Chapter 152

The young men nodded in unison, smiling as they left. But as soon as they stepped out of the airport, their faces shifted to expressions

of awe.

"What just happened? Who on earth is Serena? She actually managed to get Mrs. Hall involved!"

"Yeah! Ever since Sebastian's accident, Mrs. Hall has barely shown her face in public."

"Isn't the Hall family busy with estate matters right now? With Sebastian gone, there's no one left to keep the family under control." "Am I the only one curious about when Harvey got so close to the Hall family?"

The others exchanged puzzled looks. They hadn't heard anything about Harvey having ties to the Hall family.

"Why don't we just call Harvey and ask?"

Over on Harvey's side, he was about to board his flight when his friends' questions came through the phone. After a few seconds of silence, Harvey responded, "I don't have any connection to the Hall family. It must be someone else." The only person he could think of who might have ties to the Hall family was Madison.

In the VIP lounge of the airport, Dana said in a gentle but firm voice, "Ms. Wynn, I'm not trying to pressure you into staying. But matters of a relationship need closure, don't you think?"

Serena's expression was still tinged with anger, but she couldn't show her temper in front of an elder, so she merely replied, "I haven't seen him in over a decade. There's nothing left to resolve."

Dana was briefly taken aback but then smiled warmly. "That may be how you feel, but Harvey doesn't seem to share that view. Don't worry, I'm here to ensure your safety. If, after meeting him, you still want to leave for your trip, I'll personally escort you to your flight." Serena's expression softened slightly. "There's really nothing for us to talk about. But... if he insists on meeting, I'll see him."

Time ticked by. Eventually, Harvey rushed toward the VIP lounge, his steps quick and his breathing uneven. There was none of the poised demeanor of the Locke family's scion. He looked more like a young man in a hurry.

Standing at the frosted glass door, he could see the scene inside clearly. A woman sat on the couch, her long, wavy hair cascading down, her elegant profile visible from where she was seated. When she spoke, there was a faint dimple at the corner of her mouth-it was just as he remembered.

She seemed exactly like the Serena from over a decade ago, yet at the same time, entirely different. Harvey pushed open the glass door. The two people inside turned to look at him.

Serena's gaze followed from his polished leather shoes up the perfectly tailored slacks until her eyes landed on his face. It was now much more mature than she remembered. She pressed her lips together, and the hands resting on her knees unconsciously clenched into fists.

Dana stood up and greeted Harvey with a smile. Harvey tore his eyes away from Serena and nodded at Dana in acknowledgment. Dana reminded him gently, "Speak calmly. If she doesn't want to talk, you can't force her."

Harvey lowered his eyes, his voice hoarse. "I'd never force her."

"Good. Talk things through. I'll be right outside." Before leaving, Dana shot Serena a look, silently assuring her that she'd be close by if needed.

Harvey caught the exchange, knowing full well it was staged for his benefit. He let out a self-deprecating laugh. "After all these years, are you really this wary of me?"

He sat on the single-seat couch across from Serena, his gaze wandering back to her face. He was unable to look away.

Serena turned her head to face another direction. "After more than ten years, we're basically strangers now. Is it wrong to be cautious around a stranger?"

"Strangers? Am I not still the Harvey you loved more than anyone in the world?" Harvey asked.

"Harvey!" Serena shot to her feet, her voice sharp. "That's incredibly disrespectful to say things like that. Do you realize that?"

Harvey stared at her, his lips pressed tightly together. He was suddenly unsure of himself. Back then, when he said things like that, she'd blush and smile. But now, there was only anger in her eyes. Serena glared at him for a few moments, then turned away in resignation. She let out a long breath. "Harvey, I've already let go of the past. When you didn't show up all those years ago, I moved on." Harvey tilted his head back. "I didn't show up?"

Serena let out a bitter laugh. "I suppose you've forgotten. Let me remind you. After our exams, we planned to meet at Mount Brightstone to watch the sunrise. We agreed on it. We were going to watch the sunrise together." Harvey blinked. "Mount Brightstone? Didn't we agree on Mount Octon?"

"We did at first, but then you sent a message through your sister, Rebecca, changing it to Mount Brightstone. Remember?"

Harvey stood abruptly, his emotions clearly stirred. He shook his head. "I never asked Rebecca to send you any message. I would never have changed the location at the last minute."
