Frank was unsure as to how he should react-something like that would only work here in this far flung corner, as it had been used a million times over in the city. "Come on, handsome. Let's have another!"

Gigi raised her glass again, and while Frank clinked glasses with her again, he soon excused himself to sit as far away as he could.

He was not interested in the lady's tale, since not everyone was that tolerant of the same old tale.

Soon, Jason returned, and Gigi used the same trick on him, telling him her sob story.

While Jason had been to the big city himself, he was clearly not as experienced as Frank was, as he totally bought Gigi's story! "Poor girl, how terrible!" he cried. "Tell me, how much are you owing? I'll pay it off for you!"

Gigi's eyes lit up right then. "Really? Well, it's not much... Just fifty grand!"

"Oh, that's easy. Let's just exchange numbers, and I'll wire you the money!"

Seeing that Jason was really going to do it, Frank was prepared to stop him, but Bob-one of Jason's henchmen-stopped him first.

"Hold that thought, boss!" he said and turned to Gigi. "Could you bring us a few more bottles of champagne, ma'am?"

Gigi promptly shook her head, clinging to Jason's arm and purring, "Jason, you're not sending me off like a waitress, right?"

She was certainly sharp, quickly sidestepping Bob's effort to send her away!

Jason was getting annoyed too. "Send someone else. Don't be a party pooper now!"

"I have something to tell you..."

"Whatever it is, it can wait until tomorrow!"

Jason was clearly not having it and was bent on wiring the money to Gigi.

Bob was naturally getting flustered and gave up on all pretenses as he snapped bluntly, "That bitch is lying to you! I've seen so many like

her-don't fall for her tricks!"

Gigi was at once displeased at that.

She almost had that fifty grand, and she was not about to let anyone ruin it for her! "Don't listen to him, Jason!" she snapped. "He's most definitely drunk and just yapping!"

"I'm not drunk!" Bob retorted. "Just listen to me, boss. You can lose that money to a beggar, and it'd stilkdo more good than giving her that money!"

Frank could raise a thumbs-up at Bob's earnest outburst-even if he looked like a hooligan, the kid had

his priorities straight, just like lackie

and Tidus Simmons! Contone

Nonetheless, Jason was glowering. "Shut it. It's my money-if you meddle with my business again, I'll shut you down!" "Jason! Is he really your friend? The way I see it, he's no more than a clown-right, ladies?!" Gigi exclaimed.

At her words, the other hostesses all jeered loudly, leaving Bob furious.

"You stinking hag!" he snapped. "You have no right to speak to me like that!"

Jason sprang to his feet right then. "Take back what you said and apologize to her right now!"

Bob almost lost it. "Are you for real, boss? How could you let someone like her deceive you?!"

"Watch your move!" Gigi snapped and threw a bottle at Bob.

While she would never go this far with other customers, she certainly dared to strut pompously now with Jason's protection.

Thud!

However, just as Bob thought he would get a bottle to the head, Frank was suddenly beside him, catching the bottle and placing it calmly on the table.

"Turn off the music, and turn on the lights," he said.

Bob quickly did as told as Frank ordered.
