The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage by Chu -
Chapter 1879
Every member of the Quill family looked on in amusement.
After all, they believed that whenever Governor Quill was furious, whoever stood out would be the first to get it.
Frank, however, did not know that tradition.
Not only was he standing out fearlessly, but he was even heading straight to the governor's helicopter, staring fixedly at the old man as he alighted with a furious glare. "Frank?!"
Governor Quill's breath seemed to have caught in his lungs.
However, his rage did not subside-if anything, he appeared angrier as he bellowed, "I told you to leave this manor! Did you really just ignore my orders?!"
Despite Governor Quill's parent-like lecturing, Frank remained fearless as he bowed his head in greeting. "Grandfather, I've merely come to stop you from doing something you might regret." "Something I might regret..."
Governor Quill was actually left musing to himself, unable to argue.
His fury subsided as well, and the tension in the air quickly eased.
Some members of the Quill family actually found the courage to look up at the governor just then as well, dumbstruck when they sensed that his fury was subsiding.
That was the case especially for Alba and his wife.
With one being the governor's son and the other his daughter in-law, they knew the governor's temper best.
The world seemed to shake at his fury, and no one could reason with him at that point.
Even if they had no idea why the governor was furious now, Frank had definitely managed to calm him down. Who on earth was he?!
The other members of the Quill family were staring at Frank too. Those who were dissing him earlier
especially felt like they had been slapped across the face and were left ringing as they flushed, speechless.
Nonetheless, Governor Quill's eyes were flickering in confusion just then. "Frank... Are you saying that you don't hold a grudge, despite the way these scum harassed you?" "Spite?"
Frank looked around at the rest of the Quill family, shaking his head and chuckling. "I've never considered these people family, so I really have no reason to feel for them in any way, let alone hold a grudge, I'm only here because of you, Grandfather."
Governor Quill flashed a wry smile at his words. "Well, I apologize that you had to go through that."
Frank shook his head. "It's fine. I understand that you have your troubles, and I just hope that you
won't resort to drastic measures et
from now on. Try to judge a
situation fairly, instead of sticking to absolutes of avoidance or
punishment."
Then, glancing at Saul as he lay in a stretcher, he finished, "Otherwise, your family won't be united in spirit and would instead become blinded by wealth and influence."
"Haha... Hahaha!"
Governor Quill shook his head, chuckling. "Never could I, Rhys Quill, have expected that I'd be lectured by a younger man. It really is embarrassing for an eighty-year-old geezer like myself..." Then, his glare was once again sharp as he wheeled on the other members of his family. "Frank has told me that you were all abusing the families of my fallen comrades. Is that true?" "Eh?!"
As soon as Saul found his father glaring at him, he abruptly felt a suffocating pressure.
Then, Governor Quill pressed, "And what's with all your injuries, Saul?"
The question left Saul's cheek twitching. "Father, I..."
