The Fall Of Lucian -
Chapter 4
—Father, is it very necessary that we have to leave?
—Adara, I understand why you want to stay, but understand that we must return to your mother. The trip I must make will be very dangerous, I cannot leave without saying goodbye to her.
—But I’m in the king’s castle, couldn’t I stay? —The young woman begs with those eyes sparkling with anguish to get away from her wolf.
—That won’t be possible, your mother would kill me if she knows that I have left you here alone. Let’s go back home, Adara.
The young woman nods, feeling her heart break in two. She didn’t expect to find her wolf, and have to get away from him that very day.
Unable to do anything else, the wolf obeyed her father’s orders. Keeping the hopes of being able to meet Bardas when her mother will get better, apparently her relationship would not be like that of any other wolf couple; The distance between them was a clear sign that they would have a lot of problems.
[…]—I hope your trip is successful and you manage to find her, Ethan.
—For my wife’s sake, I hope the same too, old friend.
“This is a problem,” she says, looking to the side. Both her son and Ethan’s daughter were saying goodbye, both seemed very sad.
It was not common for a wolf couple to have to separate when they met for the first time, since that was the right time to get to know each other better.
—I’m sorry, Eren. But I must take her.
-Yes, I understand. But I can assure you that my son will not sit still. Blue Moon will be very frequented by the prince.
“I know…” Ethan tilts his head down, it was getting late, it was time to go home. It’s time to go.
-Good trip my friend.
The alphas shake their hands and say goodbye…
Adara takes one last look at her wolf as she walks away from him, the young woman in the company of her father walks to the entrance of the forest, being watched by the king and his son. her.
“We’ll see each other soon, Ethan,” the king shouts at his friend.
-I do not doubt it!
—Father, why can’t she stay? I need her here.
—He is still under his father’s protection, I can’t do anything else for you, son. You’ll have to wait for Ethan to return from his trip.
Bardas watches as the moon moves away from him, suddenly, Adara’s father transforms into a huge and impressive black wolf with blue eyes. For the prince, it was the first time he saw him in his wolf form, and even more so with those intense blue eyes.
Then, he looks at the young human girl next to that imposing alpha. She looked at him a little longer, smiled sweetly at him and from one moment to the next, he ended up transforming into a beautiful albino wolf with blue eyes.
Bardas takes a step forward, but his father’s hand is placed on his chest. The young man knows that he cannot prevent her from leaving with her father. But her reaction wasn’t because she was leaving, it was because she could turn into a wolf.
—She is albino, father!
— She That’s who she is… a beautiful and powerful albino wolf.
—I didn’t think… but his mother is human.
—That’s a mystery.
Eren stares at Adara, the wolf licks her muzzle and lowers her ears a little as she looks at her son. The nostalgia of leaving him behind was evident, then the king spots Ethan, who growls at his daughter to move forward.
They both set off and entered the thick forest… at that moment Eren knew something important, Ethan was an important piece in that puzzle.
He muses to himself.
[…]It was incredible, Bardas smiles, she was a very beautiful wolf. A gem that is difficult to find, who would have imagined that her moon would be an albino wolf just like him.
Now more than ever he wanted her, he couldn’t leave her alone for so long. He had to find a way to be by her side to protect her. Especially from any other wolf who wanted her for himself.
—You must be patient, Bardas. You can’t act rashly, she reasons before acting.
—How long will Ethan be gone?
—I don’t know how long that trip might take him, you know how dangerous and treacherous he can be.
—In that case, I will be with the people of the blue moon pack for a while. With your permission, I will organize a trip after the alpha’s departure.
—That pack has a beta powerful enough to take care of them, I don’t think your presence is needed.
—I am a prince, future alpha king of all wolves. Of course they need someone more powerful than a beta to take care of them. Besides; I’m not going to leave my moon alone. You can understand that very well, father.
His son turns around to head inside the castle, his father remains in the same place observing the vastness of his forest.
Then, he smiles, since he knew his son very well and it was evident that he would not leave that pack unprotected. The fresh breeze of the air hits the king’s body, he tilts his face a little to the sky that was beginning to blacken, one day his son Bardas would be a good king, of that he was completely sure.
[…]When the first rays of the sun touched the blue moon land, Ethan, accompanied by his daughter, arrived at the herd. They went directly to the Alpha’s house, but when they arrived there, the matriarch was leaving the residence with a somber expression.
Immediately, the alpha returned to his normal state.
-What happened?
—He’s gotten bad, his situation is getting worse every day. He doesn’t have much time left, alpha. Very sorry.
Ethan ran inside the residence, looked for some clothes and then went up to the room where his wife was resting. Upon entering the room, he looked at his wife, who was paler than normal.
Sensing that someone broke into her bedroom, she opened her eyes and when she looked at her husband she smiled tenderly.
—You arrived very quickly. The king will not be very happy about your early departure.
—You understand, honey—He sits on the corner of the bed.
—I see, you have told him about my illness.
“It was necessary, Shery,” Ethan caresses her cheek. If I want to save you from this illness, it is necessary that he…
—I don’t have time left, my love. Not anymore!
The young woman closes her eyes as she feels pain in her chest, every day she finds it difficult to breathe. And that tired her more than she thought, by then, the only thing the brunette needed was for everything to end.
She no longer wished to continue causing anguish and sorrow to her beloved husband. Ethan had done a lot for her, he took her out of her misery, gave her a family of her own and helped her overcome fear. Now the only thing left for him was to die peacefully to be reunited with her sister Eve.
That was all…
—If there is, I’m going to get you better. I promise you, Shery.
—I don’t want you to take that trip to the mountains, it’s very risky, our daughter needs you. Please, Ethan, please me.
“I won’t,” she says, standing up. “I’m going to find that witch and you will be saved with her help,” he adds, determined.
“We don’t know if she’ll really help me, you can’t trust her,” he objects, trying to sit up in bed.
But that movement only causes her to cough, and she spits out a large amount of b***d onto the sheet.
Ethan comes back to her and helps her lie down on the bed. Concerned about the deterioration of her beloved moon, he cleans her lips and changes the sheet.
—I’m not going to let you die, I will fight until the last day of your breath, Shery.
She looks at her husband and tears began to emerge from her eyes, Ethan was still the same man she knew so many moons ago. They already had a long way together, and while he was still brimming with youth, the years were taking their toll on her.
He had left behind that young and attractive human, by then the years and illness took their toll on her body and face. However, her beloved husband never stopped loving her. He was always affectionate, tender, every day he showed her love.
Even when certain positions of hers were complicated due to her age, Shery never stopped feeling loved by that wolf. How she was going to miss him, she tells herself internally, she did not want to confess the truth, but the matriarch told her that she only gave him a week to live.
Maybe less…
No matter what Ethan did, he wouldn’t be able to save her life…
And it was for the best, since if this disease didn’t kill her, the years would… she was no longer a child, and she hated the idea of becoming older and grayer. for Ethan. Her human time was coming to an end, and so it should be.
She wasn’t a werewolf, she didn’t have the gift of immortality, she was just a human who fell in love with a werewolf. The story had already come to an end, and she accepted it. It was the cycle of her nature.
—You are very persistent, Alpha —She smiles with the pain reflected on her face.
Ethan suffered when he saw her, but he would do whatever he could to save her life…
