Chapter 123

The

journey to Nova City took a toll on Madison.

She couldn't leave Haven House for days. During this time, she either meditated or rested.

of rest, there was a knock on Haven House's door.

After five days of r

It was Harvey.

Harvey looked Madison over from head to toe. "You look awful. Was the trip really that exhausting? Don't push yourself if you're tired,

Madison shook her head. "I'm fine. I just need some rest."

With a wave of his hand, Harvey had a maid bring over lunch. "You've been here for a while, and I know you've been busy. I noticed that you didn't have time to cook, so I've arranged for a restaurant to deliver food.

"From now on, just call them whenever you're hungry. They'll deliver it straight to your door. It's the closest restaurant to Haven House, so the food won't get cold. They've also got a dedicated delivery guy, so there won't be long waits." A moment later, a feast was laid out on the table. Every dish was Madison's favorite.

Yara watched from afar, sighing. "The living has it so easy! The three of us debated for hours and couldn't come up with a solution. A living person, though? One word, and it's done."

As she was spealing, she glanced at Sebastian. It wasn't a surprise to see him frowning slightly. The dead, or those stuck in between, were completely powerless at times like this. Sebastian watched as Madison and Harvey sat down to eat and chat.

Madison had been exhausted lately. She was so tired that she often threw together a quick snack or ate instant noodles just to get by. When someone was that worn out, the most important thing was to get some proper rest and nutritious meals. Sebastian glanced down at his transparent body and, for the first time, felt a deep frustration with his current state.

Madison suddenly sensed a surge of ghostly energy, so she turned her head to check. However, the ghostly energy quickly faded, and everything was back to normal. Madison fell silent.

Harvey followed Madison's gaze and asked, "What is it? Did something happen?"

"It's nothing."

After both of them finished eating, Madison got up to wash the dishes, but Harvey stopped her. "The restaurant will send someone to clean up. Don't worry about it." Watching how Harvey had arranged everything so perfectly, Madison felt relieved.

"Harvey,

there's something I want to talk to you about."

Harvey was about to leave, but he changed his mind after hearing what Madison said. "Sure! Let's take a walk around Haven House."

Haven House was small but beautifully designed.

When you looked out at the lush green scenery from the balcony every morning, it was hard not to feel a little better.

"It's rare for you to sound this serious. Tell me, what happened?"

Madison stared straight ahead. She said in a clear and calm tone, "Honestly, before Queenie and I video-called, I already knew her fiancé wasn't a good person." The thought of Kevin and Farrah made Harvey frown.

It wasn't the fact that he had been dragged into a scandal or become the topic of gossip that bothered him. The main issue was Kevin and Farrah's irresponsible nature.

If Madison hadn't exposed them,

1. Kevin w

would've married Queenie. Instead of just two unhappy people, there would've been three. "Revin loves Farrah, but his mother doesn't approve of them being together. She looks down on Farrah's background," Harvey shared what he had found in his investigation. "But after everything that happened, Kevin's mother finally agreed to let them get married just so she wouldn't be embarrassed.

They only registered their marriage, but there wouldn't be a wedding ceremony.

In high society, a wedding wasn't just about the ceremony. It was a public acknowledgment of each person's status.

Kevin's mother's decision not to hold a wedding clearly showed her disapproval of Farrah.

Harvey shook his head. "I just hope they'll be able to make it work."

"It's impossible. Kevin always listens to his mother. After the wedding, he'll be caught between his wife and his mother, and in the

end, it still lead to a divorce."

No matter how passionate one's love was, it couldn't escape the daily grind of marriage.
