the kitchen and dining rooms. As well as the ball room. The second floor is where visitors stay. Third floor is the king’s office, conference room and library. And the fourth floor is where the King and his family reside.” She says as we walk towards the stairway.

We walk up to the second floor. We turn left at the top of the stairs. The first door we walk to Alania stops.

“This suite has been set up for the Alpha and Luna. And the next room down has been set up for your guests. Each suite has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small kitchenette filled with drinks and snacks, and a living room. If there is anything you need. I will be in the kitchen helping prepare lunch. Within an hour, it should be done. Please meet down there then, the King is expecting all of you. Also your bags have already been placed in your rooms.” She says to us.

We all nod in acknowledgment. And she turns and walks away. As Craig and I walk to our door, Alpha stops us. “Please get yourselves ready and I will stop and grab you on the way to lunch. Rose if you need anything, just have Craig link me.” He says to us.

“Will do.” I tell him and I open the door to the suite I will be sharing with my bodyguard. This place is amazing!

The colors are so pretty. Greens and blues. Everything flows together. I grab my bags from by the door and walk into the first room.

“What if I wanted that room?” Craig asks me.

“Too bad, I got to it first.” I tell him and I shut the door and lock it behind me.

I look around the room and it has an extremely large bed. It looks so comfy. I walk over to it and sit on the edge. Ahh, yes this is amazing. I’m gonna sleep like a baby here.

I decide that I will shower before lunch. I grab my bag of shower things and walk into the bathroom. I set everything up and turn on the shower so that it can get warm. Then I walk back out to grab my clothes. I decide that a long flowing dress will be fitting for lunch with the King and his family.

I go back to the bathroom and get into the shower. While I wash I think about my dream. Who was that wolf? I am positive I have never seen that wolf before. And what was the voice in my head? I’m afraid I’m going crazy.

Strange dreams, strange voices, and wolves I have never met. This is not normal for anyone. Then I stop thinking about that.

I realize that I am in the palace. I am eating with the King and his family. How do I act? What if I make a fool of myself? Now I’m panicking.

I finish my shower and get out. As I’m drying off. I notice something strange on my side. It’s in the same spot that I had some cuts from when Ashlee attacked me. I look a bit closer and I gasp.

Where the cuts were, there are now scars. But not just any scars. These ones are extremely strange. They are green, electric green.

How in the hell does that happen? I have to tell Alpha. This is not something that should have happened.

I wrap the towel around me and rush out of my bathroom and through the room and into the living room. Craig is in his room. So I knock on his door, yelling, “Craig! I need you to link the Alpha. I need him to see something.”

“Are you okay?” He asks opening the door.

“Umm… I think so but something strange has happened.” I tell him.

“Okay I’ll link him. “Go sit down and wait.” He says.

A few minutes later, Alpha and Luna are at our door. Craig lets them in. They all turn to look at me. Then I realize I’m still only in a towel. Nudity is common among wolves, so not a big issue.

I look at Alpha. “Do they both know about what happened in the clinic?”

“Yes they both know that you rapidly healed and we are not sure why. Are you okay?” He asks me.

“Yes I feel fine. But I noticed something strange. Remember how I had the three cuts along my right rib cage?” I asked.

“Yes, and the cuts disappeared with the rest of your body healing.” Alpha says.

“Well, did anyone really look at the space where the cuts were?” I asked.

“No, we just noticed they were healed?” Alpha says questioningly.

“I’m gonna show you my rib cage now and I want to know what you see. I think I’m going crazy.” I say.

I stand and open my towel exposing only my right side. The Alpha comes closer and looks. Then he reaches out his hand and runs his finger along the scar. Luna gasps. This causes Craig to come closer and take a look.

“Why do you have a tattoo of three lines on your ribs?” Craig asks me.

Alpha looks at me. “She doesn’t, those are her scars.” He says.

“How in the hell is that possible?” Craig asks.

They all look at me. “I have no idea. I just noticed them while getting out of the shower. So I am not crazy? You all see the electric green scars?”

“Yes dear, we all can see the green scars. I have never heard of something like this,” Luna Liz says.

“I don’t want any of you to say a word about this to anyone, as of now. We need to get more answers and figure out what is going on. I know, right now we are left with more questions than answers. But Rose, I promise you that we will get all the answers you need.” Alpha says.

“Okay” we all say to him.

“Now finish getting ready it’s time to go down to lunch.” Luna Liz says to me.

I go into my room and grab the dress I had laid out. It is a floor length dress. It is black with red roses on it. My dad picked it out for me. As I get dressed I realize I miss my parents. I will call them later tonight.

I put the dress on. And I pair it with a pair of black sandals. I leave my long hair down and just run my fingers through it to get rid of the knots.

I walk back out. Alpha and Luna are talking by the door. Craig notices me first and lets out a whistle. “The beautiful Rose is showing us her natural beauty today.” He says.

Luna and Alpha turn and look at me. They both smile at me. “Rose, you look absolutely stunning. The dress is very flattering,” Luna says to me. I just smile and thank her.

“Okay, let’s head down. I am starving. And I do not want to make the King wait on us.” Alpha Jake says.

We all nod and walk out of the room.

We head down the stairs. As we enter the room, the King stands. We all bow down, showing him respect.

“No need for any of that. This is just lunch, nothing fancy,” King James says to us.
