The Fortune-Telling Heiress -
Chapter 154
Chapter 154
Tanya could only shake her head. Maddie was powerful, yes, but Harvey only had this one chance for a destined love, and now, it was
gone.
Rebecca gently comforted Tanya. After sending her away, Rebecca shut the bedroom door and finally allowed herself a quiet laugh.
Meanwhile, back in their bedroom, Tanya told William about Harvey's situation. William remained silent for a while.
"We'll see how it goes. If what Maddie says is true and Harvey only has one thread of destiny, well... Once it's severed, there's not much anyone can do."
Tanya sighed softly.
The couple lay in bed, the mood somber. Sleep eluded them as they tossed and turned, their minds heavy with worry. Hours passed before drowsiness finally took over.
Just as they began to drift off, a loud, frantic knocking broke the silence.
Tanya's eyes flew open. "What's going on?"
William grabbed his coat. "I'll go check."
"I'm coming with you."
As soon as they opened the door, they saw David rushing toward them, his face filled with panic. "Mr. and Mrs. Locke, Mr. Harvey is furious. He's confronting Ms. Rebecca right now!" "Becky?"
"Why would he be after Becky?"
The couple hurried upstairs, only to find Harvey radiating cold fury as he towered over a sobbing Rebecca, who was slumped on the floor, crying in a pitiful heap.
William stormed over, yanking Harvey back and landing a hard slap across his face. "What the hell do you think you're doing? No matter how angry you are, you don't take it out on your sister!" Tanya rushed to Rebecca, shielding her. "Are you alright, Becky? Did Harvey hurt you?"
She moved to help Rebecca up and leave, but Harvey blocked their way. He said, "You haven't answered my question yet." Rebecca's sobs grew louder.

William stepped in front of Rebecca protectively. "You've scared her! If you want to hit her, hit me first."
Harvey froze, his anger simmering. As he stared at his parents, who were doing everything to defend Rebecca, his mind drifted to Madison, who had just returned home not too long ago. Sometimes, it was only when you were the one being treated unfairly that you would understand the disappointment it brought. "Rebecca, no matter how much you cry today, you have to give me an answer." Harvey's expression was stiff, and his voice was cold. He ignored the swelling redness from where he had been slapped.
"Why did you go to Serena? Why did you tell her the meeting spot had changed? You knew how much I loved her. I only told you about it. No one else in the family knew.
"I trusted you as my dearest sister and shared that secret with you alone. Why did you do it?"
Rebecca choked on her sobs, refusing to speak.
Harvey took a step closer. "Answer me!"
Rebecca whimpered, retreating further into Tanya's arm, tears streaming down her face.
Tanya looked confused. "What are you talking about?"
Harvey didn't bother explaining, his piercing gaze still locked on Rebecca. But she just kept crying, not uttering a single word.
"Enough!" Tanya yelled, her voice rising with frustration. "Can't you see Becky's about to pass out from crying? Can't you, as her brother, be a little more understanding? What could be more important than your sister?" fumpter
Tanya shot Harvey a disapproving look and pushed him aside. She took Rebecca with her as she stormed off to her room, slammir door behind them.
William stared at Harvey and said, "If you've got something to say, do it without resorting to this kind of behavior. You don't r frighten your sister like this."
Harvey closed his eyes, exhausted. "I didn't lay a hand on her. I asked her one question, and she started crying before suddenl to the floor."
"What did you ask her?"
Harvey slowly opened his eyes, his earlier rage replaced by a quiet, hollow tone. "I asked her why she lied to Serena. If it w her, Serena and I wouldn't have been torn apart by a misunderstanding." William froze. "A misunderstanding? You two broke up because of a misunderstanding?"
