Chapter 59

(Rose)

Everything feels foggy. It’s like I’m here, but I’m not. I open my eyes feeling groggy, I look around and see Selene standing close by. As I look around, I see Ash and Raymond watching me.

I try to stand up but cant. My body feels funny, I look down and realize that it is not my body. I shifted!! I am in Lilly’s body.

I did it!! How?? I don’t really know.

All I remember was not feeling well and sitting down with Ash. I could hear people talking around me, but i couldn’t make out what they were saying. It was like my body was there, but my mind was elsware, then everything went black. I wasn’t in the void, I was in the back of my mind. I saw Lilly, she walked past me, telling me it was time. Then I opened my eyes.

“Hello Rose, how are you feeling?” I hear Lilly ask me. “I feel amazing,” I tell her. She chuckles, she tries to stand again. It takes a few times. But then she is on her feet. She walk

s up to Selene, who reaches down to pet her.

“Yes my child, I know it has been a long time. I am so happy for you. You deserve all the happiness in the world,” Selene tells her. She looks at Ash, “Well, it is time for me to go, but I am always here if you need me.” She says while kissing Lilly’s head and turning to walk around.

It feels strange to be inside my own head like this. I am sure it will get easier in time.

Lilly walks over to Ash, and nuzzles her head into his neck. He laughs and begins to pet her head.

“Hello, my mate, I have waited a long time for this moment,” Lilly says to him.

He pulls away and looks at Lilly. “Well, now we have many moments to spend together.” He tells her while kissing her head.

Raymond has walked off to give us some privacy.

Lilly lays down next to him. She places her head on his lap. She closes her eyes and relaxes. He pets her head and she starts to make a humming sound. Ash chuckles.

“Do you like this?” He asks her, while continuing to pet her head.

“Yes, it feels amazing.” She says to him through the mind link.

“It does feel nice,” I say to Lilly. “Every touch from our mate will be stronger now. And once you mark each other, your powers will be fully enforced. And I know you worry about the mind reading gift from the goddess. But once you mark him, your powers will not work on him anymore.” She tells me.

“Well, that sounds good. I don’t want to be inside his head.” I tell her. “It is nice. But none of the gifts will work on him. We don’t know all of the gifts that you have been blessed with yet. But soon all your powers will be in effect.” She tells me.

“How soon will we know all the gifts I am blessed with?” I ask her.

“All gifts will be presented within 10 days of your first shift.” She tells me.

“That seems fast,” I say.

“It is, but you will have the support of your family and friends. And Raymond and his guys are here to help guide you through the training so that you have control over everything that is going on.” She says to me.

“Ya I know. I have the help and support of everyone. It just seems like a lot to take in, in such little time. What if I fail? I won’t just be failing myself but a whole kingdom.” I say to her.

“It is, but I would not have picked you if I didn’t think you were strong enough to take it all in. You will be great and do great things.” She tells me. “I’m feeling a little tired, do you think you can shift back?” She asks me.

“I’m not sure. How do I do it? Will it be painful?” I ask her.

“No, it will not be painful. The only painful shift is the first one. After that, it is just like stretching and you will feel a little sore, but that is it. And to shift back, you need to focus on your human part. Imagine what it looks like and then your body will just change back for you. It’s a lot of mind focus, but that is it.” She tells me.

OK, that seems way too easy. But I try anyways. I close my eyes and take deep breaths. I focus on my hair, and all parts that make my human part…

All of a sudden, I feel cold and a jacket is draped over me.

“That was impressive.” Ash tells me with a smile.

“I have never seen someone shift so quickly. Also, how did you know how to shift back? I was stuck in wolf form for two days. I panicked and thought Aspen was lying to me….” He says, I laugh at him.

“Lilly helped walk me through the process.” I tell him with a smile. He just nods at me.

“Glad to have you back Rose,” I hear Raymond say from behind me. He has clothes in his hands for me.

“I figured you would want to be dressed before we went back to the palace.” He tells me. He hands the clothes to me and turns around to give me privacy. I try to stand so that I can get dressed, but my legs feel like jello. I look at Ash.

He is smiling at me. “I can help you get dressed, then I can carry you back to the palace. We need to get some rest before morning. We are in for a very long day tomorrow. I nod at him.

Ash helps me dress and picks me up. Raymond turns around and smiles at us. “So do you want me to stay in the living room tonight, so that you have some quiet in your head while you try to sleep?” He asks us.

“Yes please, then in the morning can we work on shutting down when I can hear everyone’s thoughts?” I ask him.

“That is the plan,” he tells me while turning around and heading towards the palace. Ash follows him, I relax and just hold on to his neck. He smiles and k****s my forehead.

“My sleeping beauty, I can not wait to spend my life with you.” I hear him say as I drift off to sleep.
