Chapter 37

(Ash)

“Ash!” I hear someone yelling. I am in the dark and I can see nothing. Out of nowhere, I feel the rush of wind and look to see what caused it. I am left breathless.

I am looking at the most beautiful being I have ever seen. “Not more beautiful than our sleeping beauty,” Aspen says in my mind. I just shake my head at him and walk towards the lady standing in front of me.

“Who are you and why am I here?” I ask her. She just smiles at me. I look around and notice that I am in complete darkness. It reminds me of the dreams that Rose has described to me. I look at the lady again.

“Is this the void?” I ask her and she nods with a smile on her face.

I gasp and bow down.

“You must be Selene, the moon goddess.” I tell her while looking at the ground, fully submitting to her.

“No need to be so formal my dear Ash. You are a very special person as well. Yes I am Selene and yes this is the void. But how did you know of it?” Selene asks me.

“Well my mate, Rose, has been having dreams with you and has told me about them. I just never thought that I would see it in person.” I say while looking around. It is all nothing and everything at the same time. It’s difficult to describe the feeling that this place gives off.

Aspen perks up in my head. He is starting to pace around. “Mate, I need to find Mate.” He tells me.

I look around and can see nothing. I look at Selene, “Is everything okay with Rose? Aspen is anxious and says that we need to find mate.” I say to her.

She giggles at me, “Yes Rose is fine. She is very tired right now and her body is transitioning through some changes to prepare for all the things that are about to come her way. Aspen is probably anxious since Lilly is close by.” She says to me.

As she finishes speaking I can hear someone walking up behind me. I turn to see who it is and I am shocked by the beautiful creature in front of me.

“You must be Lilly?” I say to the white wolf with electric green eyes.

“Yes that is Lilly. She is very dear to me. She would like to speak to you. All you have to do is touch her. As mates, you may feel sparks. But everything is fine.” Selene says to me.

I slowly reach out my hand to her. As soon as I touch her soft fur I feel the sparks and sigh in contentment. Before I know it my calling slips out.

I hear Selene giggle at me.

“Hello, my dear mate, I have waited many years for this. Though I have been around for a long time, I have never been blessed with a mate before. So all of these things are new to me.” Lilly says to me.

“Why have you never had a mate before this time?” I ask her.

Before she can answer me Selene speaks up.

“She was never blessed with a mate, because her purpose was to protect something very significant to me and her. I thought that a mate would make her weak. But she is adamant that a mate will make her stronger.” She says to me while watching Lilly.

“The battles are usually very difficult for me, so she worries about me. Even when I win them and do what is expected of me. They always take everything from me. Then I die, they take all of my energy.” Lilly says to me.

“So are you saying that Rose will lose her wolf after winning the battle?” I ask her.

Selene looks over at me, her eyes full of sadness.

“No, Rose will die along with Lilly.” Selene says to me.

“No that won’t happen, not this time.” I say to Selene while stepping closer to Lilly.

“I agree with you Ash, I believe that the powers that Rose will have since she is a Royal, and the mate bond. Will make me stronger than I have ever been before.” Lilly says to me.

“So is that why you brought me here? To let me know that I may lose my mate?” I ask Selene.

She nods at me. “Yes my dear, I wanted to be sure that you were prepared for anything that may or may not happen.” Selene says to me.

I look from her to Lilly. “I hope that we are right with you being stronger this time around. I don’t want to lose you or Rose. I don’t want to think about losing you.” I say to Lilly, leaning down to k**s her head.

I feel Aspen pushing forward. He wants to talk to Lilly.

“Am I able to shift? Aspen wants to talk to Lilly.” I ask Selene.

She shakes her head at me, “Unfortunately you are not able to shift in the void. But soon Lilly will be with you. Aspen can talk to her when ever he wants, with her powers she can talk to any wolf who reaches out to her.” Selene says to me.

I start to feel tingly all over. I look to Selene; she smiles at me. “It seems Rose is trying to wake you up. It is time for me to send you back. I am always here if you have any questions, all you have to do is reach out to me.” Selene says.

I feel as if I’m floating. Before I know it, I am opening my eyes to see Rose leaning over me.

“I was so worried.” She says to me while leaning in closer to snuggle up to me.

“Did you miss me?” I ask her.

She giggles and slaps my chest. “No, you where talking in your sleep. I couldn’t hear all you where saying, but the voice in my head told me that you where safe.” Rose says to me.

“Yes my sleeping beauty, I was fine. Just had a dream.” I say to her.

“What kind of dream?” she asks me.

I smile and pull her close to me.

“I dreamed of the void and Selene.” I say to her.
